@@DoryVideo Yes please make more vlogs about this device. If you could demo also the use with Photoshop, or Ableton it would be great! Thanks again! Sure this Stream Deck is on my list! :)
@@DoryVideo cool. Just bought streamdeck. Do you know where to find profiles for logic and spitfire? Could and would you share yours? Greetings Michiel
I didn't decide between Elgato Stream Deck +, Audio Mixer, just streamer desk or Megalodon Triple Knob Macro Pad. I'm thinking to buy the nob Controller too to make a Combo. Which one you will choose base in your experience?
I was just about the pull the trigger on the XL version. And I asked myself, what else can it do other than act as a really good shortcut controller for my daw. Something that I could quite easily do myself by learning the keyboard shortcuts and a cheat sheet whilst I do so. But this, this is the thing that pushed me over the edge. I only have a 61 key Midi Keyboard. And like you say, all the context switching is on the bottom octave. It never crossed my mind to use it as an articulation switcher. So now I'm thinking, maybe I can create sheets for my favourite VSTS. And have them bring up and install my own templates, and switch through those templates as well. Sold
This is a great explanation on setting up articulation with Elgato and I have been using it for sometime with my Spitfire BBCSO and Abbey Road libraries with Logic Pro X. However, what I really want to do is to quickly and efficiently switch the articulations while editing the MIDI track that has already been entered or recorded using the Elgato. By that I mean that I have selected a (e.g.) BBCSO articulation set in Logic and now want to change individual or groups of MIDI notes WITHOUT having to use my mouse to select the new Articulation pull down menu in Logic (e.g. Legato, Piz, etc.). I want to just select the articulation that is already setup in Elgato by pressing the button, thus eliminating the time wasting mouse movement. Any suggestions? Thank you!
@@DoryVideo Do you have any suggestions for using the Streamdeck to select articulation vs. having to use the pull down menu in Logic? Again this is going back AFTER the midi has already been recorded (not live changing the articulation as it is recorded) and using the selections to change for example, a highlighted midi note selection.
Hello! I sent you an email on your site regarding the spitfire patch for the stream deck, it’s very impressive and it is convincing me to get one myself. Hope to hear from you soon!
@@DoryVideo hi mate! I was having a hard time getting the midi notes to trigger in cubase (had it working on reaper previously). Turns out because I had expression maps assigned that didn’t have specified remote keys assigned. I basically had to assign each articulation a remote key and then it worked. Thanks for the videos!
You don’t need a video specifically on that do you? I’ve done a few videos on how it works and how I use it and I’m pretty sure they cover everything between them
Hmm. I did this extensively against Cubase 11. It was great. Then I got Cubase 12 and found all my hard work could not be automatically picked up against Cubase 12. The issue was not Cubase. The issue was that Streamdeck identified the "Application" as different and therefore I had to rebuild all the same menus and buttons and images etc etc against Cubase 12, A lot of work. I approached Streamdeck Support and they said effectively "Sorry, can't help You. They are seen as different Applications, version 11 and version 12". I searched the Registry to see if i could change a simple setting, unsuccessfully. If somone has a solution that works, please let the readers here know the best way to do this. Hoping this starts the conversation. It works really well but caution going up a version of the Application software. I guess we have to wait till Cubase 13 or 14 to find out if this issue persists. Regards.
Brilliant! Love the Spitfire instruments. This is exactly what I was hoping Stream Deck would do.
Just few days ago I've been asking myself how to access those special features of Kontakt instruments. Here comes the cool tip! Thanks a lot!
My pleasure. I’ll be doing a few more videos I’ve the be t few days showing how to set it all up. Go get yourself one, it’s brilliant!!!!

Hi, I’m doing the use of this with music apps (Cubase and Logic) in the first instance, I don’t use Ableton so I cannot comment.

This looks like a great alternative to expression maps! They're really fiddly.
It’s excellent
Thank you for sharing this helpful video!
Good, thank you!!! Where can I have the step by step to configure this?
I’ve posted a few more videos on setting this up on a Mac
Email me, you can find me if you look
Where can we get a copy those Elgato Spitfire Templates?
Send me an email

Can the buttons on stream deck the activate articulations with multiple note inputs? For example, C0 for Short and D1 for Spiccato.
Yes if it’s set up for that in your instruments

it would be very nice if you could show us how to do it. Thank you
The midi plug-in for streamdeck has since changed, the one that is shown here has been discontinued so I may well start again and do a new video soon.
@@DoryVideo PLEASE do. Thank you so very mch
@@DoryVideo I'm glad that he asked because it is not in your comments for the video (up top) where it could have been immensely useful for us.
pretty dang sweet
hi have you got this to work with cubase?
yes works a treat. Remember on a PC you need to install a MIDI loop app. On the Mac you don't need to.

Greetings sir! I am very happy to have found your channel 🙂 Have you any experience making rhythmic CC commands on StreamDeck?
Thanks, not tried that yet but I don’t think the buttons are suited for that
@@DoryVideo fair enough. I appreciate the response 👍
So here comes a question, how to program these midi info onto your StreamDeck?
There’s a streamdeck plug-in/app that does this for you.
@@DoryVideo Thank you for relying~ I just found it , and figured out how to do it~~ Thanks again for sharing~
Anybody who has used both an iPad and StreamDeck as MIDI controller / CC controller and can share his verdict as to which device is better suited?
I like the ‘buttons’ on the stream deck. I personally never got on with the iPad touch screen interface.. not tactile
GREAT!!! 👍 👍 👍
Thanks
can i do the same with the loupdeck live and CT versions?
Sorry I have no idea
@@DoryVideo well, I was searching info and it seems it supports it also.
setting up a midi device in studio one is like freakin impossible
You failed to show us how you programmed streamdeck with articulations.
There’s no real programming involved I demo in another video how to assign midi notes. Watch that one it’s clear :-)
