Loved your reaction and I thought you were on to something. I loved the song but the visuals of the MV took it to a whole new level. The imagery on the onset gives comptemprary feeling to it but it is beautifully tied in to certain taboos of society. It reminded me of Old city Lahore known for its rich culture, music, dance and a place where people outside gender norms found their refuge. The color palletes over all were warm but the contrasting colors worn by people depicted their rich art and indetity. The lyrics spoke of these forgotten hidden gems of society trying to break barriers. I resonated the most with the dancer. An image of old and elegance forever tied with her art. Love is love, be it a person, their identity or art. I can go on forever with the imagery but Coke Studio really stepped up their game this time ❤️
This MV is really something! There is so much to talk, discuss and analyze here that we can go on for hours! I just saw the Making/behind the scenes video and loved their approach and thought process! (How Ali got the first line!)
Also - I love your insight for the video! So meaningful and so artistically done! Cheers!
@@WritingRahul spot on! I have yet to watch bts of this song but I'm sure, they will go in depth with regards to lyrics and song concept. Just happy to be alive in times of such good music, collaborations and innovation. The song says a lot without saying much. One word 'inclusivity' 👍🏻
@@WritingRahul loved your reaction.... dil mangy more plz react on Mehram from CS 14
Thank you so much! Putting it on the list.
You are spot on. I think maybe one of the reason why the song stirs something so profoundly within us, is that it taps into something more than mere superficial love. It tips its hat to the type of love that society tries to push into the dark recesses. It calls the neighbor across the wall to remind him or her about the possibility of what could have been. It evokes the separation of millennium, stored somewhere deep in our genetic memory. The yellow dress of the dancer and the bindya on her forehead whispers so silently, "agg lawaan iss doori noon". How did they do this ? I am a bit dumbfounded. Did so many elements conspire together to create this ballad of separation. Is there a genius behind it ? ... Stand up, and take a bow dear Sir or Madam ... whoever you are, you created something so beautiful. Many many thanks. Shukriyaa
Every episode of this season is setting a new bar. Every song has its own identity and charisma. Tu Jhoom, Mehram and now Pasoori, something amazing to come in next few weeks. By the way, i just loved your genuine reaction.
Completely agree Syed. This season has been an absolute treat!
And thank you for your kind words.
I thought I was the only one who got Nazia and Zohaib Hassan's vibe from the song 🥺
PS. Wonderful reaction
It was so thrilling to hear that! I got goose flesh and teary eyed and every thing!
And thank you so much!
Shae gill actually sang a cover to boom boom by nazia hassan..you should check it out
Same bro I was also thinking I am the only one getting those vibes 😹😹
I need to check that out!!!!
Cheers!!!
The name of Classical Dancer is "Sheema Kermani". She is very famous.
I feel so embarrassed not to have know that! She is such an amazing artist!!!!!!
This by far is the best Pasoori reaction video I have seen. Keep up the great work Rahul! And OMG totally agreed on the Nazia-Zohaib vibes and glad to read below that other people felt that too! 😊
Thank you so much! Really happy to know u liked the video. Will keep it coming.
AND NAZIA - ZOHAIB WILL ALWAYS ROCK!!!!
@@WritingRahul best video reaction by far..believe that!!
Thank you so much! Means a lot! :))
Hi sir! I'm from Lahore and I just came across this channel and am a frequent viewer of different Indian reaction channels but the difference between you and them(which I found) is that you pay attention to every aspect(every minor detail)going through as I've been a student of English literature and now a teacher so after reading the literature it created kinda instinct into me to pay attention to every single detail means the perspective to see things around you change(Diction is very important) .. and I'm lucky that I found a person like me.
And coke studio doing a fabulous job 👌
Thanks for your reaction
Buddy Coke 😅
@@syedhaameem8065 🤣🤣 I didn't see before.. Auto correction sucks .. Thanks to inform me 😅🤣
most reaction channels are just money making schemes with no input or observation just over the top bullsh*t
Hi Mohsin,
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am not an expert when it comes to singing but I have some understanding of lyrics, music and visual presentations. (Have an academic background in literature and architecture.)
Been making videos since 2013 but none of my videos ever got views before. It's for the first time I made a reaction video and for the first time getting such a huge response! Can't thank you enough!
This song is so full of art . “Its not even funny” 🤪
Lol! It totally is! I think it is one of the best!!!!
Thanks. I was at a loss of words.
And your comment does suggest a racist mindset that weights superficial aspects over actual thought.
The whole setup and story of lyrics showing the dancers who are professional waiting for their byers , lovers and (tamashbeen) spectators . Dancers show their moves which being choreographed with great intellect artistically precise maneuvers of dance accords with the words and music.
This song and this video is just simply amazing!!!!!
I’ve seen a lot of reaction videos and by lot I mean A LOT but I was pleasantly surprised by how genuine your reaction was and how incredibly soft spoken you are. Not only you were eloquent, you also seem to possess knowledge to actually comment on this song. I immediately subscribed. Hats off.
Watching this second time btw and decided to leave a comment this time ❤️
Thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰 means a lot. So glad to know you liked my reaction so much :))
Same here ❤
This set is planned as past time chaubara or aangan shared by several households and these artists share this space to gather and show their talents. Some people are on upper floors and some people are watching it only from distance. Some are enjoying it and dancing. All together it has a hidden message for people to come closer to each other and leave behind their schedules (majbooris).
It's such an amazing set! So well designed! And captures the cultural heritage so well!
That theory makes so much sense. Thank you for sharing your thoughts
Loved your reaction. The most honest one I have seen so far and it's not even funny 😉
😊😊😊 thank you so much
Love to see reactions of those who have great knowledge of music. You and jyoti sardar are one of those from india while others are just wah wah love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
Thank you so much! really means a lot. When it comes to music, I am not an expert at singing but do have some understanding for lyrics, music and visual presentation.
And Jyoti Sardar is really at what she does! I love her insights. Also, I wish I had as stylized a presentation as she does!
Your reactions are absolutely honest and simply amazing
Thank you so much! Means a lot

Your Reaction We Love
thank you
Amazing reaction, one of the best I came across so far on this song. Well done.
Thank you so much 🥰. Means a lot!
OMG!! im so glad you commented about the Nazia Zohaib vibe on the exact point when they both stand up and sing together, that's what I commented on the main song and I thought it was just me thinking that. Great minds ;)
And I am so glad I reacted to it :)) There are so many of us who felt the same. If you go though the comments u will see. :))
@@WritingRahul I think they captured essence of Pakistani culture and styles into one artwork, even the mandolin bit, when it ends it gives the feel of Junoon style music, the set, makeup, wardrobe and choreography elevate it all, plus the amazing and glamorous Sheema Kirmani make it look stunning so effortlessly that you just don't want the experience to end.
Oh yes! U are right! I missed the bit about Junoon. This whole video is such an amazing piece of art!
And Sheema Kirmani, man!!! No amount of praise can ever do justice to what she has done!
@@WritingRahul It took me a while as well, the portion stuck in my head and it sounded so familiar that I just kept playing it on a loop in my head till I got it. Its like the bit from meri awaz suno, specially the part where Ali Azmat sings insaf do. Sheemaji is just a cultural icon
:)) such amazing talents!
I am in totally in love with this reaction ❤️
Thank you so much
Masterpiece ❤
It surely is!
Your reaction and observations make me appreciate this song even more..Thank you☺️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much 😊😊😊
A contemporary art for sure!
I found it absolutely mind blowing!!!!
Loved this song so much. I had to listen to it a second time with the subtitles to understand the lyrics. Loved the vibe, the beat, the art direction, Costumes, dance, stage design, Everything was amazing. Blurring the boundaries of traditional with contemporary. Beautiful
So true! The song works at so many levels! Been listening it on loop since yesterday!
The most raw, genuine and candid reaction . Thank u rahul
Thank you 😊😊😊
Love your videos ! Your reactions and enthusiasm is so genuine xx 🇵🇰
Thank you so much. Means a lot :))
Top notch and to the point ☝️ one of the bestest reaction among many across UA-cam 🤘🙌
Thank you so much! Really means a lot!
i liked your reaction and would like to add that the song narrative is also about inclusion and that everyone has the right to be loved and accepted in the society as they are. Those portrait are included to portray love stories of all kinds and how separation and isolation affects us all the same way. Secondly in the lyrics "zehar banay han teri, pee jawan mai poori nu" means that even if a poison is made out of you, i will even drink that completely. Keep doing these reactions as they are quite different from what others are doing.
Thank you for sharing the themes of the song. After watching it like 100 times over and listening to it in repeat since yesterday, I see the themes you mention very clearly!
And, the song has such amazing lyrics! Also, I am so bad at pretending - I put the last bit as light joke but I guess I completely failed at making it sound like one.
This is the best reaction I’ve seen on UA-cam!!!
Thank you so, so, so much! Really happy to hear this!
So realistic reactions... Incredible
Thank you so much!
i love the way you react to the video and we need people like you who know about music and singers , i will love to react on your uppcoming videos , and yes i subscribe now 100% :)

Thank you so much Sohail. Means a lot! Will keep it coming! Cheers!
You nailed it with Nazia and Zohaib vibe comment. I was trying to figure it out for such a long time
I have grown up listening to their songs. When I was a kid we had only 5 audio cassettes at our home and one of them was Young Tarang. Must have listened to that over a thousand times! Only recently I got a record of the album! So many memories i have attached to their music!
Best reaction on anything ever seen
And this song is just great 👍
This is a great song indeed! And thank you so much! U are very kind.
@@WritingRahul You are Welcome

Loved your erudite analysis. BTW, "Poori" also means "all" in Punjabi. As in "if you turned into poison, I would drink it all down" or words to that effect. This song and the video are a work of art.
Thank you so much for your kind words, means a lot!
The song has some really amazing lyrics. I put that last bit in the video as a light joke and I understand now how bad I am at cracking jokes!
The song and the video are really a high work of art! Cheers!

just discovered this channel late night this and loving it❤️🇵🇰 and puri here means "as a whole" complete"
Thank you so much!
The lyric that has got you confused at the end has to be understood in connection to the preceding verse "zeher banen han teri, pee javan mein puri nun" - "If your assent is poison, I will drink it down."
:)) I was trying to put it as a light joke at the end. (I am so bad at cracking jokes, it's not even funny !)

Thank you so much for your encouragement. Will keep them coming.
Honestly this is the best & the most analytical reaction on pasoori. The lyrics, the vocals, the arrangement is definitely a winner. But what made me the most happy is your opinion on imagery and literary references in the video. Lots of love to you Rahul sir✨🤍.
Since you asked for personal opinion ,one more thing which probably stood out & stayed with me is ,the start of the video. The instrumental part -which introduces Pasoori ,is the melody of the line- Dildaaran di,Sab Yaaran di ,azaari na Howe💫🥺🎧(kind of sums up the entire message of the song)
Hi Aayushi,
Thank you so much for your kind words. Really means a lot. This song is just amazing!
And I love the instrumental piece that opens the song! Too bad it's not in the version available on Spotify!
Also, if u enjoyed the video, please do share it. Thank you so much once again :))
'poori is something we eat' PLEASE I LAUGHED SO HARD WHEN YOU SAID THAT

This lady is Sheema kirmani , she is a very famous classical dancer of Pakistan.
She is absolutely amazing!
Wow you said that it has this Nazia Zohaib Hassan vibe going on and I felt that too. Crazy!!! That early Urdu Pop that they introduced to the subcontinent. They were the pioneers. I was a kid and I remember listening to their beautiful voices& music❤
They are and will always remain the undisputed trend setters for pop and disco music for the subcontinent! Have grown up listening to their music! Was able to get some of their albums on vinyl records as well! Nothing can ever match them!
Wow Rahul I can't believe you replied to my comment 😃 I can't believe it 😍 thank you so much.

I felt everyone knew that already :)
👏🏻👏🏻😍❤
Thank you so much
Strangely it reminds of Lahore old city area, voice of Sheagill is very earthy & unique. The dance & clothing of Ali Sethi is old Dhaka vibe. So much is happening with music, lyrics, instruments, colors, ppl ….
This song and the video - quite something! No matter how many times I watch it, its charm only grows.
Pakistan has always been a winner when it comes to music but damn this season is a masterpiece, loved your honest reaction, so beautiful 🥺
I agree. They have always been great but this season is just something else!
And thank you so much for your kind words.
Leave CS aside, I can listen to you all day and its not even Funny. ;-) Thank you
Lol!!!! That you so much!
All your quaries will be answered watching the BTS of the video. By the way, you have described and delineated the video with consummate skill and ease.
Hi
I watched the video after making the reaction video. Was thrilled to know how Ali Sethi got his lyrics and all the thought and effort they put in making this song and the video!
And thank you so much for your kind words. I studied art in college and anything beautiful and artistic just makes me so happy!
The dancer is Sheema Kermani, the foremost proponent of Bharatnatyam and kathak dance forms in Pakistan. She is also choreographer, theatre actor, producer, TV actor and a social activist working for women's rights based in Karachi. She formed Tehrik-e-Niswan (Women's Movement) in 1979. The whole visual theme for this video are the old mohallas of Lahore with multiple homes that share a common courtyard where people gather to talk and drink tea. Here this is a mohalla of artists coming together. The concept is explained very well by Coke Studio themselves in their bts video here on UA-cam, Pasoori - The Magical Journey. Well worth a watch.
Hi Marvee,
Thank you so much for sharing the information. Will also look up for more information about Sheema ji.
And Just finished watching the BTS for the song. Such an amazing set of talented people! So much of thought and effort put in!
Thank you for reviewing this gem ♥️♥️ The visual aesthetics of this video are next level !! The sari clad performer in the video is our very own Sheema Kirmani , a renowned Pakistani classical dancer , dance Guru rather ♥️♥️
