Great channel! I can’t believe I haven’t found you sooner. You were shouted out by Bigby McFly the comic guy and I’m glad he chose you! Congrats on an amazing, historical book! That is my absolute grail as I’m trying to get the whole Lee/Kirby run but will probably have to settle for the Golden Records Reprint and that’s ok. Very happy you were able to add this to your collection!
Congrats to you! Hell of a book for the pc. Don’t blame ya for not wanting to sell books lately. It’s pretty rough sometimes. Good job. On to the next!
*_Looking at that book, my mind races._* *_I know what I would do, I would crack it, dry clean it, press it and give it some blue light therapy to get white pages._* *_That would bump it to a 3.0 or higher._*
Congratulations on your acquisition. I have all the Marvel Silver Age superhero first appearance mega grails, purchased between 2009 and 2016, except FF1. By the time I wanted to get one it was already out of my price range.
Great pickup! I'd love to have a FF 1 just for the historical significance. Sounds like you were financially prepared, so you should feel good about the purchase. Strange that it took so long to get the book from Heritage. In my experiences, Heritage has always been fast with shipping. Then again, I pay with a credit card and I'm not buying FF 1's.
Wow bro! Your are definitely killing it with these grails! I was super jealous when you got your Asm 1, then your AF 15.... But this is the topper!! Beautiful presentation on that 2.0! Love your honesty in your videos and content! Where the heck do u go from here? You seem to have all the "grails"! I still need to get an AF 15, but not sure how that's going to happen! 😢😢😢
What art do you have on your walls? It looks like you have a broader taste in visuals than the typical comic book channel on here. Would you ever do a tour of your non-comics objets d'art?
It was beginning to sound like Mrs. Long Box wasn't going to get her second honeymoon until you revealed the back inventory flush... Awesome to see you get another big gun. I came across a deal for ASM 1, 2, and 3 about 20 years ago and was able to trade up on my 2 and 3 and keep 1, still no AF15. Lots of top 20 issues of FF, but no 1. One day....
That buyers premium is a huge change. I wonder if you also had to pay tax? I recently bought a book and ended up having $400 in taxes that I forgot to calculate, and it really through my bank account into an uproar.
@3:32, "This is a book that I never thought I would hold hold in my hands". Well, you still don't. It's sealed in plastic, it's just a big trading card now!
Just discovered your channel and subbed, and bid on your Dept of Truth #1Werther Dell'Edera. Been eying that book and love supporting a fellow grail hunter (got my AF15 last year too!)
I bought a translated version of Fantastic Four # 1 back in 1978 and that is all I will need, As a comic book it is not that great and, yes, it is start of the Marvel revolution of the sixties, but everything could just get better!
Congratulations, I do appreciate the way you take care of your books and your quick shipping. Thank you for your videos and for being a great human being.
Do you ever consider instead just saving up for 1 solid higher grade SA or even mid grade GA issue rather than spending money on more poor grade books?
That book is an investment. It's only going to appreciate in value. Nice get. Smart move selling your other books to purchase this book. Those Invincible books will not hold their value as well as that FF 1.
Congratulations! That’s awesome! I love hearing the stories behind picking up a book like that and how you help finance it. Always fun hearing a fellow collectors plans and processes
Congrats buddy! It's good how you planned for this purchase and made sure you had all of your ducks in a row. My grail a few years ago was Batman Adventures #12. That was the most I have ever spent on a book. Albeit a cgc 9.8. I have purchased several other books since then that were on my hot list, but that one takes the cake. It's probably the most expensive book in my collection. It's doubled in value and then some since I bought it almost 5 years ago. I'd say it was worth it.
Amazing! The extra fee after the auction insane! I can understand your buyers remorse. Been there! Well done for selling to pay for this. Been watching your videos for a few years and love them. Unboxing grade reveals are great!
It’s a beautiful copy. Looks better than a 2.0, the back is really nice too. Such a solid investment. That buyers premium from Heritage is awful. What a ripoff but not much you can do about it. I miss your videos where you pick up those huge stacks from cons 🤣
A BP is standard for any auction house. If you're bidding and don't realize that you need to add 20% to the bid price -- which is shown on the page -- then that's on you, not the auction house.
@@mattjvictory I know what the buyers premium is. That’s why I don’t buy from auction houses. Why would I want to give them a free 20 percent. There are cheaper options available.
@Michael Sharkey as a consumer, it's your decision on where to buy from so i have no issue with that, but the bp is part of the final price. Go on a site like go collect and the price shown always includes an auction houses bp. Sometimes you'll win auctions from those places cheaper than you would on somewhere like ebay or an independentdealers site (including the bp), and sometimes you'll pay more. That's just the auction game in general, but the bp doesn't mean "you're paying more", it's just part of the final price.
@@mattjvictory if GoCollect is adding in that premium that’s artificially inflating the actual price of the book. It’s a so called administrative fee and shouldn’t be used to calculate the actual value of the book. Just my opinion and there a much better options than auction houses that don’t charge a 20 or 30 percent fee.
@@michaelsharkey4255 All of the comic tracking sites include an auctions houses' BP as part of the price. Your choice to not buy from an auction house, but you are bound to lose out on great deals because of it.
Congratulations!!! 🔥 Great timing on that purchase, too! The earliest FF I have is 3, 4.0 slabbed, co-owned with my brother, so we will sell it at some point. My LCS has an FF 2 for $1,250, looks like a 3.5 … any advice on a counter-offer? Or is that a good price?
Do you really say that Stan Lee did not claim to the be creator of Fantastic Four and Spider-Man? He was standing on the shoulders of giants (Kirby and Ditko). A great salesman and self promoter and medioctre totally dependent on the talent he worked with.
Congratulations. Hey I didn’t realize that you sell on eBay. Last week I purchased the tiny onion SiKtC #21 from you. So thanks. You really sent it quickly and it looks great.
Congratulations! So happy for you. A great collecting achievement.
Congratulations on an amazing vintage Gold book. Thanks for sharing Your passion and adventures from Toronto Ontario Canada 😀 👍 ❤️ 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 ❤️✨️✨️✨️💯💯💯
Wow, congrats! Great price. Let the hobby pay for itself!
Congratulations! Amazing book!
So happy for you, huge congrats 🎈🍾🎉
As they say "Welcome to the club!"...congratulations!
Congratulations. That is truly awesome 😊
Congrats! Great story, too.
Congrats on acquiring an amazing grail! I hope you find joy owning it. Getting a decent presenting copy under 10k is amazing.
CONGRATS! That’s my grail!!
Wow! Great job Longbox Live Affair
Fantastic one!👋👋Congrats!
Congratulations!! This is our favorite Marvel comic. This FF1 perfectly defines historical and pop culture value.
Congrats, that presents beautifully for a 2.0 and is only going up!
Awesome man. Congrats to you. Mega grail.

Great looking book👍
Congratulations on a fantastic purchase! Looking back at GPA, it looks like you nailed the absolute low price paid for that grade.
Congrats to you! Hell of a book for the pc. Don’t blame ya for not wanting to sell books lately. It’s pretty rough sometimes. Good job. On to the next!
Cool. Around 15:20 of this video you created your own "infinity cover video". Congrats on maybe the most important silver age key!
So awesome man! Congrats!!

Oh wow. Thats a keeper.
Wow you got the big boy books, congrats

Can't fault you for getting that book. Auction prices are steeper though... That hurts.
great book!
One of my grails too.
Regretfully I don't own FF1 but do own FF5 on 7.0
Congrats.

When the movie comics out, you'll get a 50% return if you sell it. Id be too tempted to crack it and read it.
Congratulations a prize pick up.

I bought a translated version of Fantastic Four # 1 back in 1978 and that is all I will need, As a comic book it is not that great and, yes, it is start of the Marvel revolution of the sixties, but everything could just get better!
I hate the concept of collectors selling. However, you seriously made all the right decisions here. No contest, zero regrets!

good lawd!
I guessed correctly it was gonna be Fantastic Four #1! Congratulations on the book!

Very nice book, money is just paper that looses value over time anyways!
Surprised you're not recording this video form a prison cell....you just stole that book!! Great pickup
Awesome purchase! That is a chunk of money, but definitely worth it!
Congrats Mike! That's a banger for sure. I agree with your philosophy about collecting these days. Awesome
Couldn’t you deduct the cost of FF1 for advertising you eBay sales channel?
Congratulations on getting the book. I remember when you got the amazing fantasy 15. You’ve been having a good couple of years. Great job!
you made out like a bandit! Recently bought GSX #1 4.5 for $1500...under GPA but not as good of a deal as yours.
A huge congrats to you!!!! I'm trying to get an X-Men #1 right now. Hopefully I can get one for a good price like you just got your FF#1.
Congrats on an amazing purchase.

If u got that book in 2013or 15 for 1200 bucks with a VG
