  • This weekend I was running a Outhaus Wing Tarp and his Palmerston 900 Swag, for fire I used the TJM BBQ35 Stove which did all my Cooking and myself running out of a ILBE US Army rucksack with the Modular System.

    Comfortable camp setups. Each of the camps had a very individual personality to them. Skillet from the States

    Hi, new subscriber here , excellent video...
    I thought your outhaus swag / tarp set up was far superior to the other guy's more expensive set ups..
    Really impressive...
    May I respectfully suggest the petromax storm kettle for ultra reliable ,high speed water boiling in adverse conditions ?
    I've got one and it's way out of the league of any other water boiling system I've used ...
    🙂👍

      Thank you for your Sub I hope you like the video's, my setup was really comfortable and i was warm all weekend, I do use the bigger setup sometimes which is nice but that more simple setup is more satisfying and not so complex which is great, I have had the Petromax Storm kettle and totally agree they work great.

    Jesus wept, you guys have got a LOT of kit. That is LUXURY camping.
    I'm only saying this because I'm envious; more so of the food than anything else tbh. 😅
    My wildcamping forays are done out of a rucksack and on foot, so it's the bare minimum for me, including the food.
    Your camping is on another level. A comfortable and mouth-watering level!

      There are many ways to enjoy the outdoors and I try and do all type of outdoor activities and camping from the light backpacking to a more overland setup, whatever way you enjoy the outdoors is all good fun and cooking good food always taste better when out.

      @davidfriars  5 місяців тому

      Hi Luke, the swag is the best and most comfortable sleep you will have out anywhere with a good fishing sleeping bag yo can’t go wrong plus it work great all year round especially in the winter it give you the extra warmed from the canvas. 👍

    Great setup! I’m interested on the swag and the sleeping bag.
    Can you sit inside de swag? Think I’m on ease of wearing.
    What are your impressions of the sleeping bag? I saw it on Amazon also but I’m not so confident of buying a sleeping bag without touch it before.
    Thanks

    • @davidfriars
      @davidfriars  5 місяців тому +1

      Hi Mate depending on what type of swag you are getting you can sit up inside them most of the outhaus from the 1100 wide one you can, sleeping bags all depend on how you are carrying it, if it is using the car and if you got a swag you would need a car i would go for a fishing sleeping bag plus they are fleece lined 4 to 5 season should work great that’s what i use and it very comfortable also the zip is on both side which helps.
      Hope this helps
      David

      @@davidfriars thanks for your reply.
      My plan is to get Palmerston 1500 and keep the sleeping bags inside. Basically use it as the Australians do. 4WD camp, unroll the swag with the bedding already inside. The morning after roll it up with everything inside, load it on the car and keep exploring.
      So priorities are:
      High quality and comfort for both, swag & sleeping bag.
      Thanks mate!
