Ultra Low-volume Medical Device Assembly Cell

Single dose injection device with plastic parts and glass cartridge.
The assembly cell showcases ATS technology. It is based on SuperTrak Conveyance to reduce tooling, allowing us to reuse same tooling for multiple process steps.
SmartVision was selected for inspection and correct orientation of parts. Multiple feeders were required due to the number of components.
The low speed (less than 10 ppm) allowed us to do things we normally can't do with high-speed automation, but still deliver high efficiency. There is maximum utilization with very little tooling sitting idle, delivering maximum potential in a small footprint.
As a result of our collaboration and adaptability, we delivered on time and our customer was first to market with this niche solution.
