i got one but i gotta tell you it took almost a year to find one, second hand, slightly different from this one, mine seems to have a more "flat" body than this one that seems quite convex
I got one from some guy online for like 300$ but I can’t find the price of the bass anywhere to know if I got a good deal. Regardless it is still the best bass I’ve owned.
In the UK the basic models seem to cost around $800, so if it's a real one, you absolutely got a stunning deal! I have seen them go for $300, probably because the whole holoflash thing isn't everyone's idea of good looks... people assocoate it with a cheap tacky instrument because the only place you see it is on crappy knockoffs from China/Taiwan/etc, or on the occasional custom instrument. As far as I know, Spector are one of the only companies who have ever made an affordable production bass with that kind of finish, so I bet people struggle to sell them for a good price second hand. I personally think anything holographic is epic, I've even finished a custom guitar I referbished in holoflash sparke. But hey, I'm a Magpie.
You forgot to mention the 3-piece laminated neck. That's 3 pieces of quarter-sawn Canadian Maple. Much less likely to twist as the years go by, than a 1-piece neck. So these Spector's really are "built to last a lifetime" as their ad campaign says.
God I wish there was a place online where I can get one. They’re so hard to find and usually out of stock :(
