    I'm so happy you showed some of the sand blasting. Not only is the process super satisfying to watch but it reminds me I need to invest in one! An invaluable tool in restorations. I'm blown away how this turned out, Leen! Total transformation 👏😍

      Thank you so much!! My husband always wanted to have one. It's actually ever since we got ours, he is more into "my" furniture flipping too. I guess it's "boys and their toys", haha. And I'm not complaining. Because it really is such a cool "toy". Every time we use it, I think: we should use it more often. 😆😄

      I can't deny it was A LOT of work...!! I think I can't see stripper anymore for 5 years now. Hahaha... But fortunately my hubby came to the rescue with his sand blaster. That really was a big difference in work. Should never have started with the stripper to begin with. But don't tell my husband, I said he was right! Lol!

      Thank you so, so, so much...!! Although such a dark and shiny finish was what everyone liked back in the days (this piece dates back to the early 1900's), today people would walk right passed it. I hope I did it justice by going for a lighter finish, which - I hope - will be more appreciated by the people today. ❤

      I loooooove the design of the table too. Apparently it's from the early 1900's. When I saw it on Facebook marketplace I knew I had to have it. But it was quite a drive from where I live. I only found out after I messaged the owner. She said: that's OK, I'll deliver it for free... Wow, I was so surprised. And thankful... These pieces of furniture are the ones that make you get addicted to this "job", aren't they. I'm always at the lookout on Facebook marketplace, and I suffer from FOMO... Lol!

      Thank you sooo much!! I hardly ever use white wax, to be honest. I always chose dark or black wax over white. And I don't know why. Because I actually love the soft finish it gives to pieces!

    Wow! Luv it. Did you lose much wood off its surface with the sandblasting? Irregardless, that looks like the only way to go when dealing with that design. Well done Leen.

    • @New_Renaissance
      @New_Renaissance  Рік тому +1

      Thank you!! No, we didn't loose much of the wood. We always try a little part in the back upfront, to see how much is coming off. It depends on the softness of the wood. When necessary we change the type of grain. Sometimes people use a wrong size of grain and too much of the grain is coming out. Sometimes, of course, that can be the look they are going for. But in this case, we definitely didn't want a lot of wood and grain to come off. It worked perfectly! 😊😊

    That’s such a beautiful result 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼I really enjoy watching your work!
    Please tho, when you are doing your voice overs, please increase the volume of your voice, so you’re easily heard over the background music! In this video every time you were speaking, I had to turn the volume up so I could clearly hear what you were saying, and when u stopped speaking I had to turn the volume down again to soften the background music. Thanku

      Thank you!! And thank you so much for your feedback on the voice and music too. When I watch it on my computer, and I even tried watching it on the TV, I don't really notice this problem. I will check with other subscribers to see if maybe it's due to my computer. It's quite some work to make these videos, so I would love the result of the music and voice to be good too. 😊😊 It would be a shame if you can't hear what I'm saying. So thanks for sharing this feedback. I appreciate it so much!! 😘❤

      Hahhaha... I think he only said about 87 times: "I told you so". And yeah, he was right. You should definitely should try and get a sand blaster. We always reuse the sand, by the way. That is why we had all the plastic around. We sift all the sand afterwards so that we can remove the bits of paint that have come off and reuse the sand. In this way it is not only budget-friendly to use, but also ecologically responsible.
