Corduroy is an undervalued material. I have missed seeing your happy smiling face for a while because for the last 14 weeks I have been locked in isolation in the Intensive Care Ward of The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne Australia. When I was admitted late one evening I was told by the Nurse that the infection was very advanced and that I had a maximum of two days to live. The next morning the Doctor in charge told me that I would not see the end of the day. But on last Monday I was transferred out of Intensive Care. I've got a way to go yet, but I am pleased to be back watching your always interesting presentation. Keep well and wash your hands. Phil.

My general rule is to go with a shade of brown shoes that's darker, or that has strong red-ish/orange-ish tones, navy shoes, or burgundy. Btw, I also have those corduroy and they are magic! It’s a great pattern for a sports jacket; I have a couple of them, and I think they are versatile and stylish when you want to make just a little bit of a statement for business casual or smart casual. That's a great looking sport coat! Both looks are nice, cream definitely being the safer choice. The tan corduroy trousers is the look I prefer, though. I like the jacket, but I don't think the cream trousers go well with it. It's a fall/winter jacket, but the cream trousers are def. a more spring/summer look. I'm not sure I'd mix the two looks. As far as the brown trouser, I think it def. provided a more consistent ensemble, but I'd probably step outside the box and pair the jacket with orange, olive green, or dark red trousers with a simple black turtleneck sweater or white oxford--no tie, of course!

The cream pants are definitely my style and I would wear them when I was dressed to impress, but in the real world I would wear the corduroy trousers to death. To be honest, I love them cream trousers. The contract is more subtle and doesn't take away from the jacket. It's a shame I feel I can't pull off the cream trouser look.

Cream trousers for sure! I think brown shoes and trousers work, you just need a much darker shade of brown on the shoes. Another option with brown trousers would be navy or forest green shoes, which would be more casual, but still look amazing.
What’s up, Andrew? You’re right regarding some brown shoes working with brown trousers. Personally I just don’t want to deal with it and just wear black since I don’t think you can go wrong with it. Green I’ve thought of but not navy, but it could probably work too since navy is close to black.
Its actually very simple to assemble a cordinated color. It has to do with mathematics. The sport coat color (let say windowpanr), you just simply notice the number of color mixed into the sportcoat. Example if the sportcoat has a combination of blue, brown and gray. Then u have 3 choices to your trousers. Blue, brown or grey. Thats it. Its actually harder on solid color sportcoats/jackets. Just my 2 cents
What’s up, bro? I agree although I’d say using your example, not all 3 colors would have the same effect as you also have to take the scale of said colors into consideration. So if the blue happens to be navy and is the primary color, it could technically work but the brown and grey would look much better. Navy is a dominant color and can make the whole jacket look navy from a distance, so there wouldn’t be enough contrast.

The cream trousers could work with other shoe colors as well. I was more saying black shoes for the brown trousers. But I do think that the black shoes work with cream as well since it goes with most trouser colors. But it probably wouldn't be my first choice with the cream. Thanks for the comment.

Since you asked 🙂 personally I'd wear a light pink shirt with Burgundy shoes, or off white or light green shirt with tan shoes. I'm a fan of earthy tones especially when it's cold. I only own two pairs of black footwear, black captoe oxfords for formal events and black leather zip up whole cut boots with dark denim when the bad ass wants to come out a little stronger 😜
"Just wear anything" is my brother's style. He wears an overcoat with herringbone pattern with his sport joggers. And I can understand him. He is 16 and hi is so passionate about coding and don't want to spend time on anything else.
Although I like the cream trousers, the brown cords look the best in this case. I'm surprised you didn't also put forth a medium to dark blue trouser as well? I definitely noticed the brown tones in the coat once you put the trousers next to it. I'd wear the darker pair of trousers, I don't really like cream colored pants, but you rock them! The shoes... I'm not a split-toe kinda guy, but again you wear them well. I doubt I'd ever wear black with brown, the shoes are too dark with either pant. I'd say a chocolate pair of shoes with the tan pants and if you really want to stick with black shoes, I'd wear a dark, deep brown trouser instead. Just how I'd do it tho. I happen to be one of those people who, while I don't think it's bad at all to wear black shoes with brown clothes, thinks it's simply not aesthetically pleasing to me as a nice pair of dark brown shoes with med brown trousers. I know in Europe, especially English men, wear black with brown, partly because they see brown shoes as only meant for the country...."no brown in town". They relegate brown to rustic and rural environments. But here in the good ole' US of A, we've never associated brown with complete informality, although black is much more formal. That being said, a pair of cords are as informal you can get. So, I think brown shoes look much better with brown. Although SptDs are very informal, black shoes look out of place with brown pants to my eye. 'Too much of a contrast. I've seen people wear black with cream, but you need to able to pull that off before trying it. I wouldn't ever suggest people start doing that unless they've got themselves together and know what they are doing. But reasonable men may differ and you look good in them anyway. For me the jury is still out on Chinese-made shoes. I have some and the leather quality is questionable. And I know how they advertise the construction and quality, but a neutral person has to go to the factory and tell me they've seen how the shoes are made or I need to see a pair well-worn before I know the level of quality.....Some countries have strict ad and marketing and consumer truth laws and others don't. When it comes. to trade and consumer protection, China hasn't been the best of partners and is behind the rest of the world. with sales marketing requirements. 'Sorry about the long reply. I just ordered a pair of navy and brown plaid wool trousers, navy v-neck sweater, solid brown self tie bowtie not sure on my shirt I have several to choose from and to top it off will wear my Carlos Santos Wingtip Derby.
The brown trousers are stunning with that outfit. Creme more for spring/summer. Black shoes: okay. Dark brown maybe better? I totally like that the look stands out, not the standard blue sport coat/khaki combination

I like the video. The sport coat is great. I prefer the cords. I do not love white/cream pants in the winter. I would also pair that jacket with navy slacks.

What’s up, Daniel? There is a formula which is to have someone measure you from the base of the back collar to the floor and divide it by 2, that should be the jacket’s length. But you really just want it cover your whole seat, that’s the key.

Vlad, to me the fist look fits you personally much better though the second is also interesting. As it comes to shoes, with the first look it might be better to use burgundy ST's You previously overviewed on the channel (Not sure thay fit You "like a glove" 😁 ). It will bring some essential color pop due to You use muted pocket square in here and no stand out colors. Btw, burgundy is a bit closure to the whole "browny" pallete. I’m not sure nearly $600 for an outfit is a deal, but the combination is nice. I’d suggest getting similar items used and take them to a tailor and you’ll likely have spent $50- &150 max.
I like both combinations you made and love the shoes, but never in black...sorry! Dark brown or ox blood/ burgundy would be much better. The shirt could also be pink, which I would prefer, a little more contrast. A sutle blue stripe shirt maybe interesting. Cheers!

Vladimir, I watched your channel for the first time, it was informative and I plan on contuing watching, I did check out Spier Mackay, saw quite a bit I liked and started to order a Jacker,,,, but,,, I am 6'3" 212lbs (this morning's weight) and 46 L fits perfectly, the size for the jacket I was interested in maxed out at a petite 44 L, I reviewed many other options with them and found that 44 L was a common upper limit, if you can recommend other suppliers for bigger viewers, thanks in advance Martin

That’s true, not that many guys know about heavier flannel fabrics in cream. A lot of people think that cream is just for Spring and Summer.

I like the jacket, but I don't think the cream trousers go well with it. It's a fall/winter jacket, but the cream trousers are def. a more spring/summer look. I'm not sure I'd mix the two looks. As far as the brown trouser, I think it def. provided a more consistent ensemble, but I'd probably step outside the box and pair the jacket with orange, olive green, or dark red trousers with a simple black turtleneck sweater or white oxford--no tie, of course!
What’s up, Marcus? Although cream is associated with Spring/Summer, these are flannel trousers that weigh over 13 ounces, so definitely a Fall/Winter fabric. But I’m with you on green and even possibly orange trousers pairing nice with it. Black turtleneck is also always a good look.

The cream pants are definitely my style and I would wear them when I was dressed to impress, but in the real world I would wear the corduroy trousers to death. Corduroy has dropped out of fashion in Australia, but I think that they are very underrated. The brown "Cords" look superb with a cable knit cream wool jumper and boots.

Cream trousers for sure! I think brown shoes and trousers work, you just need a much darker shade of brown on the shoes. Another option with brown trousers would be navy or forest green shoes, which would be more casual, but still look amazing.
What’s up, Andrew? You’re right regarding some brown shoes working with brown trousers. Personally I just don’t want to deal with it and just wear black since I don’t think you can go wrong with it. Green I’ve thought of but not navy, but it could probably work too since navy is close to black.
Its actually very simple to assemble a cordinated color. It has to do with mathematics. The sport coat color (let say windowpanr), you just simply notice the number of color mixed into the sportcoat. Example if the sportcoat has a combination of blue, brown and gray. Then u have 3 choices to your trousers. Blue, brown or grey. Thats it. Its actually harder on solid color sportcoats/jackets. Just my 2 cents
What’s up, bro? I agree although I’d say using your example, not all 3 colors would have the same effect as you also have to take the scale of said colors into consideration. So if the blue happens to be navy and is the primary color, it could technically work but the brown and grey would look much better. Navy is a dominant color and can make the whole jacket look navy from a distance, so there wouldn’t be enough contrast.
The cream pants look best. Especially with the black shoes.

The cream trousers could work with other shoe colors as well. I was more saying black shoes for the brown trousers. But I do think that the black shoes work with cream as well since it goes with most trouser colors. But it probably wouldn't be my first choice with the cream. Thanks for the comment.

Since you asked 🙂 personally I'd wear a light pink shirt with Burgundy shoes, or off white or light green shirt with tan shoes. I'm a fan of earthy tones especially when it's cold. I only own two pairs of black footwear, black captoe oxfords for formal events and black leather zip up whole cut boots with dark denim when the bad ass wants to come out a little stronger 😜

Although I like the cream trousers, the brown cords look the best in this case. I'm surprised you didn't also put forth a medium to dark blue trouser as well? The shoes... I'm not a split-toe kinda guy, but again you wear them well. I doubt I'd ever wear black with brown, the shoes are too dark with either pant. I'd say a chocolate pair of shoes with the tan pants and if you really want to stick with black shoes, I'd wear a dark, deep brown trouser instead. Just how I'd do it tho.

I happen to be one of those people who, while I don't think it's bad at all to wear black shoes with brown clothes, thinks it's simply not aesthetically pleasing to me as a nice pair of dark brown shoes with med brown trousers. I know in Europe, especially English men, wear black with brown, partly because they see brown shoes as only meant for the country...."no brown in town". They relegate brown to rustic and rural environments. But here in the good ole' US of A, we've never associated brown with complete informality, although black is much more formal. That being said, a pair of cords are as informal you can get. So, I think brown shoes look much better with brown. Although SptDs are very informal, black shoes look out of place with brown pants to my eye. 'Too much of a contrast. I've seen people wear black with cream, but you need to able to pull that off before trying it. I wouldn't ever suggest people start doing that unless they've got themselves together and know what they are doing. But reasonable men may differ and you look good in them anyway. For me the jury is still out on Chinese-made shoes. I have some and the leather quality is questionable. And I know how they advertise the construction and quality, but a neutral person has to go to the factory and tell me they've seen how the shoes are made or I need to see a pair well-worn before I know the level of quality.....Some countries have strict ad and marketing and consumer truth laws and others don't. When it comes. to trade and consumer protection, China hasn't been the best of partners and is behind the rest of the world. with sales marketing requirements. 'Sorry about the long reply. What’s up, Daniel? There is a formula which is to have someone measure you from the base of the back collar to the floor and divide it by 2, that should be the jacket’s length. But you really just want it cover your whole seat, that’s the key.

Vlad, to me the fist look fits you personally much better though the second is also interesting. As it comes to shoes, with the first look it might be better to use burgundy ST's You previously overviewed on the channel (Not sure thay fit You "like a glove" 😁 ). It will bring some essential color pop due to You use muted pocket square in here and no stand out colors. Btw, burgundy is a bit closure to the whole "browny" pallete.

Vladimir, I watched your channel for the first time, it was informative and I plan on contuing watching, I did check out Spier Mackay, saw quite a bit I liked and started to order a Jacker,,,, but,,, I am 6'3" 212lbs (this morning's weight) and 46 L fits perfectly, the size for the jacket I was interested in maxed out at a petite 44 L, I reviewed many other options with them and found that 44 L was a common upper limit, if you can recommend other suppliers for bigger viewers,
