Many years ago, I put an L79 327 with a 4-speed in a 64 Rambler American 2-door hard top. The whole swap went really easy which as most fabricators know is the kiss of death when it's too easy. I got it all hooked up and running and I backed it out of the shop and got it straightened out on the driveway so I could do a burnout. I revved it up to 3 grand, popped the clutch, and the car jumped to life for about 4 inches when the pinion sheared off the front of the rear end. I ended up putting a narrowed olds rear end with 4.11 gears in it. The car weighed 2700 pounds and was a legit 13.30 car in street trim thru the mufflers on skinny tires.
That Rambler is the definition of a hot rood! All the custom work is beyond awesome!
Thank you!

Breaking necks and breaking axles
Nice car - nice build - nice video .... but "when" is not the same as "whenever".
