      Yes Mr Pilipe, the part you mention more light more CO², thats informative as many water plant planting lover will forget about this theory and everything will go hey wire once alge starts to sit in...i have also read about water flow and others in-balance...that will cause the set up to crash...im looking forward to your next video.Dr Speed aka Nickshome. Cheerz!

      Water flow is very important for a planted tank but doesn't need to be too strong. More strong it is, more oxygenation you have. Water must flow gently and reach the entire tank so CO2 can reach all plants and dissolve in the proper way. There are lot of wrong information out there and people just messing their tanks because they get wrong info and they don't have patience at all to wait for results.
      They forget the most important thing about aquascaping, it was made for relaxing and not to stress..

      Usually I have more pearling, but since I wanted to record the video I had to switch off the CO2 a few hours before just to keep it clean. Some parts of the video were recorded after I switched again the CO2 to show what comes from the reactor.
      A video about my favorite tanks can a good idea, I'm sure lot of people have seen them already but they don't have any idea who made them.

      Thanks for your feedback. About the CO2, it depends on your CO2 diffuser or reactor. If you can't read it from the plants, I suggest to you the use of a drop checker. Try to keep the CO2 levels light green to yellow under very intense light. Moderate light, green to light green is enough.. And always keep an eye on your fish's behavior, if they are to close of water surface and stressed, you need to decrease the CO2 a little bit. Hope it helps 😉

    I learned so much thing from your video s. One question I have how do you measure the ppm values of the fertilizer s you are using? I mean are you using some tools to measure?

    • @FAAOAquascaping
      @FAAOAquascaping  3 роки тому +1

      I stop measuring values... I don't remember last time I did and I'm not chasing them. I'm just relying on what each fertilizer mentions in the label, then by looking to the plants, I just dose more or less... Since I'm doing lean fertilization routine, I never have nutrients in excess, so anytime I dose something will be immediately taken by the plants.

    • @FAAOAquascaping
      @FAAOAquascaping  4 роки тому +1

      No. That one is a Chihiros powerjet filter, very similar to ADA. It does 900L/H.
      The CO2 reactor is installed in the outflow. You should never install a CO2 reactor in the inlet tube otherwise you will kill the bacteria and damage the impeller of the filter.

  • @1991watch
    @1991watch 4 роки тому

    Hi Filipe, what do you recommend to keep a clear sand path in the middle? Similar to how this tank was in the beginning. I have a winding white sand path in the middle but worried the slope of Amazonia pebbles will go onto the white sand. Is it risky to wait for my plants to root to create that natural barrier? i.e. will it happen fast enough. also I heard best to wait for shrimps, because they can roll down the pebbles

    • @FAAOAquascaping
      @FAAOAquascaping  4 роки тому

      Big slopes and shrimps are a nightmare unless you let the soil compact, plants start to spread and almost cover it.
      Then you just trim them near the sand and lower you can, then you can easily remove the excess like I did few days ago to keep that place clean.
      instagram.com/p/CCEB8HYn9Bv/?igshid=ndyfij2ixsrs
      But in the beginning you need to vacuum it a few times and be adding more sand to keep it nice. When it matures will be much easier to handle.

    • @1991watch
      @1991watch 4 роки тому

      @@FAAOAquascaping ah perfect, would you suggest putting lots of sand in the beginning or less and then adding more later. I mean while waiting for soil to compact and plant roots to create barrier. When you meant vacuum? you mean vacuum the soil pebbles out from the sand?

      @FAAOAquascaping  2 роки тому

      The problem is not in the hard water but in the plants you have and how heavily planted it is. We don't fertilize by hardness but by plant mass and plants needs. Having Co2 or not, will change how much fertilization and how often you must fertilize.

    • @FAAOAquascaping
      @FAAOAquascaping  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Yamil. They aren't round... But also not so pointy and thin like sometimes we see. This is related to water parameters, CO2, light and fertilization. Rotalas can change a bit, sometimes when I dose less and they are close to light, they become smaller.

    Thank you for This video 👍👍👍. I see that you have RAMs with shrimps. Is the co-existence good? Did you have any problems?

      Hi Lorenzo, Rams and Neocaridinas is not good idea... They will end up being eaten. If you have japonicas, they are a bit bigger and it's safe, not a problem 😉

    11 hours of Light? Is not too much? Usualy people use 8 hours, if you use less nutrients isn't 11 hours a lot?

      I'm a bit crazy... And yes, it's a lot!
      Sometimes I have requests to have tanks running for 11-12h day, if it's placed in a public area and to make that possible, I need to try it at home and make it work.
      It's not advised... For normal plants 7-8h, Echinodorus 9-10h. 😉

    É sempre bom ver portugueses na linha da frente e dentro dos melhores 😉
    Surgiu-me uma dúvida, que luzes usas para background? É alguma sistema específico para isso ou algo caseiro à base de led strips?

      Obrigado Cristiano. Não sei como é feito este painel traseiro porque não o fiz e nunca desmontei algum.
      Não me parece que seja feito com tiras de Led, até porque na empresa onde trabalho na Holanda temos alguns e um deles chegou partido no meio, se fosse feito de tiras ao ligar não ficava com aquele aspecto.
      Parece-me mais um painel LCD que um simples acrílico com tiras de Led.

      @@FAAOAquascaping obrigado, como nunca me cruzei com nenhum painel desses pensei que fosse algo improvisado. Boa continuação 😉
