From 1988 - 1991, I practically lived in Rupp's Drums!! I have so many memories of hanging with Bob and talking music, drumming and all things fun!!! The Ginger Baker clinic, April 1, 1989. Seeing and meeting Ginger was amazing!!!! I miss Bob and wish him nothing but blessings and happiness!!!
I won a battle of the bands in the late 80’s and my prize was new drum heads for my kit. I remember Bob was like “only the tops though!” Haha man that was a long time ago. I sure miss the days of walking in and seeing Bob and he’d yell “Joey” to me. Miss ya Bob!
Just happened to wander in last week while visiting Denver from San Antonio, celebrating my 50th, and was lucky enough for it to be your 40th Anniversary too. A 30 min expected visit became 1.5 hours and I had the BEST time talking with reps, staff, and other guests. Thank you again for a wonderful time, the fun bag o’ swag, and congrats again on an institution of a shop. Looking forward to visiting again on the next visit out there🤘🏼🤙🏼
DJ is my uncle, been hanging out with him since I was a first grader, including going to Rupps since my dad let me get my first kit in 1997. I remember the "drum junkyard" days and I am glad to see Bob doing well and Alex is keeping the place going for another 40- Cheers.
During the 11 years I was a working drummer in Denver, Rupp's was my Mecca and Bob was an idol to me. He sold me my first kit when I arrived and many more since. To think that I had the good fortune to not only know Bob but to become a friend over the years is almost too good to be true. He is still my idol and his shop was my home away from home for many years. Love you Bob and thank you Alex for carrying on the legacy and tradition!
Pretty cool! I shopped there several times a year for 15 years (2004-2019). Since moved. Wish I had a shop like this around where I live now. I still buy online from them occasionally
I try to go to other stores in Denver to shop and spend money however Rupp's is always the best experience. I love my Sugar Percussion snare and Paiste 602 ride that I got last week. They have a great sales staff. I hate the drive from Westminster but I can't quit you Rupp's.
I first met Bob when he was selling drums out of his rented house...I think it was 1984 or 1985. I was looking for smaller tubs and bought a 20" kick drum and 14" floor tom from him. I still have those drums and play them daily.
Thank Bob for starting the legacy and Thank Alex for continuing it.

Love Rupps!!! It’s a very special place for drummers.

I bought used drum heads from Bob in the 80's from his house. I'll never forget.

Fk Yeah Bob Rupp ! And so glad your store kept giving after you made your decision to split. Also fk The IRS ♥ 🥁
Still curious if Bob is related to Jim Rupp who owns Columbus Pro Percussion in Ohio.
