I miss 70s, 80s, and 90s TV. Every song he touches he made it sounded as though he wrote it and did it first.

This was the last day of taping we ever did on this brief lived series called PLAY IT AGAIN NASHVILLE in 1985. I believe we taped it the winter of 84'. I was a very intimidated 20 year old piano player here and will always recall how nice Ray was to all of the band. He came around to each one of us and personally shook our hands and met us. And that meant a lot to a kid who was scared to death to even speak. BTW..... this was about somewhere between 9:00 and 10am as I remember. For a man to roll out of bed on a bus and come off singing like that......... wow!

DIRKWORKS2 wow, I had no idea you were in on this. Ray Price is the "master" of country music but the man could sing anything. Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Spanish and just own it every time. So glad for these videos. Keep 'em coming. Thanks!

Another great country legend gone home to heaven, but he will be appearing on the stage of the Grand Ole' Opry in Heaven from now on, with all the other greats, wouldn't be surprised if George Jones met him at the Pearly Gates.

For those who love Ray: Ray is in the final stages of pancreatic cancer. Say a prayer for him. He is one of only a few who is keeping true country alive.

Mike Johnson is on steel. This is from a show we did in 1985 on TNN. With the exception of fiddle player, Bruce Watkins.... the band at that time was Bill Anderson's Po Folks. Myself, Dirk Johnson on piano, Mark Johnson, Mike's brother on Bass, Mike Streeter on drums, Lester Earl Singer on Guitar. Liana Manis and Leann Steinhour on Background vocals.

I finally was able to see the Great Ray Price on his birthday on Jan. 12, 2012 at Stafford Centre and he was even better than in recent years. He announced that he will be recording again to which I'm grateful and hope to buy new recordings.

This reminds me of when I was very young and had just got my drivers license. I would drive at night and play the radio from the country stations. I had no boyfriend but the pretend time was more precious than when I later got a boyfriend.

Thanks so much for the info. I see Ray anytime he is within driving distance. My opinion is, of course, that he is the best thing going.....Can't beat that 4/4 stuff with steel and fiddle.. Mike's playing is so tasteful and in the right place at the right time.

I ad been to visit my Son and was going back home and when we past Ray Price's ranch then entire front was covered with roses. It was sometime around Christmas so I didn't think much about it until I got home where I could get a good radio station and then found out he had died. Great singer and it didn't matter how drunk he was he never missed a note. Thank you for the upload.

Thanks, I've tried to see if there were any copies of the program out there but so far no luck. I hate it when they let these great shows just disappear to be lost forever. I'm always hunting down those elusive Ray Price shows so I can post them on the Ray Price Fan Club and Janie Price's page so Ray and Janie can see them also.
