Even though I like Betty White, and no one likes anybody who criticize Betty White, I hate when she makes a joke in the middle of a 30 second countdown. It could distract her, it could distract the other person, or whatever. But she wants to get a laugh and be liked by the audience so she puts aside doing 100% for the contest them. She did a couple times on this episode and I’ve seen her do it another couple times on another episode in a way that was even worse than this time.
Have any timestamps? You sure it wasn't a way to get to the word that some might find funny, like pointing to your rear end to help get to "Asparagus"?
THINGS THAT FLIP: A pancake... a grilled-cheese sandwich... an over-easy egg... a coin-toss...
Coin toss is a no. A coin, on the other hand, is OK. However given your other clues, they'd say "flip" first.

betty’s quip at 5:01 is everything. 😂
The 1982-91 Pyramid era was always from (CBS)Television City, now defunct.
Funny that flip and snap are synonymous as in _to become angry or lose one's temper_
Compass- The gold casing, the needle, then go into directions.
the ROUND gold casing. the magnetized needle. etc.
Cant believe Betty got away with giving the clue for clock before the timer started.
That's the production's fault for putting it up there too early. Whether the other contestant then received the "disadvantaged" return, I don't know.
It's sad that Charles Siebert died of pneumonia of COVID relation. What a horrible way to go.
Jerry was also a contestant on Blockbusters with Bill Cullen.
