I can't believe the negative comments. It's not necessarily supposed to be perfectly realistic. I started watching, figuring I would watch the rest later, but ended up watching the whole thing straight through. Great job - loved it.

What a fascinating film. Such a well written dialogue and superb acting. It is not often that a dialogue of more than an hour, with the same background scenery and just two actors, can hold the attention of a viewer. This is very difficult to achieve, so hats off to everybody involved in the making of this film.

i had no expectations when the movie began--but, as it progressed, I was deeper and deeper into the relationship between the two brothers. I agree with what I just read from another person: It was riveting. And, the the two Henrys accomplished an enormous amount of connection in the one hour's time. They did a beautiful performance, and the writing facilitated them. Congratulations.

I found it riveting, the acting, cinematography, blocking and dialogue all complemented each other. Those who didn’t think it was a film but more suited to other media didn’t understand the actors body language and nuances in the blocking and how that enhanced the story. Well done everyone involved.

This is an extraordinary movie; the introspection & the parallel of acting...if you are, you get it...we all are acting..."All the world's a stage..."
The critics below, are indifferent to what others are forced to navigate without a path to follow set by others who are successful. Keep on, keep'n-on!!! A second chapter for how the younger brother navigates what follows; i will look forward to watching & listening to a depth of real life, as shown here...as Hamlet says: "Seems(?)...all is NOT seems!"

Brilliant these two boys will be great actors in the future their delivery of their
Memories were convincing perfect and delivered on cue. You wanted the big brother to tell his little brother that he does love him but the young brother hugging him near the end was perfect well done boys and the producer director.

Such publications are made for money, people are deceived, the young generation is caught in this fire. In order to become a family, men and women must be and love each other. Let's react to these publications and protect the family.

This was a drama between two brothers, the younger one possibly closeted. I think it wonderfully done and kept imagining it as a play. There are only two actors and references to two other characters, Mum and Alex, a Gay friend of the younger brother. Not much action in the film but great dialogue between the two actors. Just a wonderful film and in my opinion well worth watching.

yes, going to uni can be a huge deal because it is the first time you are on your own, especially if you are going to uni far from home. here in the US most universities require that you stay on campus which means you will have roommates who you do not know. that in itself is a life learning experience and puts everyone out of their comfort zone. how to deal with the unknown. I was not remotely out even to myself when I went to uni but the adult like atmosphere was refreshing. I can only imagine if someone had anxiety and face pressure of who they were it would be extraordinary. The word gay was only mentioned one time just to convince our suspicions. There is really a lot that is going on with this skit and a lot of it mirrors what the average lgbt youth has to go through in growing up. I would really love to see this in the theatre where the actors can really open it up with a lot of passion.

When I was that age, I never had conversations like that with my older brothers. We also lacked knowledge about ourselves and others. We were not capable of such self-examination. That's why I have my doubts that this dialogue was very realistic. But perhaps young people today are so much deeper in their self-analysis and observation of those around them?

Let me sum up the youth today for you: they are self-indulgent, self-pitying, attention seekers who view themselves as highly evolved, deeply intuitive empaths, and anyone who doesn't validate their delusion as a narcissistic abuser.
This has nothing to do with the film - I haven't started watching it; I just saw your comment and thought I'd share my observations 😂😂😂

    • @wolsch3435
      @wolsch3435 7 місяців тому +1

Check out the video. I assume that this does not confirm your general assessment of youth. I just found the dialogue very unrealistic. But the two brothers really take part in each other's lives and care for each other. But I can understand your general assessment of many young people today. What I hear and see often makes me shake my head. I was born in 1957. At the end of the 70s, many of my generation were considered smart-asses, notorious know-it-alls and completely arrogant, obnoxious people. The vast majority of us later became more sensible and prudent. I hope that today's youth will do the same.@@lutalice

That was different. A lot of thinking went into that script. It held my attention but I did feel that I was waiting for at least one more character to appear. For a time, it was like a revolving door, coming back to the same point. The craft and skilful nature if its execution was nonetheless impressive. I congratulate all involved. ❤

The sound scape is bloody awful, the sudden drop offs whether intentional or not distracted from the story. It did have moments of genuine pathos, but I never felt these two people were brothers with a common upbringing, there were only fleeting moments of conflict which is surprising considering the younger brother clearly felt neglected by his older brother having moved on in life. I can see that the author was trying to reflect upon Alan Bennett's style of monologue but the lack of a central point of conflict as to why these two were so detached wasn't really explored in any depth despite alluding to differing recollections of childhood. The fleeting introduction of Alex, the younger brothers former gay friend added nothing despite one expecting this to be part of the separation in the brother's relationship. Overall there is definitely the makings of a story but I feel that it was too scripted and the actors didn't bring their own presence to the roles - anyone with siblings will know that discussions inevitably involve strong reactive emotions and only once did the older brother come close to throwing his brother against the wall.... I don't know at what stage the author and actors are in their careers but I am sure that their respective futures will prove they are on the right path.

  • @afishcalledwanda

I'd never have talked to my older brother about it back then. I was glad I was an independent adult when coming-out. You have to guess by yourself what situation allows you to come out. In the worst case, you take the brunt and get all this balderdash from an older one, without him having already fully developped his empathy, not being a full-grown adult himself. Today we get along easily with one another. But back those days? - No one has a right to "obtain" your coming-out and nobody should feel under pressure. In that respect, the "good old days", with every gay being in the closet, were sometimes easier to live; and I'm not glorifying the past. It's good that that one is over. But this today's extra weight of a forced "coming out and going public" on your shoulders is sometimes quite double-edged.

I will probably get a whole lot of shit for my humble opinion here but this is not an LGBTQ+ movie but rather a one act play with nothing but filler. It's basically dialogue and much the same tracked over and over...SHOW us Mom, Dad...just do SOMETHING! The assumption is given that there was a gay relationship...where is it or the discovery of gender identity crisis and coming out or being true to yourself? I'm a hopeless romantic so I want to see the kisses. hugs and the discovery of dreams Not repression of them!

    • @williamgrogan7322

Yes but this is life, not always happy and smooth sailing. I was hoping for the younger brother to just come out to his older brother but he wasn't "there" yet. And he will probably be miserable until he finds someone to love and that is often the impetus for coming out and accepting and loving who he is.
