Personally, my only issue with this helicopter is the road to getting it. There's no reasonable way to grind for it outside of a subpar tech tree, having premium time, and/or a subpar premium heli to "help" with that grind. This is the Gaijin way...

UHT = Unterstützungs Helikopter Tiger
In the German Bundeswehr it is named PAH2 for Panzer Abwehr Helikopter (engl. Anti tank helicopter 2), because it is the second anti tank helicopter in the german Bundeswehr after the BO105 PAH.

It’s worth it SO LONG as the enemy has NOTHING in the air because this thing can’t fight incoming aircraft (save for other helis) to save its life
First Time flying Helicopters in Ground RB?
I decimate all KA-50's in a match, but fats movers are a 50/50 thing.

my biggest gripe with the UHT is how the actual laser designator is modeled as being on the tip of the nose in game, where it SHOULD be in the FLIR suite on top of the rotors. yaknow........ kinda like how it is in real life. so sure you can scout around with just the FLIR poking over a hill but in order to lock a target you literally have to collective up and expose your entire heli, wait for the lock that may or may not happen in a timely manner, and then fire and hope there isnt a tree or building somewhere along the missiles flight path that will break line of sight and then detonate the missile. :|
that and also not having a gun kinda sucks.... the french premium tiger is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better i love that thing
Exactly my thoughts
Strengths:
Fire & Forget - Fairly strong, note it has quirks.
Great maneuverability - its very agile and chopper do flips brrrr
Weakness:
Absolutely zero defense against air targets (it has stingers lol) - Helis can be killed reliably but just know you probably wont if they're moving fast since the tracking nerf. But you rarely see fast moving helis in ground rb at least anyways.
No guns on the platform whatsoever - ties in to the no defense against air but also sucks for ground pounding. I don't think you would heli rush in this thing in ground rb and i wouldnt recommend it either as its not all that tanky. Sucks for Heli EC too but atleast its a little more forgiving there.
Germany has one of the worst premium helis in the game. Comparatively speaking for grinding in ground RB at least. For Heli EC its a little better because of its ground pounding capabilities, but nonetheless still worse than most premiums. Its very mediocre in Ground RB and really the best way to grind helis for any nation is still Heli EC. But its infested with Kamovs, it also doesn't help that Gaijin decided to add the new 28NM into the game with Vihkrs. Coupled with how harsh the helicopter grind is(aside from Russia) even with premium and a premium heli, it is extremely inaccessible to a vast majority of the community. You can either take 10 years grinding in ground RB or risk your sanity and play Heli EC to grind out the tree within a month or two depending on how hard you go (with Premium time and Heli). In the long run its prob worth, but the grind is absolutely brutal. It's no coincidence not a lot of people have this chopper in the German top tier lineup.
I also don't have a bias against Russia, if it seems that way. I'm just pointing out the obvious. Russian Helis are the easiest to grind both in ground rb and Heli EC, KA50 is the best premium heli in the game for a reason, its just literally the most efficient heli grinder.
Yes,the heli grinding for german tech tree is completely brutal & cruel if I may add. Not for the weak hearts. You either go mad grinding it or go home and then complain why german always suffers at high br. Its crazy.. thats the way it is.

The grind to it alone makes it not worth it. It’s pretty much impossible to get to it if you’re f2p and the premium Mi-24 is absolutely necessary. Not only that but it will require GE if you want to get the PARS since it is a glorified Japanese UH-1 stock.
And worse, the premium Mi-24 is already overpriced for a premium AND subpar compared to any competition it'll face. I keep telling myself I'll get around to it eventually (since I mainly play US and Germany), but every time I see the road to the UHT I start asking why bother?

I would rate ah mk1 higher than ah 64d mainly because starstreaks are actually useful in certain situations.

@@cristobalalvarez5491 aim 9l is pretty good, but AH-1Z is the only heli that has them. US apachies all use stingers and as we saw in the video, nobody should count on stingers to do anything.
@@cristobalalvarez5491 beside, you have to sit behind the enemy if you want to have a good lock and launch the sidewinder. Starstreak can hit on headon

This particular Heli is PUZZILING
In some updates, it gets buffed where you fire and forget literally and the target will have no escape
Other updates it gets messed with and missile requires constant lock on or just open desert map.
It is a hit or miss. So grind it and unlock it for the good days and keep as a last resort in bad days
The PARS is so inconsistent it’s really annoying. You cannot use it past 5km in my opinion as they just have a random chance to explode in mid air.
Thats the main problem I think, sometimes it guides perfectly and others just imolates if the target crosses a little bush, i had no problems with the range itself but if the misile doesnt go to the target from above it will loose track, for that you need altitude and thats difficult to get
Maybe you prefere like HAP play only with HoT3 or like HAD with Hellfire who are inconsistent too and miss when target forward closer to you? The HuT is the only one who can easily evade SAM and kill them finger in the nose with this French system!!

No. Unless you keep an absolute perfectly clear view on the target until your fire and forget gets to the target, that atgm will self-destruct halfway to the target if they so much as get behind a bush. It's slow compared to the Ka's and has no way to fight other helicopters like the Ka's do. It also doesn't do too great getting away from SAM's, but your fire and forgets are (most of the time) faster than the SAMs and I have eaten a missile from an ADATS that I subsequently killed. If you aren't watching spawns the SAMs will get the first shot on you and that's what's gonna get you. If the f+fs had better tracking memory, then maybe it would be easier to play, but you really have to rely on enemies being out in the open.
I'd have to disagree, PARS missiles are very effective against helicopters and SAMs (since they usually spawn in the open and don't have smoke). The only advantage that ka50/52 have over UHT in heli vs heli combat is range, which is a pain in heli EC, but it not a problem in ground RB.
@@kostab92 That's what I tried saying near the end. The PARS is effective, but only if you get the first shot off and then move.
@@doopa3218 But that's how you play UHT, stay low, kill SAMs and helis first, then fly as high as you can, dump remaining missiles and bugger off before those dudes you killed spawn in SAMs

This thing is such BS. I own it, it's an easy 4 kills atleast everytime I take it out. If you're playing it safe most AA can't see you let alone shoot you down.
The fire and forget combined with it's ability to stay in cover is OP. The skill requirements to do well in this ridiculously low compared to the apaches. If anyone gets pissed enough and spawns in a jet, you're probably stuffed, but not before you've gotten a few kills.
Love this heli, but I feel guilty flying it, and I feel like I haven't earned my kills.
Fire and forget systems never should have been added to the game. They're cool, but they lower the skill cap for top tier.
Or listen give the usa and Britain their brimstone missiles their a combination of pars and valkyrie
@@cristobalalvarez5491 I'd rather systems like this not be in the game at all. I don't think fire and forget is a good mechanic. While you can argue it makes the game more realistic, I don't think it actually improves the game, only worsens it.

Also the Apache according to Australia, has an extra 1100 kg of armor compared to the Tiger but that means absolutely nothing in War Thunder.

There are 2 types of tiger, one with a cannon and one without thought the one with the cannon is currently only in the French Rex tree, Germany does use them

Im having kind of trouble locking on tanks, it’s like I have to click and activate/deactivate the lock on a couple times until it fixes on. Also if there’s a dead tank nearby it somehow automatically always locks on the dead one… is there any reason why all that is?

That's the Pars 3 LR missile. Learn to read the stats of the secondary weapons.
You need to in the controlls and I think it's called air to ground or something. Just search for it and test if it works

Funny how the Russians and Germans get their latest heli ATGM but the US doesn’t. The Hellfire has so many variants but Gaijin purposely cherry picks which you get.
The tiger has half the atgms of the 10.3 Apache while its at 11.3. So why are you complaining? Maybe Gaijin should move the Apache to 3.0?
