My favourite story of Jerry Collins was he was spotted in a curry house in Cornwall by some lLocal rugby boys having a night out. They asked JC if he would play for them the next day. JC being a good sport and a true gentleman agreed as he was between contract. Such a loss to rugby . RIP Jerry
Seems there are endless stories about the great man. In a time of controlled professionalism, he still let his character shine through. Unique, brilliant man.
Back in nz he would play for his club team norths whenever he could even between home test matches.he never forgot where he came from porirua and will always be sadly missed and remembered for just being Jerry RIP LEDGEND
I'v heard plenty of story's about Jerry and how generous he was ,he drove around in a shitbox , always carried a stack of cash , always gave to any homeless he come across , and another time when he rushed into a small pub I think in Wales to watch an AB game and the tv was to small , so he went to the nearest store and brought a 55 inch tv set it up , watched the game and walked out leaving it behind , and of the many that met him were in awe of him, Certainly one of the greats of the ABz , and definitely one of the toughest to ever play the game .RIP Jerry Collins ,
Good to see you looking well Kembron ow kenderwi. As an old-timer from the far South-Western Cornish valleys, you made me sit up in my chair. Celt pride. Good team, Adam.
Jerry Collins has to be one of my favourite rugby players of all time. Such a recognisable figure with his blonde hair on top, but a ferocious competitor. That story about him playing for Barnstaple seconds too is a great one.
Always interesting to hear different players perspectives on their 15, and the reasons for it. Also the different absolutely quality sides we get to see created too! Keep up the content DC. Loving the autobiography too!
Wilkinson for Defensive Shifts? Phil Bennett for being the fly half template for around 3 decades? There are a lot of ways to judge a player. Also, Adam Jones is taking social aspect into account so his opinion?
I'm a Kiwi and I'd hate to have to choose between players like Carter and Barry John but a number of others were right up there too including Bennett, Porta, John Rutherford, Ollie Campbell, Tony Ward . . . But I always liked Biggar too. I wouldn't argue against him.
Met jerry collins and Lee Byrne in abergavenny years ago I'm 6ft 4 jerry was the same like a rock he was, quite suprised by the size of Byrne both were more than happy to have a photo, two great players r.i.p jerry
A lot of those players were overrated, played well for a Welsh side that were well coached but most of them were average international players except for Shane Williams.
Shane williams being hard work when out and about around Swansea on a night out is very well known. So well known that when talking about him in rugby terms is very often mentioned.
I think its a very strong team but agree 9 and 10 surprising. Problem with us Saffas is we tend to want all these type teams to be full of our players and NZ ones. For example Wales has always been a great rugby nation producing some wonderful players, they are weak now for the 1st time in memory
Everyone will have a different opinion, but this would be a team to fear. Hard as nails forwards, silky smooth backs. Ok MP isn’t silky but still quality. England fan by the way so would always want to see Courts, but fair play.
@@johnmitchell2269Biggar is so underrated. He has pulled out some absolute game winners. We all remember RWC 2015 and that beauty of a cross field kick to Adams in 2019. Solid stable and dependable. The best British 10 of the last 20 years.
@ I get that but I’m struggling to figure out how good a person someone like Dan Biggar has to be to leapfrog players like Dan Carter and Johnny Wilkinson. That’s why I was wondering what this is supposed to be
I am expecting to see Steward due to Furbank injury but I really don’t like it and will still be disappointed, we know he is very slow and doesn’t offer that much defensively outside of aerially, I know his attacking has improved but there is no substitute for pace. DVM will be licking his lips, literally done him several times and there both big chaps, we are not talking Kolbe level nimble here, like you id far rather try an uncapped player and die trying than steady when steady hasn’t exactly done us well in recent years. Not to mention the entire attack has to change when you have someone like Steward in. Tom Williams has to be in there.
@@MCMLXXXIV1984 he’s been waiting 5 days for someone to ask this question just so he can give a non answer and feel smug. Too obvious and you fell for it.
Bro left out Bakkies and Matfield combo 😂😂😂😂. Matfield had no peer in the lines outs and Bakkies in the tight as a lock pairing they had no equal during that period.
@DannyCareYT Fun is always a night out with the rugby lads. Bomb states he has a better team than nic Evans. Phillips n Biggar were his mates not better rugby players than you and Larkham. Larkham was phenomenal. You were a quality 9 that had great skills n a great kicking game, also great vision. Phillips was a mouthy tw@ who had a 1 dimensional game 🤷♂️
I'd agree there is to many Welsh players in that squad that have not achieved and even tho a lot of those players played on lions tour it was a former Welsh manager in charge.
I would put Lomu for Tommy bowe. Carter as out half instead of Biggar Dupant scrum half Robinson fullback Parrise No 8 Martin Johnson no 4 Keith Woods hooker
I understand it's he's xv but you have little taste in quality players you could've chosen. That's why wales lost and still loose so much. Phillips and Bigger😂😂😂😂

It's an excellent team. He is obviously going to pick who he knows best as players and as people. I am a little disappointed Foxy didn't get in, but the players he picked have achieved nearly everything you can achieve in world rugby. Hibbs is an absolute pick.

I heard a horrible story too in North Devon, he played a club season there, don't know why
I remember it was after their 2007 World Cup semi defeat to France. He was awesome. Imagine coming onto the field and seeing Jerry Collins!!

I would pay a lot to watch that side. No one would want to front up to that. Great episode. Adam Jones will always be a legend here in Wales.
I love this idea. All the little insights and stories on the path to naming the team are delightful. Nicely done sir.
Loving these 15’s from different people around the game !!

When I look at that Ospreys team of Galacticos it’s still a mystery why they didn’t achieve more.
Seven of this team were on the same Ospreys team around late noughties. Looking back, they completely underachieved.
A lot of those players were overrated, played well for a Welsh side that were well coached but most of them were average international players except for Shane Williams.
straight in, love the different views on ultimate 15's! Let's go!
It would be great to see Ultimate XV from every world cup - 🙏 Ultimate XV 1987, Ultimate team 1991 etc..
Nice idea. Let’s have a think…might be some life in that!!! Thanks.
Would like to see this team play, amazing selection from 🇿🇦

Never heard anyone call Filo a _smallish 8_ 👀 but yeah, Ace on a bender is quite the experience... 🙃
Filo got picked cuz he's the only one who can control Jerry😂😂😂
The JC Wrangler!!
do a longer show like 7 hours or a 10 hour show even a 24 hour athon love the show
Brilliant
Classic Bomb
Juan Smith was the HARD man...
Dan Biggar? 😂 The picks were going so well............. does everyone know that it's ok to pick Carter? Tommy Bowe was super underrated.
Best players or best friends?
I'm pretty sure the whole point is it if he could have his own team what would it be. So it's a mixture of who he likes as a player and a person
Not even a mention for Henson. He could have been an atg
Danny well done on scoring your last try, I will say you looked slow asf but loved it ;)
I second the comment below- rubbish side with too many Welsh and Osprey players, but good banter nonetheless 😂
No Matfield😂😂😂
I know bias (favouritism) will always creep into these, but picking Dan Biggar over players like Carter/Wilko/Sexton/Larkham is madness.
Bias? It’s his opinion John not bias!
Haha what a joke.. 😂😂
Picking your mates, is that not bias then 😂 come off it.

Is this supposed to to be a team that he thinks would win matches or be great at rugby? Or just a friend of his in every position?
I think it's just Adam Jones RFC. So it's just who he would want on his team as both a player and person

shane williams and AWJ are the only welsh players who should be in that team
Wow tight 5 not one Springbok
Sorry mate you lost me
Could say the same about no ABs in the backline
Not having a saffa at lock is crazy
NH bias, there is no way you couldn't have one.
Totally agree. Matfield, Etzebeth, PSDT & Bakkies. Can dismantle any team

Not one English player 😂 🙄 some questionable picks there compared to some lads he’s played with or against but fair play loyal to the end 👍
Sorry chaps, loving the stories, the banter and the show but that's a pretty crappy side.... 😒
Coming from an armchair critic😂
Biggar over Carter? I love Bomb so I'll let him off, but really??
😂 That's patriotism gotta be
Would be boring if everyone picked the same players. That being said, 9 and 10 is laughable.
In your opinion. Compared to that of Jonesy’s? Who’s is more valid Christopher?
Aaron Smith at 9 and Carter or Wilko at 10. Phillips and Biggar both very good players but not really in the conversation.
Tony Woodcock better than Os Du Rant😂
Not sure how many international caps or what professional experience you have…but Adam is quite well informed tbh.
Fair
Is that the same Ox that got dumped by a centre?
Too many Welsh in there!!
We all know why he hasn't chosen Bakkies Botha as one of his locks

Yes. Because he told us. Well done.
Why should he?
