At 2:20 you have text on screen reading "Really dumb on my part not to turn the spool before taking out the handle and drag compression washers". Can you explain what you mean by turning the spool and why you would need to do so? I am looking to install a drag clicker in my new SLX DC XT and I haven't seen anyone mention turning the spool as part of the installation steps. I just want to make sure I don't do anything wrong.
It's nothing major to worry about. If my memory serves me right I had the drag backed all the way off so I had alittle trouble getting I think it was a nut off. I corrected it by assembling and engage the drag. It's nothing to worry about just follow the same steps. Becareful when taking apart your slx dc xt. I had troubles with couple of screws that ended up stripping.
I haven't went about doing it as yet because it's not top priority. But I suggest if you're in the same position you can get a screw extraction kit. That's mostly my solution as well abd they are very simple to use.
@Tackle Addict GY I thought you have done on your reel, yes I have same issue with my 2017 reel which one screw is stuck. Thank you for the suggestion.
Just get the kit bro. I'll be using the same kit when I'm ready. I'm not in a hurry because my dc xt is brand new and I don't need to do any work inside.
No major advantage. It's like adding rims on a car or a after market audio set up in your car. Personally I did it to get the sound. Something about the sound of the drag going off wakes me up.
I didn't mean "wake up" literally. Ever hooked into a big fish and your drag is screaming? The surge of energy you get from that is what I meant by "wake up" thanks for the support my friend. Tight lines.
Not necessarily. Because I'm using 1 carbonfiber disc the drag ratings remain the same BUT because I added a few metal disc the drag response is alittle faster interms of when locking down the drag. There isn't much significant changes being done to the drag system except the clicker being added. In terms of increasing the drag force more carbon fiber or felt washers needed to be add in between the metal disc. I DO NOT RECOMMEND INCREASING ANY REEL DRAG FORCE.
@@Sanotsuke yes! When placing your order the guy will ask what make and modle reel you need a clicker for. I link his contact info in the descriptions.

@@tackleaddictgy ah good to know 🙂 thanks. I only use my bc for active fishing so its not so much needed to give me a wake up.
