this song has so much in it, and you really have to just sit and listen to the whole thing to get it. feels like it takes you on a journey across a continent. and the other thing is that the singers are so talented. their voices just ring out right when it's important, moments like 4:30-4:52 just stand out. and the MUSIC, the power that comes out at 8:14 was unbelievable the first time I heard it. that descending motif at 8:46 makes me feel something that I felt maybe only once before, I can't even really describe it. like right at the moment you know you'll never return home, that your old life is gone forever. god damn this track is wild, there's nothing else like it
song was so good u had to make an essay after 1 year of listening
not saying thats a bad thing- its honestly showing how good this song is frfr
Shame they haven't released anyhting in a while
@@aetergator7020 WOOPS misread your comment* ----- yeah dude I had enough and decided I wanted to share my thoughts and point out to people exactly how and where I think it's special
@@DeSinc yeah thats how i knew it was 1 year of listening when i said it
@@aetergator7020 OH I didn't even read you said 1 year LOL, I read it as "1 time listening" for some reason. I edited my og comment to properly reply to yours now
How can a band be so good and so underrated at the same time? It makes no sense
Who knows, it pisses me off too how it’s so common for good bands to be overshadowed by other popular bands, but those are more popular because of their mainstream elements in their songs, don’t get me wrong, bands like that are also great but bands like this who stray from the norm should also have a chance and should be listened to just the same as the others.
@@SOUNDCLOUD.COM_JABRONZKI I have adhd and can’t listen to anything under like 5 minutes, it’s just too short
Why would you want something as good as this to be wasted on the masses? A bunch of Orcs who have no taste, creativity, no understanding of music theory. I like that I have "my" music which is unknown to them, untainted by mediocrity...
@@LintRiggs_ True but what about the bands, saying you don’t want them to be popular just because u want them to yourself is selfish. These bands deserve so much more than what they already have and even though I agree with you to some extent, I would be way happier for the bands if they got the attention they deserved.
Juked’em Well said
hidden gem 👌
Such an incredibly powerful song
Truly a beautiful work of art, love the choral performances in here!
Stunning work. The best songs grow on you with repeated listens.
Excellent track. Highly underrated I should say.
this song gives me genuine shivers its SOOOOOOO good
Sucks I didn't listen to this when it was released...my hearing was way better than it is now. This song reminds me alot of the stuff I used to listen to way back in the day when things were better haha. Solid work though!
I've been listening Xanthocroid for about 6 or 7 years, i feel so blessed for knowing this band, they were so underrated, i think the band had an Sad and Beautiful end. They made a fucking last album separeted in two parts, both had good songs, it's sad to think that they won't do it again..I.hope to be wrong, but Matthew lives in one city and Sam and his wife lives in other, now they have a family and it seems like they put music aside.
Sam released a solo album on spotify a few years ago and Matthew works for a video game music studio, both did not give up on music, you should give a listen to their more recent work, though it's very different from xanthochroid
@@fawfox480 what are their projects called
@@ayko_osu246 Matthew has links on metal encyclopedia. Basically makes your usual video game ost, and while it's decent, it's nothing interesting, comparably to some other game composers I know of (Darren Korb/Ashley Barrett, Chris Christodolou, Christopher Larkin, Hakita). Couldn't find a single thing of Sam's though
5:50 that part
Holy fuck those vocals are too good
one of a few things that really motivate me to scale from millionaire to billionaire, one of very few cases of inequity and grief that I really care about
I want to mend it...irrationally
just a sight of this dying talent pulls me up more than sex drive, my fears or dreams
One dislike bro how could you not like this masterpiece
9:48 ascending
//The sound of a glinting blade//
I heard the Forest sing
Songs of my youth
I’d never felt such pain before
You held my hand that day
You were my Sun before the dawn
The darkened morning I have loved so long
I don’t recall that day
And I never thought of you when I cried
You know the place
And I never wondered why
Where memory sleeps and secrets hide
You left so suddenly
Silence fills this place
Naught but a memory of your embrace
You, servile and sweet
Soft as the sediment beneath our feet
Far beyond the trees
We roamed
Yet, now, I plead:
Recall the plans we made
Dreams once so bold
The jealous Sun stood still and cold
What now has time revealed?
A tepid pool of youth misspent
A faded tapestry of dreams undreamt
Strange, how you recount
Wanton days, blissful nights
Strange, as it seems,
There was suffering
And pain you never knew
How could you?
Do not welcome Death
He offers no peace
For even in death
We will know the pains
We have left behind
Far beyond the trees
I long to be
A deeper stream
Free from
Flows endlessly
Your incessant dream
Toward my dream
//The sound which has no name//
No ancient script
Was ever writ
No jewel-decked throne
On which to sit
Soaring high,
The Watcher waits
To slake his thirst
To clean his plate
His jaws agape
His claws unfurled
The Winged-Watcher
Swallows the world
The oceans rise and fall
With his heaving chest
And in the wind
We feel his breath
No cries are heard
No tears are wept
For wise ones know
The bond once kept
The price he asked;
The cost of death:
A single drop,
Still glistening wet,
Of crystal'd pain
To pay a debt
As time went on
The debt accrued
And we foolish Men
The price refused
Now all is lost
And we, Erthwile
Peer at the stars
Through his crooked smile
Your soul is crumbling, rotting
Beneath the chains of hate
Can you hear those mournful, helpless cries?
The sound which has no name
Open your eyes
The blackened fog has blinded you
And with this darkness you have shrouded
Our deep and wooded home
He is our fatal end
Our recompense
He is the fear
We all can sense
The creeping serpent
The reeking breath
The fangs of Erebus
The certainty of Death
The fangs of Erebus
The certainty of Death

It is, the band is xanthochroid
@@jukedem but i meant its 2 songs put together
@@simley_face yeah that is quite annoying
@@simley_face they are two songs. Turn off the shuffle and they should play one after another
@@simley_face honestly I like that it’s seperated. It gives this sense of continuity
This is black metals Bohemian Rhapsody.
