    Theres followers and theres leaders...
    This dude has been KILLING IT on the bike and now is doing crazy experiments and pushing the limits, mechanics wise.
    Haters are just jealous of not coming up with this things earlier. Zack rules!

    BMX needs grind side pedals? They existed for a second decades ago and they were gone before most riders could appreciate how brilliant they were.

    Pretty cool concepts and parts can't wait to see what the future holds for 3D printed parts

    Made a "5th peg" using pvc tube that slots to the bb, then moved to using pvc end cap that slots to the dust cap. Wasn't able to extensively test it though since i have busted knees.
    Currently, i have a BB Buddy from buddy_mfg installed as it just arrived yesterday. Will test it once my knees feel ok.
    I think a combination of BB budy and a bb shell protector is the way to go for the 5th peg concept.
    I'm a fan of DIY and innovation and zack embodies that.
    Really clean bike might i add!

      From the looks of it...that's what is the 5th peg presented here...the bb buddy but covers the entire bb, which for sketch riders like myself...I rather have more protection.

      @@SFletchersona combination of metal and plastic is what i meant. Bb buddy as the main part that absorbs all the impact/abrasion and plastic as sleeve for the bb shell to slide.
      Wtp pathfinder frame actually did come off with an offset thicker bb shell and chainstays.

    You could CNC them but it would take many setups and would be very expensive. 3d printing and CNC both have their places.

    It would be cool to see a video of homemade/custom made parts and or modified parts. I've made alot of my parts for my bikes over the years, stems , seatposts, pegs, spokes for straddle cables, dropout savers, top caps, sprocket guards, .45 cal bolt covers, barends etc. I hope this is inspiring to the young guns to keep innovation alive!

    Why not use a printed seat post too.... I'd love to have one that is 3D printed but also has a stash tube inside or a small compartment you could keep money in or a key. 😉😁

    • @SFletcherson
      @SFletcherson 2 роки тому

      The thing is one would have to find a way to make it strong enough but still being light. Post can take a lot of pressure if one falls on their seat hard enough. or if someone bails...the post would need to take a lot of beating. I know I saw Nyquist snap his carbon fiber seat.

      No way a hollow 3d seat post would support a riders weight, and if it did most filaments will change with temperatures imagine cruising on a hot day and your seat post crumbles cause the plastic got brittle

    • @dethgripco
      @dethgripco 2 роки тому

      Seat posts are already hollow. If stashing stuff in is what you want, maybe just find a plug that will fit in to the hole.
      But since seatposts are bolted to the frame, you also need to carry your allen key around.
      WTP came up with the Smuggler seat years ago, sadly, they discontinued it.
