A lot of American Football players actually play Rugby on the side, in order to toughen themselves up for when the American Football season starts. Though the first thing they realise when they play Rugby for the first time, is they really don't have very good stamina, even after years in playing American Football, they manage a few minutes and they're exhausted... I wish I could remember the guys name (it's been 11 years), but he said that after just 8 minutes playing his first Rugby game, he was at the sideline puking from the constant running he was having to do. Similarly in the video Rugby Helps American Football, a player said that after just 2 minutes he was begging the coach to take him off field as he was just too exhausted from all the running.
When it comes to toughness, Rugby players can often break their bones during play, but as long as they can keep running and hold the ball, many will opt to continue playing. Regularly they have to get sent off the field by the referee for their own good the injuries are so severe... check out Anthony Tupou and his jaw injury! How many American Football players do you reckon would want to continue playing with that sort of injury? 😁🏥
