Just finished this game, I was SO floored by how this game progressively got better and better AND BETTER. When that musical cue hits with those vocals in this mission I literally said out loud, "WHY IS THIS SO PERFECT?!" --- I later cut out that part and it is currently my iPhone ringtone. This game was a serious gem. Never ever thought I'd say that about a dog fighting game.
But lets be honest. I did the same on first playthrough. Was using F-22 and of course it doesn't brake real fast enough. If you played this mission with Rafale there wouldn't be problem at all.
It took a while, but someone managed to figure out what Count meant with that line. Remember at one point of the game, Count has a radio in his cockpit? He's tuning to public frequency, the same frequency that Avril and Cosette is using in the space elevator since all other means of communications are down. So, to put it simply, Count is the only one besides the player that can hear what's happening in the space elevator. Now, here's the smart part. Count hears from Avril how she and Cosette can bring down the Arsenal Bird's shield by smashing the 'bulbs' and he times it by 'telling the shield to "Disappear"' as Cosette is doing her work and causing the shield to go down as a result. In the eyes of everyone else, it appears as if Count did make the shield somehow disappear just by telling it off, when in reality he knows it's not him, but Cosette that made it happen. That was his scam to everyone.
Considering the royal beating Three Strikes was putting on their forces and how much they came to fear him, wouldn't you be glad to suddenly find yourself on his side, and not bracing for a missile up the afterburner? Lol As an aside, can't help but find it hilarious at how relieved the Erusians were to be on his side.
This was too funny, on hard I was like Tomcat for life, playing it way more times than I had to trying to missile hit that underneath part. On Ace, I chose the Raptor and was straight gunning.
For a really dumb reason to shoot down thousands of fighters and super weapons with a bottomless supply of missiles and other future weapons, this series has always had a passion and a soul unlike any other. God bless this manic series.

Not quite. Actually, Count took a missile for Cossette when those missiles are coming towards her. But I think the windblast knocked her off as you'll see her helmet got took off.

@@Groza_Dallocort no they hit like a rock at that speed. Even pigeons go through commericial airliners like they are rocks. Air to air missiles need to explode on contact cuz aircraft are fragile.. Thats why chaff is used to detonate them them in mid air.. that princess was chaff lol. Anti tank missile is a totally different case.

High G turn, i selected the type B so i just have to hit the brakes and turn. If you have type A you need to hold the acceleration and brakes together and then turn

The only thing I find unnecessary is the cringe-inducing radio chatter. I’d rather not hear the Princess’s heavy breathing when I’m trying to shoot down the Arsenal Bird. Nor the Scrap Queen’s ( Jesus that name ) annoying voice. Other than that 10/10 game.

I think when you hit 0, the game keeps giving you 2 Missiles at the Time, though at a decreased rate, to prevent the mission from being unwinnable.
