I bought mine Lufkin rule at Lowes 2 or 3 years ago and the last I remember they're still there, at least in my area. You can usually find them at flea markets though and they work just as well if not better.
The folding rule I have is made by Lufkin. They used to be available everywhere because they were preferred by carpenters prior to the perfection of the tape measure. I don't know where to get on now.
I really enjoyed your videos, but they raise a question: are you right or left handed? I see you writing with your left, but complained that you had to saw left handed when carving the knuckles.

Ted, somethings I do better with my left, some my right. Some I can do with either hand and some with neither.
