Oh, cool idea, Matt! Paul has some true treasures. That Moon score! That 45RPM Pet Sounds! This was tons of fun to watch. More, please. Maybe you should do this with other members of the TMR community, even remotely.
The checker box... it's just a box!!! 😅😅😅 that was pretty cool. Great video, great collection, great guy. Thanks for sharing. I wonder how he listens to his collection? Meaning, what setup he uses. Would have been cool to see that too.
My turntable is a Pro-Ject: Debut Carbon Esprit SB with an Ortofon Blue Cartridge. I have it connected to my Onkyo TX-RZ50 9.2 channel AV receiver, that is driving a 7.1.2 surround sound speaker setup. All my speakers are SVS, which are home theater designed speakers, but still sound great for music. I primarily just use the 2 SVS Prime Pinnacle tower speakers when listening to vinyl.
I don't necessarily agree with Paul's assertion that a score/soundtrack can make or break a movie. However, I do think that they can elevate a movie to become a magnificent experience. There are plenty of terrible/mediocre movies with fantastic scores. A good score is just icing on the cake that makes a movie that much better or "magical."
Noticed he doesn't own the Fellowship boxset and just Two Towers and Return of the King like me. 😂 I didn't have the money at the time to buy it when it first came out and that is maybe the biggest regret of my collecting life. Goes for a ridiculous $1000+ now. It's stupid it never got even one limited repress. I refuse to pay anything $150-$200 for that boxset, out of principle. Even the CD release for the Complete Recordings goes for over $100.
I LOVE that KLF Chill out album! "Last Train to Trancentral" is my favorite KLF track, and the Chill Out version, with the train sound, is amazing! Although, I have only heard it on Digital Media (CD/mp3).
The Mission soundtrack really crossed over into the mainstream in Europe anyway .... it had this huge appeal in the 90s. You'd hear it at a party in college during the week, and then at the weekends your parents would have it on. Got massive radio-play over here too.
These are fun videos. Good to just visit someone’s collection. This is what we’re here for, ogling records. Although that arcade collection makes me want to switch hobbies. A overlooked part of this video was Paul’s use of the gatefold sleeves. I bought them by accident last month and have been a convert. I was suspicious of their worth but now I absolutely love them. You should pick some up Matt.
@@TooManyRecords My advice is grab a pack but start with a few gatefolds you don’t care that much about. There is a small trial and error to get them in before it becomes easy and I started with a grail and had a mini heart attack that I was gonna damage it. I finally got the hang of it.
whats up matt, i remember in a past stream i asked if you liked mac demarco and out of curiosity i was gonna ask but forgot, do you own any of his stuff on vinyl?
The arcade could be its own video... wow. Also love the cat bed integration into the media room setup.
Aloha bruddas, great watch for happy hour...

Would be very fun!
Living the collectors dream. 😍
Fantastic collection! I love hearing about how people get into and start collecting vinyl.
Me too :)
Hey, it's me!
truth!
Love seeing the soundtracks and scores, Paul!! I share the same love as you. I agree 100% about the quality being such a big bonus.
Love it! Very cool collection!!!
Well done Paul 👍
love seeing what people are in to! this was great.
Super dope!
Hello fellow Portlanders. I'll make it to the store eventually.
Can't wait!!
Excellent video! Love this content

Damn, missed opportunity! We listened to a record after we filmed. Paul, wanna answer the man?

@@katoduck Pretty amazing setup you have. Awesome! Thanks for sharing.

The soundtrack for Black Adam was the main reason it sucked imo 😂

Can you recommend polyethylene inner sleeve that you use and where to buy? There's so many out there. I'm sure they are not all created equal. Thanks!
Pauls wife had to sign a prenup, I bet
I stole a record from Matt’s first record sale show
I like the concept of showing special records and talking about them. Interviews as such can be a bit of a hit or miss but I would watch more of this
Thank you!!
Mat Kearney on the wall !!! Is that Judah and the Lion as well?!?!
Yep! Those are my autographed albums. A lot of Oregon related artists.

Very nice! I like seeing a slice of the TMR community in this style of videos. I wonder how many records Paul's collection has.

Great interview. What an amazing collection.
So happy Paul showed The Mission by Morricone. One of the greatest scores by the GOAT

I'm really tempted for some of my grails.

I like some Mac! I own 2, Salad Days, and This Old Dog
Moon is really nice by Clint but The Fountain is perhaps the best original film score of all time. Easily my number one soundtrack.
That's exactly how I stumbled across Too Many Records as well.. Same story lol..
Absolutely loved this - reminded me of a No Skips episode that we never got 😩
I know that dude
Man! I'd love to hear that Pet Sounds!
It's truly one of the best records I've ever heard, sonically.
