I rented a Grand Cherokee 4xe while on vacation. It was one of the worst drivetrains I ever experienced. It was as if the transmission, engine, and electric motor were always arguing with each other. It convinced me to never by a PHEV. I really hope my experience was a one off. If your daughter enjoys hers that's all that matters.
I don't think it is a PHEV issue but a Jeep issue. My mother in law used to have a Jeep that I would drive from time to time and I hated it. It had an absolutely awful ride. It was noisy and slow. They are built for people that want to go off road or in the case of people like my ex mother in law, want people to THINK they like to go off road. I have owned my share of non practical cars just because I thought they were cool so I understand.
We have the Pacifica PHEV which is I think, the same hybrid system. I hope it works out for you. We've been subject to recall after recall and are now being told not to charge it. We are used to charging it everyday.
Congratulations on your new Jeep. My sister had one for a month from Enterprise while her Cadillac was being repaired from a collision. Enterprise did not tell her the Jeep was a hybrid or show her how to plug it in or where the cable was. She only go 15mpg without the battery EV usage. Must have the battery charged to get the advertised 49 mpg.
Is she actually going to charge it and use it as electric? Or did she get the 4xe because it qualifies the for $7500 IRA credit but she won’t ever charge it, like most people who buy the hybrids don’t. The IRA credit applying towards hybrids is such a waste of battery resources and electric incentivization.
Katie has charged the Jeep multiple times by finding L2 stations via PlugShare. The point she was making is that the apartment complex where she lives does not have any chargers. When she moves in a few months, charging infrastructure will be a critical component to where she ends up living. She fully intends on using the EV only feature as much as she can for local daily driving. She wanted to get back into a Jeep and I thought an EV would be the right way to go. So this 4xe is the perfect solution for her situation
Tax credits in general are a waste. This isn’t free money, it’s taxpayer money. You shouldn’t need an incentive from the taxpayers to purchase any vehicle. How many people would still buy one if they didn’t get the credit?? I’m not anti EV at all. Been thinking about a Tesla.

I am going to be trading in my 2024 Hyundai Tucson hybrid asap! 🤪 This was my first time driving a Jeep and loved it. Loved the cool Early Grey colors highlighted by the light blue details, the hard top, the safety + sturdiness of it.
Definitely awesome color, only thing is since Fiat and then syanna took over unfortunately drive train and electric system is having a lot of issues everybody in my Jeep club got rid of them within 6 months went back to gasoline but beautiful looking Jeep period great video

I hit my head on the Cross bar ceiling This is not the truck for me I am 6’5” Jeep could easily fix this if they simply allowed the front seats to be lowered enough to eliminate the issue
Hybrids need a 100 mi battery so the engine runs only 1% of the time. I wonder if she would switch to a BEV if the apartment had charging? After all, mother, father, and brother prefer driving BEVs.
Nope. Volt is a series hybrid. This tech is from ZF Automotive and multiple mfgs are adapting it. PHEV demand is strong due to consumers wanting EV around town/their house and convenience of gas for long distance.
Last real true Jeep was the TJ with the 4 l Strait 6. But I did research on best year of newer models and the 2015 JK which has pentastar 3.6 last one made by Mercedes same as drivetrain I have 240,000 mi on it other than regular maintenance brakes oil change tires can I use it for real been on its side twice 37 inch tires not babied at all not a single tik. People see it and cannot believe that it's 10 years old come this model year the mileage and how great it still sounds. But you could not give me a brand new Jeep. Junk so sad

@@Jeddin I do wish that they’d eliminate the tax credit for plugin hybrids. Many people don’t plug them in (although my brother does plug in his).

2011 technology. Why do they even make these? Chevy Volt in 4 WD version even the exact same size battery
