Everyone complaining how this is "free" advertising must be playing with rackets that are all one solid color without any discernible writing or logos on any part of it. It's not painfully difficult to identify what kind of racket someone is using from one court away with or without a stencil...
You all must also be using other tennis equipment/gear without any sort of logos on them - no Nike checks, no Adidas stripes, no Asics or Babolat lines, etc.

I used a babolat stencil ink to put a white W on my confidentials and let it dry overnight. This created a coat of paint over the strings (not actually stain the string) that got rubbed off after 4 sessions of play. That's actually not that worst part. The worst part is the way the paint dried up made the strings stick together where the main and crosses meet. For the first hour of play my ball was flying everywhere because the strings where stuck together. Maybe this works better on other string types but definitely does not work on confidentials

I would like to ask for some advice on deciding whether or not I put stencils on my rackets.
I am one of the guys who think stencil ink could somewhat affect string-to-ball and string-to-string friction values, which is closely related to spin potential and playability because strings in the stencil part are obviously coated all around with stencil ink.
For example, RPM blast is known for its' special coating technology on the surface to make more spin potential.
Doesn't stencil ink affect performance in a bad way at all?

That all depends on how much/often you hit the balls with the logo. I advice Head racquets myself. The Head logo is way out of the way of the sweet spot, so you won't hit (and smudge) the string logo as much as many of the other brands (if you're lucky ;-) ).

Spray paints usually leave marks on the tennis balls (been there, done that!). If you use Wilson / Yonex stencil ink you can immediately play after you've put on the logo and it leaves zero marks on the balls 👌.

@@abdurrahmanshah6069 The stencil ink wears of pretty quickly if you hit a lot of balls on the string logo. Spray paint lasts longer BUT is not an actual option in reality (IMO), because it gets black or red stripes all over the tennis balls. • @ivanmichel6832

For starters you don't want something cheap that'll flake off after one hit. You also don't want to use acrylic which is thicker (and heavier) and could have an affect on the ball and strings itself. You want something thin. If you use blank ink you could away with a sharpie instead of buying specific ink but if you need white it gets trickier to use a non-paint marker that isn't thick.

Models don't get refreshed every year... At best you can expect a new paint job but the racket itself doesn't get refreshed until about 2-3 years after release. Nadal's racket now is just a "Rafa" paint job of the banana Pure Aero that came out in 2019 that he already used. Maybe this year or next there will be an entirely new Pure Aero (technology-wise) model released but yeah, rackets last a few years between new generations.
