Mike Ward: Thanks for viewing Mike and for subscribing to our channel. - Capt Dan
Nice job Dan. Can't go wrong with cero on the grill or ceviche
Megamatt Outdoors: Yup, best of the Macs for sure! - Capt Dan
Enjoyed the catch & cook Capt'n Dan
paco1008: Thanks bro, appreciate that! - Capt Dan
Awesome video, Capt. Dan. Thanks !

Love the Channel, Semper Fi!!
Samuel Mabry: Thanks for Following Us! Appreciate your service! - Capt Dan
Good catch Captain.. Thanks for sharing. Tight lines.
Thank YOU for watching and taking the time to comment!! Elizabeth & Capt. Dan
Nice rod bending trip!
Sea-Squatch 1: YEAH!!!! - Capt Dan
Wow! That recipe looks amazing. I think I'll try that with some Mahi or Cod. Although I'll prob add my own twist to it with some white cooking wine and a hint of lime or lemon juice! Yum yum!!!!! I'll have to reach out to you and Heiko next time me and my family drive down to Florida. I sure miss fishing in the Keys and I can't do it that often because we moved out of state a while back.
John 3:16 John 5:24: It is great with both both mahi and cod as well. Just about any fish I think other than Mackerel or Cuda. I hate Cuda!! -Capt Dan
nice video Dan, that seafood recipe looks amazing. I am going to try it!
Listen - this one is a HOME RUN - with any fish!! Give it a try!! -Elizabeth & Capt. Dan
Nice job!!
I get a video from you guys and front page news that they are opening a bonus season for Dungeness crab today! keep up the great vids. It has been a great day.
corberator: Now that is an awesome 2-fer! Actually, I cannot let Elizabeth see your comment, because Dungeness Crabs are her absolute favorite and we cannot find any here in the Keys. We used to buy them live in Tampa when we lived on the Gulf side of Florida. Guess they flew them in from the west coast. We are jealous! Want to trade for some lobster tails? ;-) - Capt Dan
@@FloridaFishingCouple I would LOVE that
Great video!!
Hey there Dan, I had a hot tube before and there alot of fun. The thing I remember most was putting in a chemical to get rid of the bubbles which comes from your hair. When you wash your hair and think you rinsed out the shampoo wrong you didn't and it gets bubbly ok have fun Bill Alloway and your stuff will be in it's way in a couple days
You gotta make sure Elizabeth is with you for these videos. They come out much better that way! Lol
Dinner looked amazing! What temp do you bake it at?
Doug Smith: We try to get her out more often. Unfortunately, her work keeps her very busy and she is on the road a lot. I think the next video is of the both of us. Stay tuned! We baked the fish at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. - Capt Dan
Solo today nice job bro u eating goid tonight lol
James Mack619: Yessssssss!!!! - Capt Dan
Yummmmy!
It is truly AMAZING and so easy this way!! A MUST try for sure!! -Elizabeth
@@FloridaFishingCouple will surely do that.🖒🖒
Queen trigger
Heiko is rubbing off on you, and now you’re “forgetting things”...🤦🏼♂️😂
Walter Grabeklis Jr: I know, seems I always forget something! One time i headed out and left my tackle bag on the dock! - Capt Dan
Tell me about it. I used to make fun of people making “lists”....now I’m making them....🤦🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
Walter Grabeklis Jr: Wait a minute.....maybe I’m rubbing off on him!!!! - Capt Dan
Steve always forgets something.
Heiko has a legit reason.
Capt Dan Just wondering where did you find the Clip on Weight,
Keith: Most fisherman in the Keys use a long flourocarbon leader attached to a swivel and a weight to get the bait down into the water column. They literally hand line 90 foot or more of leader when the sinker hits the top eye of the rod. I use a balloon clip zip tied to the sinker and clipped to my braided line above my flourocarbon leader. When the clip nears the top of my rod I simply remove the clip and weight and fight the fish using the rod and reel. The clips can be found on our website under Gear We Use or at this Amazon link; just copy and paste into your browser. I always have multiple packs with various weights. Link: amzn.to/2QBwQXt
@@FloridaFishingCouple Thanks for the help you guys are great
Hey buddy your yamaha is 4 stroke or 2? And how many rpm is runing in neutral thanks bro
piandu chuance: So the engine is a 150 Yamaha 2 stroke (2004). I had it rebuilt in 2016 after the engine blew up. Found out it went because I had towed someone in who ran out of gas in the middle of the ocean and couldn’t get back. The mechanic told me afterwards the engine could not take the load of towing in a boat that big. Cost me 5K to rebuild it. I would have been better off giving the guy $200 worth of gas instead! Oh well, live and learn I guess. We posted a boat review video awhile back. You can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/WiKM0wlF6pI/v-deo.html

@@FloridaFishingCouple thanks
*My doctor told me I have reached the age where I should always carry a pencil to write things down because of a short term memory problem.... but I keep forgetting where I've left my pad of paper*
gw wile: Now where did I put that damn pencil.......... - Capt Dan
Good job captain Dan! 👍 I DEFINITELY want that rig! Can you send me one, please? In exchange, we can barbecue over my place. I live in Cutler Bay, FL. Needless to say, I also fish, mostly catch some yellow tails and if I get lucky some muttons as well. I want to focus more on bottom fishing.
Reha Erman: Will definitely send you one. E-mail me your address to FloridaFishingCouple@gmail.com and we will get a few to you. Actually, I will check with Heiko, he is now selling them on his site, but I will send you a few he gave to me. Elizabeth and I might just take you up on that BBQ at your place! - Capt Dan
Florida Fishing Couple Thank you very much. I’ve just sent you guys an email. Cheers,,Reha.
Looks like you had fun I like going out alone sometimes it’s peaceful but also like friends or family too you keep filming I keep following 😄
John Tuzio: Hello John! How’s it going? Hope all is well with you and your entire family. Like you, I love solo fishing sometimes. It’s good for the soul and clears my head. Not to mention it gives Elizabeth some to get away from me! I can be a handful! Hope to see you down here again sometime soon. - Capt Dan & Elizabeth
Dan. The best thing I can say about this 4 year old video is that you have come a long way as of 8/28/24
Thanks! I assuming you mean the editing and content?
Great bit of solo fishing captain dan and the kitchen department looked tasty as always love to try those types we only have the basics over here the cod, haddock, salmon ect lol. pleasure dan cheers
Mark Franks: Would love to trade with you for a few months! You have a great fishery. Love cod, haddock, and salmon! Appreciate you watching and commenting Mark. - Capt Dan
great score Cap Dan, for the record I forget something every trip also :)
Luis Rodda: I know....gonna have to make a list or something..... Anyway, looks like the wind is going to die down this Thursday. Maybe we can finally get back out there. Saw your Wahoo prep video. Good stuff!! Tight lines brother! - Capt Dan
Nailed our first Wahoo for the season today Luis! High speed trolling did the job! -Capt Dan
@@FloridaFishingCouple amazing!! congrats! I was out there today on my wife's Zodiac lol, just drifting for bottom fish. there was zero current and the water was dirty. I was doubting a buddy of mine that has a friend that went 3-4 on the wahoo off of key largo so now I believe him!! Way to go Captain Dan i know it must have been awesome! hope you have some footage to share.
Luis Rodda: Video out shortly! -Capt Dan
Great video! I'm going to try that recipe. Captain Dan, I couldn't help but notice how you included Elizabeth in the taste test. Y'all are my FAVORITE couple.
Jeanice- we are going through old comments and ALL of yours are so sweet!! Thank you!! 🤗🫶
I'm jealous , I used to catch black grouper and take it right to a restaurant to have it cooked. I can't remember the name it was a local hangout , no tourists . It was so fresh and I would share with anyone that wanted it. Good memories . .....
Patrick P: There are several places here in Key Largo that do the same. If we don’t want to cook it ourselves we bring it to a local restaurant and they cook it for us. - Capt Dan
You threw one of the best fish back. TRIGGER.. A lot of people dont keep trigger because they dont know how easy they clean..
Brian Epperson: The Queen Trigger fish is such a beautiful species; I just cant bear the thought of killing one. I see them when I’m diving pretty often. I think they would look better in an aquarium rather than a dinner plate. Guess I just have a soft heart. - Capt Dan
Great job Capt. Dan, my mouth is watering over that meal. Nothing like a good solo day and cooking up your catch.
Mike Champion: Agree! It was an awesome day and an awesome meal! Gotta get back out soon! -Capt Dan
The only thing that depresses me on a catch and cook is I don't get a taste but I am going to do my own catch and cook fish already cought now too thaw and cook some walleye
Fish-On with Tim Collison: Great idea! I have never had Walleye, but Elizabeth is from the mid-west and tells e it is great. Enjoy! - Capt Dan
Hey good to see ur listening and applying my Good Karma Sport Fishing Podcast techniques and sharing them in your videos. I work hard to put content together for my Good Karma Sportfishing podcast. All these were techiniques are ones I shared in Episode 63 and 64 and my stinger rig trick episode 18 zip tie stinger rig from the Good Karma Sportfishing Podcast.
GOOD KARMA SPORTFISHING: Yup, we always give credit where it’s due and plug your podcasts and charter service often to our subscribers and followers. If any of our subscribers have not seen the 2 videos (you and the Seakeeper II and a day of fishing with Elizabeth and I on your charter boat), they are in our list of videos and everyone should go watch! Look forward to an invite sometime to fish together in the future and highlight your podcasts and charter service again. - Capt Dan
As you were talking about ballyhoo did you see the 2 frigate birds flying around?
William Alloway: I didn’t see them until I saw the video. Probably something under those birds though. - Capt Dan
Don’t get any better than that...Awesome day on the water....
Tommy Gunz: It really was. Sometimes fishing solo is best. - Capt Dan
Where do you get the lead wheight with the button, would like to try them, thanks
Neil Gadsby: Most fisherman in the Keys use a long flourocarbon leader attached to a swivel and a weight to get the bait down into the water column. I like the solo trip videos, but u should buy a Chestie for one of those cameras.
Dustin Hays: I agreed we have a chest harness for the Go-Pro but the attachment broke and we need a new one. Someone offered to send us a new one so we will see. Hopefully have another soon. - Capt Dan
What temperature do you bake it at? Thanks for the great video.
Tim S.: We baked it at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. - Capt Dan
Great video, Danny. Looked like such a beautiful day. Loved to sound of the water at about 12:30. I agree about the wire leaders with the Mac’s. Boy did they beat us up the first year we took our boat out on the Gulf.
Keep posting these wonderful videos buddy.
I do have one question, does the FWC bust your ass about a life vest down there like they do here in Illinois?
I actually learned the hard way to wear *something* while under power solo... 😬
Merry Wissemes Hockey: no law that says you have wear a PDF while under way, but you must have 1 for each person stowed on board. - Capt Dan
There’s no law up here to wear it underway either, but I sure get stopped about having them onboard a lot...... even when I wear it. (The others are wrapped around my seat backs.) 😂
Looks delicious and can't wait to try it!!! Thanks for sharing.
I love fish (pretty much prepared any way) but this is BY FAR my favorite!! -Elizabeth
Another great video. I leave tomorrow to head down to the Keys. I plan on fishing as much as possible Thursday and Friday. After my last 3 fishing trips being cancelled due to various weather conditions I am so excited to finally go. This is also my first trip to the Keys so that is awesome as well. If you are around and want to fish on either, or both of those days let me know. I would love to have someone with experience show me the ropes.
skip leger: looks like Thursday might be a great day to head out. Been blowing windy for almost 3 weeks now. Unfortunately, I will be fishing with Heiko on Thursday and headed out of town Friday. Scroll through our videos before you come down. There is lots of information contained in the past 2 years to give you enough specific info to put you on fish. If you have any questions let me know.-Capt Dan
Florida Fishing Couple ok well have fun out there with Heiko! Maybe next time. I still appreciate the offer.
Please do me a favor and bring a can of corn next time to feed the yellow tail. Reason why is we used to go snorkeling down in key west and they would throw out handfuls of corn then the yellowtail were everywhere around us, was the coolest thing so could you tey that to see if they will eat kernel corn. I will buy you a can and mail it to you if needed
William Alloway: I have to say Bill, I have never heard about using corn for attracting and catching Yellowtail. Tell you what; send us a can of the corn you recommend to our address in the Description box above and I will take it with us on our next Yellowtail trip. - Capt Dan
Try jarring or caning those Macks
Douglas Themis: Actually did a video a few months back canning a huge Blackfin Tuna we caught. Never thought about doing it with Macks; worth a try. Both the video and the tuna came out pretty good. Check it out in our lineup. - Capt Dan
Nice!
Awesome man!👍👍
Juliano Movies: Thank you! Glad you enjoyed! - Capt Dan
Do NOT watch this before going to bed! I am drooling like a rabid dog! Man that looks absolutely wonderful! Awesome content!
Are you not afraid of fishing alone in the middle of the sea 🌊???WORRIED ABOUT YOU SIR!!
Hey Captain Dan,
I’m wondering how far off shore can you go before you can’t text or use your cell?
Sweet Dreamz Entertainment: It’s not consistent but, normally about 8 miles offshore before I lose cell service. I’m curious, why did you ask? -Capt Dan
Because you often send text to Ms. Elizabeth about your going’s on living your amazing life. And you are off shore miles sometimes.
You fish and make UA-cam videos and possibly make money doing so.
I WILL eventually live a similar life to yours and I just think about how to communicate with people more so loved ones. Also social media. Got to be a brand! And you two are. A very AMAZING brand.
In the event that something happens. I would have a EPRIB(?,spelling), satellite phone not that you don’t and a radio, but I just worry about things like that.
In the beginning of the video you talked about storms. And I saw that one time you and Heiko went through a nice one. But you handled it like a TRUE Captain 👍🏿.
But what if? Always expect the unexpected. I’m 46 and forget stuff too. I just want you to be safe and always come back.
I’m not religious at all but you two are sooo blessed. Also you are a very wise and beautiful couple and it’s wonderful how you two communicate. I’m not jealous at all but you two motivate me. Thanks for all you do.
Avi
Sweet Dreamz Entertainment: Very heartfelt comments and I appreciate you very much. I do have an E-Perb type device that I can send communications to Elizabeth throughout the day when out of cell phone range. Also, a marine radio to call Coast Guard or FWC in an emergency. However, when storms hit, like the one you saw on Heiko’s channel there is not much time to react and really no immediate help other than your own experience, wit, and help from God to get you through. That storm you saw was a lot worse than portrayed on the video and I truly thanked God we got back safe. A few weeks later a couple of guys fishing off Florida’s east coast were not as blessed and they never returned. I won’t stop going out, but I think about that when I leave port and always hope and pray we return safely. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate your comments tonight as we prepare to head out tomorrow to fish for Wahoo in the morning. -Capt Dan
Love the music. That's my head in the right place.
Thanks so much for the feedback!! We try to pick music that goes with the video! -Elizabeth
Capt. Dan, can you send the "how-to" video link on using the balloon clips for sinkers. Thanks and great video, solo fishing is awesome...
George Fernandez: so the balloon clips can be found on Amazon or on our web site @ FloridaFishingCouple.com
On Amazon just copy and paste this link: amzn.to/2QBwQXt
Zip tie any size weight to the clip. When you let out the leader to the desired length just clip to your line and drop it down. When you retrieve it in with a fish on, reel to the weight, push the button to remove the clip and continue fighting the fish. I always have 2 or 3 packs of clips with different weights ready to go depending upon the depth of the water and the speed of the current. Much easier than hand lining the leader and fish to the boat. - Capt Dan
That's a lot of Bay Leaf, but it still looks awesome. Be honest, the Bay Leaf was overwhelming right?
Great video as always and I love the length of time in them it's an actual fishing show no commercials lol
Arron Orr: Thanks Aaron, I’m like you...I like to see the whole experience, not just the “catching” parts. Glad you enjoy the videos and thanks for “Following Us!” - Capt Dan
Make sure u save some fish for Heiko's cat n for ur wife. Does she outfish u? Lol just kidding. Have a great one
Nice job Dan. Beautiful Black and a real nice Cero for the table. That meal looked friggin delicious!!!
Wayne - it was AMAZING!! We shared the Cero with the neighbors and put it on the grill. -Elizabeth & Capt. Dan
What's the deal with the weight? What kind of release is it?
This place has beautiful fish, congratulations your fishing was amazing!
*Hug!!!* 👍🎣🐟😉
Suellen Gonçalves - Pesca Esportiva: Thank you Suellen, always love hearing from you! - Capt Dan & Elizabeth
Looks yummy! I appreciate the hook n cook episodes.
Thanks so much for the feedback! We'll be sure to do more of those! -Elizabeth & Capt. Dan
" Lobster is good for flavor and good for taste " lol
Lance Manyon: Lobster is just plain good!! My favorite way is in a fria-diablo sauce- Capt Dan
@@FloridaFishingCouple I just thought it was funny because taste and flavor are the same thing , I have to agree with you , lobster fra diavolo is my favorite .
Lance Manyon: Actually, taste refers to our five sensitivities - sweet, sour, salt, bitter, and umami - while flavor is a "hedonic" sense involving smell, texture, and expectation. - Capt Dan
Guys I love you're videos! You're the most down-to-earth real people I've seen on UA-cam in a while! I watch your videos when I have my chemo infusions. They take me away to a better place! Thank you both so very much for the fun and love you give to us! Michael Syracuse New York. www.pinospress.com
Joe Gotz: Thanks Joe (Michael) Been going through the chemo and radiation process with my 86 year old Dad recently and it looks like he will make a full recovery. Will say a prayer that you do the same. Glad our videos have brought some relief to you while you go through this difficult time. Checked out your website. Can your products be bought online? We use a lot of olive oil in our house and would love to try some that you offer. All the best!! - Capt Dan & Elizabeth
Hey great day of solo fishing yummy looking recipe awesome grouper and as always that beautiful wife of yours I can't wait to see y'all out fishing together
Danny Hatmaker: Check out the recent video posted Sunday..... - Capt Dan
Great video Dan! My wife and I are thinking of going to the keys sometime around or after Christmas. Do you guys have any recommendations for a nice Bed and Breakfast in the keys? Also would like to do some pier fishing while I'm down there, any recommendations? You and Hieko make me want to move to the keys instead of Orange Park!!!
A resort would also work great.
Dennis - there are a couple of really nice resorts local - the Marriot has two properties in Key Largo, and there are a TON of Air BNBs. Our best advice is to pull up Air BNB and see what's available. It's the busiest time of year, so be prepared for some price shock! -Elizabeth & Capt. Dan
thanks for the great vid top
Jeff Barnard: Thank you brother. - Capt Dan
Looks awesome!!
Man, it's so delicious!! We've also made mutton snapper this way and it was incredible!! -Elizabeth
Love your videos! Keep them coming. Capt James

Capt .dan Ya made my day to see ya notification that you dropped a vid and a great vid it was! Sometimes a man just needs to go SOLO! great catch and ya made this fatman hungry! Say hey To Ms. Elizabeth! Tight lines and God bless! Stay safe!
Douglas Themis: That’s awesome Douglas! Always appreciate you and your comments. Elizabeth says hello! - Capt Dan & Elizabeth
Great fishing trip and what makes it even better is seeing beautiful Elizabeth waiting at the dock when you got home. Fish and Lobster looked awesome. Brian
Brian O: I always let her know where I am throughout the day when she cant come along. That way she is still a part of my day. When I hit the end of the canal, I let her know and she always comes down to meet me. It’s the best part of my fishing trip! - Capt Dan
