I'm pretty sure this is the most impressive woodwind thing I've seen in my life. Not even close. The story telling, the hold back with the overtone at 6:33? Wild.
This is genius. One of the most exquisite oboe pieces I've EVER heard (and I've heard some really brilliant ones!!). WOW. Thanks for your gift to the world, DBT!!!
It has the quirkiness that reminds me particularly of the video game Jedi Fallen Order's music. I am sure there are a lot more interesting comparisons, but if anyone knows the music from it, especially the Bogano planet music I'd like to know if you agree
I studied a book called Oboe Unbound, which also has a website of audio examples of each technique. You can search that and find the author Libby Van Cleve's website. But I also found out from the player on my piece that those techniques don't necessarily work from instrument to instrument, so each player works out their own version of how exactly to play the effect.

Thanks so much!
An exquisite and virtuosic performance of an exceptional piece.

Awesome instrument!
1:24. How did you do that?!? I’m an oboist of 13 years. I’ve never in my life heard something like that

I'm glad to hear that you like it, 😊
Dear David! I liked very much your piece! I would to adapt it for flute!))
Lovely idea! :)
