For complete DBMS, check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/YRnjGeQbsHQ/v-deo.html
To all those asking why it is in BCNF.
We don't have to check 'AB' as the Candidate Key. Instead, after every decomposition, the candidate key varies with the table.
e.g. in R21(ADE) A can derive all the attributes i.e. D and E. Therefore A is the CK of that particular table.
bro can you tell will candidate key (ab) added to the list of sub tables like R4(ab)
@@sayanchaudhuri8885 its already there in R1
Thanks Bro for clearing my confusion
Tomorrow is my university exam of DBMS and I was facing a problem on this topic. Watched all your videos from part 1 to part 16. Thank you for your support. Your explanation methodology is awesome :)
KNOWLEDGE GATE Sir its a coincidence that I got the same question in my university exam.
Same Situation Here ❤️❤️
Sir my college teacher who can't able to do the work in 6 months , sir you have done it in 1 day.....You are great sir. I will be very great full if someday i can meet with you. Thank you sir...
How can we say this table is in BCNF? I didn't get because, to be in BCNF, alpha must be a C.K./S.K. ??
For tbl R21 ck is A,R22 ck is D,R31 ck isB,R32 ck is F alpha is ck in all these four relations nd these relations have 1 fd
@@chitrasingh8724 Thanks for the answer I was having the same issue..
You have to take candidate Keya of all relation separately and then all there FD have alpha as a CK
these are the best videos for dbms I found on the internet today
sir i cant tell you how helpful your videos were..thanks a lot sir..huge respect...thanks sir
Sir ur videos are so fruitful that it clears many of my concepts of DBMS....Sir plz do share ur video on dependency preserving as it is not there...Plz do favour to many of us
Loved this series, thank you so much.
Thank you Sir..You make every concept of normalization Crystal clear to me..the way of teaching of yours is amazing..
Respect from bottom of my heart for you sir..
Hello, Mr. Sanchit,
Please consider an example where we might get more than just one Keys and that too with the combination of 3 Attributes,
Example: R(A,B,C,D,E), A->B, BC->E, ED->A,
Please suggest on this...
Thankyou
Thank you so much! You are very good at explaining and the structure of your description is very organized!
u have a clear concept and can deliver it also.....Thanks....Extend the series......GOD BLESS
Very informative videos, thank you so much this will help in my University exam tomorrow.
Sir, your Videos are really helpful. They keep my interest till the last moment. I request you to please upload 4NF as well as 5NF too please as they are important for my university exam.
Thank you!!
Hi Sherhal, we truly appreciate your kind words for our efforts. :)
yes we do understand that these are topics are important.....we are working on your requested topics and we will upload soon :)
you have an emphatic lead over other online tutors
Sanchit sir your videos are very helpful and interesting and very very easy to understand. Please upload video on multivalued dependency 4nf and 5nf too.
Thank you very much for such wonderful lectures...... Very helpful sir...I was Not understanding from any other platforms.... Thankyou very much sir for your efforts.....
thank u so much for the clear explanation . Now i'm totally clear about the whole topic of functional dependencies and normalization.Grt job.
Hello Sir. First of all a lot of thanks to you. Sir I need your help.l have some questions. I have no other way to solve. Here I'm writing the questions.
1.What are the following-
Loss less join decomposition,
dependency preserving decomposition,multivalued dependency and 4th NF.
2.Given R (A,B,C,D) with FDs
AB determines CD
C determines A
B determines D
R decomposed into R1 (A,B,C)and
R2 (B,C,D) then is lossless and dependency preserving. How?
3.R(A,B,C) FDs
A determines B
B determines C
C determines B
i.lossless decomposition is always possible for R.
ii.dependency preserving decomposition is always possible for R.
answer is i is true and ii is false. How please explain.
4.R (A,B,C,D,E) FDS are
AB determines C
C determines D
B determines E
R decomposed into R1 (A,B,C) and
R2 (C,D) then decomposition is loss less and not dependency preserving. HOW?
5.How many minimum relations required for
R (A,B,C,D,E) with FDS
A->BF
CD->E
B->D
E->A
into BCNF without violation of lossless and dependency preserving decomposition?
6.How many SKs in relation R.
R (A,B,C,D,E)(AB->C,BC->D,
CD->A,AD->B)?
may be I'm disturbing you but please help me Sir otherwise I will lost my confidence for exam.
awesome explanation in each and every video......got my concept very much clear just by watching your videos....thanks for a wonderful explanation. :)
Thank you so much sir for clearing the concepts in such a clear way. These videos are very helpful !
@Knowledge Gate, I don't understand why the tables past the 3NF ARE ALREADY IN BCNF? As I was basically trying to apply the rule you said in the previous lectures for BCNF : if alpha is superkey and Beta depends on alpha for all relations then it's in BCNF but that's not the case here.
A is not superkey but a prime attribute , so how does A --> D, E be in 3NF and same logic applies to the other relation tables.
sir you look so happy while teaching . the same smile is on our face when we understand each and every word of your lectures.thank you for making such great videos
it helps alot.
Epic Sir very nicely explained!❤️
Thanks a lot dear❤️ Keep learning & supporting ! Do visit our website www.knowledgegate.in for more amazing courses & contents 👍😊
you are doing a great job
Thank you Sir! You made me clear about 3NF very easily.
sir really thanks to all of your effort and hardwork that you did for the students at free of cost really it means a lot for us and we really appreciate your efforts thanks a lot
Beautiful work. Amazing.
Your videos are really really helpful! and easy to understand.It would be GREAT if you also uploaded video on multi-valued dependency and 4th normal form sir!!! Thanks and regards.
Thanks a million sir! Appreciate your effort!
sir, can you please make videos on 4NF and 5NF ,it's asked in our university exams and your videos is the only way to understand the subject
Watched entire series, loved the video
Hi Sanchit - Thanks alot for your educational videos. Could you please upload some more examples of how to we go about decomposing a table into a desired normal form (e.g 3NF, BCNF). Looking forward to more of your education video. They are really helpful. Keep it up!!
amazing lectures! saved my day! LOVE FROM PAKISTAN
Fuck you
Fcuk you
thank uploding veido..really thank and best job.
thanks you so much sir your session are very helpful to me
Sir can you please upload 4nf and 5nf tutorial sooner , it wl be really helpful . Thank you.
Dhanyawad :)
sir please upload more examples ....in little bit more detail...your videos are really very helpful..
It is so helpful Thank you!!!
sir can u please upload videos of 4th and 5th normal form......................
sir you made my exam amazing :) Thank you so much :)
sir, as per your lectures, A table must be in BCNF , if all dependencies 'Alpha" side is super key. Then why at 8:21 , it is true for 5 dependencies. i means their alpha side is not super key because our candidate key was (AB)+ only.
Please let me know after 8:21 , what will be keys for tables?
i mean will D and F also become keys after decomposition into BCNF? PLease answer my doubt.
Sir, Please upload the videos on dependency preservation and lossless decomposition.
Sir why u r not posting new videos. We need ur help. Waiting for ur videos. Kindly post videos on computer graphics important topics
Thank You so much, sir! You're amazing!
As superb as always!!
awesome way of teaching .
sir you have taken AB->C in R1 but sir look initially only A is determining C----I think this is a mistake here......correct me if i am wrong.
thnks
No A,B is determining both C
You definitely are better than so many uni lecturers out there. Thanks a ton :).
please upload a video on lossless or lossy decomposition
'loseless join decomposition and dependency preserving decomposition' .. sir have you removed this video? Please add it into playlist
can u please make some tutorials of tables examples problmes
thank u sir for uploading video... thanks for uploading 2nd example.. really thank u...
sir can you illustrate an example of converting 3nf to bcnf. i am finding it difficult in that case. thank u sir
jain shab tarif karo kya uski jisne tujhe banaya.....hats off to your work from your brother abhinav jain
jai jinendra abhinav bhai, will work more hard in future...
jai jinendra brother, Lord Mahavira's blessings are with us,will definitely work hard.

Thank You very much...
Thanks for showing interest,will do that soon.
SIR A BILLION TIMES TY!!!!!!
Sir can you please solve a decomposition example which has multiple candidate keys
Eg: R(A,B,C,D)
F.D: AB -> C
C -> A
D -> B
Super thank you very much
Thanku sir ,all vdo of normalization are very helpful,,,
please sir solve this question....R(A B C D E F).A->B, C->AD, AF->CE.Decomposed up to BCNF.
@@sunitabnsl solve my question mem.
That sir say last in video that all 3rd nf is in bcnf
Is it right?
I think that only (abc) in bcnf i am right or wrong?
im not finding part 15 of these vedio lectures.
thanks for clear cut video
very useful lectures
thank you sir aapke wajah se pass ho gaya dbms me
if a table have more than one candidate key then, are the all candidate key present in R1 table in 2NF?
u haven't made videos on 4 and 5 NF sir??!!!
WHAT A EXPLANATION
Thanks Divyraj.. keep learning & supporting !! Do visit our website www.knowledgegate.in for more courses & contents !!
F=ab->cdef, c->a,d->b,c->d,e->f and b->e....find the normal form..here every atrribute has incoming arrow what to do ?
Relation R(ABCDE) with functional dependencies A-->B, B-->C, C-->D,D-->E hold then what is the highest normal form that R holds. Is the answer R is in 2NF right. Please let me know
Sir please upload a video about fourth normal form
Should sir this method of decomposition always be Lossless and Dependency Preserving?
Nice explanation
Thanks.. It'll help for the semesters
Sir ismein part-14 ke baad Seedhe part-16 dikha raha hai kya part-15hai hi nahi ya apse naming mein koi mistake hui hai
Thank you boss man all these DBMS lctrs are really helpful
Glad you liked them! keep learning & supporting. You can also visit our website www.knowledgegate.in for more amazing videos👍
@@KNOWLEDGEGATE_kg Will do👌
Sir please upload one video for multivalued dependency
Sir ,I have one question? In this you have split the R2 which is in 2NF ,into the 3NF. In 3NF R22(D,I,J) is a separate table ,the question is that here D act as a foreign key from table R21 or not???
thanks sir ji
Thank you❤️🔥
You're welcome.. Keep learning and supporting !!
Sir pls 🙏 make video on 4nf and 5nf and dknf pls
why is it in BCNF?
How is it in BCNF?
Strong & Weak Entity Set? Where are these? Traps also missing from lectures.
Sir please upload lectures on these topics. And also upload practice problems on ER-Model.
thanks alot Sir
Nice explanation SIr.
Hi Harshith,Thank you so much, would like to hear more from you. We upload more topics every week, Please subscribe this channel for best GATE tutorials. :)
Thanks

sirr u r the best......
really awesome videos , sir could you even make the videos on 4nf and 5nf.
Sr plzz upload videos on dependency preserving
Hello sir,
I am unable to find part 15 of this series of lecture...pls help me find it..am unable to understand how to decompose a table into desired normal form.
Here's the link of that video Divyanshu kaushik....
ua-cam.com/video/3aQ0dnZHaRQ/v-deo.html
sir please explain the overview concept of transitive dependency
I actually ranked 689 in CS based on your explanantions in 4 months.
Very nice, keep it up!
sir,I think you missed one more Table comprising of candidate key attributes i.e, R5(ABF) could someone clarify please
sir plz put videos on query optimisation...
sir u are about to tell loseless decomposition..
For BCNF
alpha or left side must be superkey. right?
at last ,after 3NF. alpha or left side is not super key rather it is part of candidate key. and you are saying it is in BCNF?
