- On this episode: Our favorite family farm cuts and bales alfalfa for the first time this year with their Allis Chalmers 190xt, 185, and D-17 Series 4 pulling a Sperry New Holland 489 Haybine, Hesston1090 Haybine, and New Holland 316 Baler.
Great video!! Awesome camera work, glad to see it!
185 best baling tractor ever.
Lord I wish farming was still this great when companies cared about making a product rather than milking you for every cent! When they actually competed against each other on a great quality product! And glad to see young Nolan have a passion for it !
Good job young man! Love those AC tractors.
Enjoyed the video it was good 👍 I still think AC tractor's were the best ever made
That was a great video! We have a Hesston 1110 sickle mower conditioner with rubber on steel crimping rolls. Great machine, semi retired now. Like you, we also have a square baler with kicker. Fine collection of AC tractors...👍
Excellent video!
Baling was always my favorite. Not mowing, not raking, baling. It was the challenge to see how full I could get the wagon before a bale fell off. How long did the hay lay on the ground before it was dry enough to bale? We always had to rake ours to get the underside dry. To do one less job would have been nice. Love the sound of everything. Thank J and L.
They cut it on Sunday and baled it on Friday
@@JandLVideos wow that’s long stretch of good weather. Thanks for the answer.
That 185 on the bailer is sharp looking tractor...
Why don’t you guys rake the swaths into windrows? Just curious
Since it was the little square bales they didn't bother. Big square and round bales they will.
I about to start round baling with my 7020 allis.
Not all that familiar with AC tractors but a question on the 190XT: What is the purpose of the plumbing between the air cleaner and the exhaust?
It pulls debris collected in the air cleaner out the exhaust
Thank you for asking that. Always wondered myself
@@JandLVideos A clever idea I must say. Did AC continue with this feature in future models?
@@dwightl5863 I think it's an aftermarket addition
Hope they were all diesel because the hay would never cover the cost of all the gas required to cut and bale it.
My D-17 got a workout like that on a friends farm last weekend. I finished the restoration on "Lil Allis" last year but she can and will still get the work done when called upon. We like to restore them to 100%, then run them down to about 30% and restore them again lol! My 7080 is in the process of restoration right now.
ORANGE POWER FOREVER!
Sure would love to see that 7080 when you get it done.
Very nice footage. The long shot at 7:10 is pure art. That could’ve been from a great late ‘60s or early ‘70s film.
That's my favorite shot, I had to put the big zoom lens on the camera to get it!
