My name is Stef...I am an American who grew up in Detroit, MI and lived in poverty my entire childhood. From not having a place to stay, to living on the streets, to living in a shelter(C.O.T.S). During High School I worked 3 jobs, (Home Depot, Panera Bread, and a co called Sundries) I was very tired and tried to excel very hard in school. It was very difficult, especially looking at what everyone else had, that I didn't. And I don't mean the expensive name brand clothing. I mean a house (or my own room, with a bed to lay my head on) and a car, and having some savings for college. After I got out of HS I went to a community college, that I could afford graduated in business and now I work as a supervisor of a hospital. I am very grateful for what I have, but I will tell you to anyone who takes the time to read this, have fellow feeling for your neighbor and listen to the stories of others. You wont believe what's behind a smile.Cheers, Stef
Lot of respect for you man. I wonder how you managed 3 jobs. Even if you're working one job and you don't get proper rest and healthy diet, it starts to play with your mind and makes you mentally sick... I'm not an American, but I'm also a part of the American Healthcare for almost 20 years now. It's a lot of work, but in an equally less salary with no holidays even in the holiday season....

Ain't that the truth lmao I remember my step dad tellin me that back in his time groceries were never past $100 dollars, you could buy a months worth of lunch with $20-$50 and You would still have spendin money left. I got my own struggles too I am 24 years old and I have never owned a car due to the fact my family went throguh something and I had to steal and rob places and I had friends who had to sell drugs. Imagine the American dream being reduced to selling drugs and robbing people just to eat and Buy things. My landscaping jo I get $600-$800 I rarely ever see $1000 and To me that is a problem.
Rent, mortgage, car payment, gas, utilities, cable, foid. Just work to stay broke. Almost all the prices have doubled. But, wages don't get a double increase. When I retire or vacation I'll be in a 3rd world country, much cheaper and more reasonable than America.

They are white supremacists. Don't be surprised. They are about 20% of America. You don't have to shoot up a church like white extremist Dylann Roof... just make sure the next George Zimmerman is "Innocent" in the court of law. This is the story of America.
General Afrika Awakened with a username like this you talk about white supremacists. Not surprising at all. White people live that same life, work that same job and get the same judgement. I am one. Im not whining about it. If America was 20 % white supremacist this year, the nation would be different. Thats 1 in 5 white people that believe their people are supreme and should rule the lesser. Im guessing white supremacist just doesn't mean what it used to.
I'd lose my mind working and living in those conditions too. It would of been better for him if he took a risk within the first few years of starting and gone to some type of trade school. It would of seriously hurt him financially but 20 years later he wouldn't be where he is right now. Of course I don't know his exact situation but working at BK for that long earning minimum wage is torture enough.
If you work 40 hours a week, you should be able to afford a basic standard of living. This dude's entire life literally revolves around either working or commuting to work, and he doesn't even get paid enough to pay for life's necessities
I'm 26 years old living in Atlanta Georgia. I'm trying so hard to do better moving up gradually. I went from being a housekeeper at $8.75 an hour to a Certified Nurse Assistant with 2 jobs. One where I make $11.00 an hour an another I'm at $13.50. I'm still struggling though because of taxes and the cost of living. Now I'm about to become a city bus driver starting at just a little more, $15.40 an hour. I just got my cdl permit and being trained for my cdl. I'm not going to settle and stay where I'm at. I'm about to get as many trades up under my belt as possible

I drive a 08 Accord which will be paid off in 6 months. I made $48k last year and I can barely afford a descent life style. I paid $8k in taxes, $6k in rent, $3,500k in car payment, $2,000 in gas, $800 in car insurance for the whole year and 4k into my 401k. I was left barely with $20k left which does not include food, college expenses, phone, internet, electric bill, etc. And people want me to have kids? Fuck no.
College is a trap(nothing is free). Very expensive. Reason why the American people have to follow to the U.S. constitution. Fiat currency will be gold/silver by 2020. And it will help through the inflation towards the economy. Also, minimum wage and government laws are apart of this oppression.

I’m not saying your wrong but taxation isn’t theft. I work with guys who do nothing but complain about taxes, while at the same time being paid an additional 35.00+ per hour (on top of their normal hourly salary) by the state or federal govt.. It’s an awesome benefit for working with dangerous building materials and it’s an effective way of putting money in the hands of the working class. Not all of your tax money goes to corrupt politicians. We subsidize corporations and wealthy people who pay MUCH less of a percentage of their total income.. Remember Romney? 13% the same year I paid 26%... Trump? How much you think he pays? All of the money they don’t pay is subsidized by working class Americans. That is where the problems lies...

Anthony ......You are right. Guess who gets sued in small claims court and has to pay for their deceptive practices? Peon citizens and peon 'mom and pop' small business owners. Guess who's on the news every single night?....peon criminals. Now look at big businesses who are allowed to charge virtually anything they want and/or endlessly scam customers in so many ways. Hell, big pharma can charge over a thousand dollars for a bottle of pills. Don't believe the lies about how it's due to "research and development costs". Even $350 is such a scam for so many different prescriptions. Where's the in depth reporting on these giant companies accounting records? Nowhere! Why is this not newsworthy? People need to start doing their own news research and learn for themselves the real issues. But look what your local news reports on tonight.....street crime. Get it? The media's job is to bombard us with bullshit news that actually is anything but the real news they are told to not inform us about! Big business crimes and big business legalized crime. If we all were able to watch these news stories for just the past two years, we all would know what's really been going wrong with our working class economy. People need to learn about what's not being reported that should be reported on. Just look at all the commenters pointing fingers at peons or "global economy" or opposing political party , just to name a few so common comments. Political party choice is never going to be the answer but look how many people get fooled by that game. It's all about corporate corruption. Or did I miss the small claims court tv episodes where a person won a lawsuit for being billed $350 ...or $900 for a bottle of pills?! Nope....this is totally legal! Why? Same for insurance costs and other medical fees. But some peon selling knock-off watches or designer label clothes on the street can be featured on the news! Really? Who the f%*k cares about this! The media propaganda agenda....that's who.
Anthony, before you judge landlords and call them abusers, you should investigate what property taxes are. I struggle to hold onto my house, because the property taxes are half again what my mortgage are...and THEY keep going up every year, unlike my mortgage. It would be impossible to be a landlord WITHOUT raising the rent! Instead of blaming landlords, let's do something to get property taxes reasonable, and to have some kind of a ceiling.
Le Tinh Song Exactly! I live in Oregon, Commiefornia north, property taxes and stupid government policies raise the price of rent. They blame the landlords but the truth is it is the stupid democrap party policies that make it more expensive to live here.
I live in Oregon too (Portland), and the property taxes are outta sight! Last year it passed $3000 for the year...and my house is 756 sq. ft. That is beyond ridiculous. Unless one of my kids buys my house and lets me live in it, I will HAVE to sell when I retire, because I won't be able to afford the property taxes on SS. Then I guess I'll probably be living in a camper.

Very true I have heard this so many times. I went to a private art school and it cost a fortune and to me personally was a scam. I can only think of maybe a handful that actually graduted and is doing well but still have to pay back all those student loans. Most are working jobs they didnt even go to school for. Colleges are really just a business that sell you a fake dream with empty promises of a possible job in your field if you have a degree. All a degree now is a piece of paper. It doesnt promise or ensures anything when its people that never went to college who is making about the same as someone who went its all a scam and the so called American dream of capitalism.
@Christopher Lincoln | What did you get a degree in, specifically? I know you said you went to an art school, but so does that mean you just simply got a degree in "Art"?...or do you have a degree in a specific kind of art?

Yeah, and if people were allowed to keep what's left over then some workers would start short changing the customer so that there's more take-away at the end of the night.
Corporations like Walmart and McDonald's could be GREAT for this country. All they've got to do is take better care of their workers. Greed is the root of all things evil.

There is something wrong with our country if you have to work multiple jobs just to survive. I do blame the government and their policies over the last few years for this.
@zragen7 if you think this just popped up in the last few years, then you must have been living under rock. this has been going on for at least 35 years, it has just reached a boiling point and unless something is done now that pot will boil over.
It's an attitude problem. Too many people still believe that hard work is the key to financial stability, that someone who ends up not making enough to afford a decent living is simply lazy. Maybe this was true once upon a time, but it certainly isn't in today's society.
Growler6t9 You increase your income. Instead of watching Netflix after school/work, you figure out ways to find more income. Work for extra cash on the weekends, keep grinding. Sitting around and blaming the rich won’t get you anywhere.
But that is how it works? Get a degree. Your chances of scoring a decent paying job skyrocket. You don’t even need a relevant degree. Any degree that shows you done some form of higher education will edge you over someone without a degree. That’s how life works bud. You have to work hard for a decent living. Get used to it
@The Man With No Name No.... work, hustle, grind until you can't then take a break, but make sure you save the money you're grinding for. + make sure your grind is worth your time for your effort. I use to work 2 jobs one for 9.50 an hr and 1 for 7.25. Pulling 56-66 hrs a week no days for about a year before I got laid off + quitting the 7.25 for something bigger and better. I'm now reaping the rewards still from that 1 year hustle. I've had about 2 years off of coasting... I think I'm ready to go back for my next big hustle.
I currently hold two job and its still not enough money to pay all my bills and start saving. All these finance experts talk about saving money, getting a nest egg going, etc. thats not reachable if you're paid pennies on the dollar
get a loan and go to school and major in something that you are guaranteed a job and better pay. I did this with nursing. went from making 8 dollars an hour, lived in an RV in school. Five years later making six figures and starting my Masters degree in anesthesia next month

Yet, all DemocRATS care about is making sure they get citizenship for 11 - 30 million 3rd grade educated Illegal Aliens! They will all be on welfare if they ever are legalized! I did an essay on income inequality I’ve learned that the upper class increased from $180,00 to $350,000 in the past 48 years in income while the middle to lower class have stayed at a constant of $50,000 or below in income for 48 years with no type of increase. If you think income inequality needs to be fixed like this comment.
@Sudhir Kakar so what do we say to those who do go to college to learn of a skill, who have acquired a degree(s) {because now a lot of people have multiple} and once they are done either still get paid 14.00/hr or no one wants to hire? They did the work of going to college and getting the degree(s), now they're in debt and may still have to accept the same jobs that a person who hasn't gone that route would. Sometimes it not really a matter of oh "they need to learn how to push and apply themselves" "get a skill" "go to college" many of my peers have done this and can possibly still be stuck in the rut. So??
@Sudhir Kakar That doesn't answer the question. And no their degrees may not be in any random field that no one is looking to hire. Also I said peers as in multiple people.
@Sudhir Kakar The issue is there has been an increase in people becoming impoverished in America. That American dream that actually existed 30-40 years ago, does not exist anymore. Working harder and going to a good school is nothing to the bigger problem that capatilism renders on a society. You say education is to fix this all, well tell me what happens when everyone has a Docotorate, the value decreases, then what do we resort to? Experience? Then people demand higher sallaries because they have a PHD and businesses cannot function with everyone demanding higher sallaries, that means theres no profit and if theres no profit theres no incentive to run businesses, which means no jobs. School is not the answer to this problem, you should be smart enough to realise this.
Thats because Western european corporations think about making profits for theur shareholder and the well being of their people aka Rhinelandmodel In America your shareholders have a lot of.power and they care about maximumprofit So yeah
@Ron - Sure they do want to pay you more, but they want some value in return. Give them an amazing skill and they will gladly provide an amazing wage....but flipping burgers at Burger King is anything short of "amazing"... Other than having a big heart and good intentions.
True. If wages are raised because of government intervention, jobs will easily be lost to automation. Thus the super highway to the inevitable will be exhilarated through higher minimum wages.
What i say when robots start taking our jobs is to destroy them like philadelphia did with that robot that was going coast to coast in america. Just break them poor water on them. Theyll eventually get tired of paying for robots over and over.
It doesn't matter if the minimum wage goes up to $30 an hour because rent for a one-bedroom apartment will then go up to $5,000 a month. The key is to learn to find the courage to leave the rat race altogether.
The smart become rich while the stupid remain poor, if you gave a million dollars to everyone the same people who are rich now will remain rich while the stupid go back to being poor.
Mel S Too bad so sad. Cry me a river. The rich getting richer is absolutely normal and natural. Look up the pareto principle. Once you have money is 100x easier to attain more.
Don't worry, Universal Basic Income is already a rapidly growing idea in the western world. When the economy collapses, and the average American can't make ends meet, shit will hit the fan, the trend of automation and job loss will continue, and the VAST majority will be on your side. When that happens, the 50/50 political split will drastically shift LEFT-ward. When that happens, who are the majority going to support and bring into power??? The political leaders that tell them they need to "suck it up" and "pull themselves up by the boot straps", OR the political leaders promoting the handouts that the rich will be paying for.
That wouldn't make a difference, because of the Pareto Distribution which is basically a natural law that implies the INEVITABILITY of a hierarchy. Inequality is NOT the problem. The problem I see is POVERTY and the constant threat of HOMELESSNESS. I think the goal should be to have a society that continues to run on a competitive capitalist system, BUT, also has a social safety net that protects those at the bottom from ending up on the street, under a bridge or doomed to a life of slaving away 50+ hrs a week JUST to get by. I think with the current and coming technological trends of automation and A.I. it will be possible to do this, by eventually having some form of wealth redistribution (like a UBI) to push back against the inevitable destabilizing extremities of the Pareto distribution.

well there is, but it sure is a lot smaller than it used to be! And the amount you need to earn to be "middle class" is drastically more than it used to be. Now "middle-class" earners start at about 60 or 80 thousand. The middle class used to be in the 20 thousands and up...nowadays this is poverty.
I 100% disagree. At my first job, the owner was making less than $30,000 a year. I know this because I helped with payroll and accounting. He was struggling to pay the bills. He owned 100% of the company, but was still broke AF. You also have workers at companies making 6 figures. Engineers, software developers, database admins, physicians, lawyers, accountants, traders, project managers, etc. They are not "owners" in any way. They work for someone else that makes more than them. But they live VERY comfortably. Nice home, good car, vacations, etc. These people are the middle class, in the traditional definition of the word. The old spectrum used to be wealthy(owners of large business)> middle class(small business owners and skilled professionals > Working class(lower-paying blue collar workers like manufacturing or trades) > poor(those not working or with very limited part time employment)
Far more people make $80k now than back then though. $80k now is pretty average and middle class, professionals can hit that salary pretty easily. To earn $80k back then you had to climb really high up the corporate ladder to be a CFO, Program Manager, etc.
Right? I hate it when people say the less wealthy take advantage of the system. Yeah some people may do that but the rich take advantage of the system.
Minimum wage jobs were never meant to support a family. Factory and corporate jobs have always been our mainstay. For the last 8+ years our corporate taxes were the highest in the world. Corporations left America and took those higher paying jobs with them. Now, finally, the current administration has lowered them back down and corporate decent paying jobs are returning. Things will continue to get better as long as we don't go back to democratic tax and spend policies.
Minimum Wage Would Be $22 An Hour If It Had Kept Up With Productivity. “If we started in 1960 and we said that as productivity goes up, that is as workers are producing more, then the minimum wage is going to go up the same. And if that were the case then the minimum wage today would be about $22 an hour,” she said, speaking to Dr. Arindrajit Dube, a University of Massachusetts Amherst professor who has studied the economic impacts of minimum wage. “So my question is Mr. Dube, with a minimum wage of $7.25 an hour, what happened to the other $14.75? It sure didn’t go to the worker.” Dube went on to note that if minimum wage incomes had grown over that period at the same pace as it had for the top 1 percent of income earners, the minimum wage would actually be closer to $33 an hour than the current $7.25. - Elizabeth Warren, March 19, 2013, www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/18/elizabeth-warren-minimum-wage_n_2900984.html "[N]o business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country. By "business" I mean the whole of commerce as well as the whole of industry; by workers I mean all workers, the white collar class as well as the men in overalls; and by living wages I mean more than a bare subsistence level - I mean the wages of decent living." - Franklin Roosevelt's Statement on the National Industrial Recovery Act, June 16, 1933

Naturally, these naive people just love freedom of speech. My dog loves to bark outside too! But she was easily taught to be quiet after dark (because it's polite to respect my neighbors). Then again, a idiot dog owner often times doesn't care to teach their dog things like this. (I also watch real court tv cases and know some shows aren't real too) How insane! Fake court tv cases!? Tip of the iceberg! Naturally, fake wrestling always attracted the uneducated crowds. Our puppet masters have stealthy came up with so many new ways to dummy down society. Many things on tv prove it. Not just the tactics most people don't see, but the way too many shows that are so tacky, immoral and flat out stupid. But ratings prove that there is a huge market of viewers. So much for our so called "advanced computer learning age" that had computers in classrooms over 20 years ago! Yet the proof is everywhere that way too high a percentage of society is way dumber than they should be. Look how addicted so many people are to their "smartphones". If only they knew all the ways this is affecting their feeble vulnerable brains. Easy money once again for the puppet masters. They could care less about what they are doing to vulnerable humans brains. Profit trumps morals in the most critical areas of our society and few people can 'see' the details to begin connecting the dots. Basically, much of what's on tv is just like cartoons for kids...for all our adult manchilds.
To people who say 'get a better job' I say no, the real issue is that they need to pay people more. Not everyone is ambitious or wants to go to university, or cannot afford it, but they still might work incredibly hard, the fact is they need to be paid more. The whole system is messed up, stop blaming the workers for not being ambitious enough. PAY PEOPLE MORE
Paying them more won't do shit. The free market balances itself out, and things will just become more expensive so they'll be left in the same position.
I think we need to cut a lot of social welfare programs actually. I just don't think increasing minimum wage is a viable solution, if anything we should abolish minimum wage entirely.
@@afreedman4361 Henry Ford made the 40 hour rule. The underlying issue is monetary policy but more specifically "Keynesian economics". Our current .notary system is unconstitutional. Therefore, the social security act act of 1934 was to illegal trade our time/life experience/soul as human capital. Furthermore, the Federal Reserve is owned by the Bank of England and the Bank of England is owned by the Vatican...please look into this, my friend.

The sad reality of this country. It's even worse for the homeless veterans and disabled people who are discriminated from employers of fortune 500 companies like Dollar tree, McDonald's, and Target. Etc Etc.
Jaime Torres I’m going to be honest with you. We actually take care of our homeless veterans. I’m a Disabled Veteran and my husband is a Retired Disabled Veteran. In all honesty, Veterans are just regular people and some of them have gotten kicked out of the military and have not gone back to change their statuses to a honorable discharge so they could be eligible for benefits. Then there are those who have PTSD like my husband who are just stuck. Luckily, my husband has me to help him through those hard times. I push him to be the best he can be. We are not discriminated by employers, especially when employers get special benefits for hiring veterans. There are also veterans with businesses and they hire other veterans. Our homeless programs are amazing. Unfortunately, those on the outside looking in don’t know what’s really going on because they hear these sob stories from either fake veterans or Veterans who weren’t smart enough to use their VA home loans while they were in service.
The American dream I was told about was a lie. Got accepted into one of the top 10 engineering schools, parents were poor and couldn't help me with tuition. Had to work 7 days a week, 12/13 hours a day to save up money, losing 3 years of my life in the process, just to get a college degree for a better life......When will you wake up America? The system doesn't work like it used to.
Illegals/immigrants do better than the citizens. Thats the whole point of Immigration. You seriously need to stop blaming 0.01% illegals for the miseries of the 99.99% and start owning up to your own faults.
Stannis Baratheon They reduced the price of labor and don't pay taxes on top of that. They also increased the demand for housing, causing housing prices to be inflated. Since companies now have more access to immigrant workers who are willing to take low pay - they can continue keeping wages low.
Steve Bia, of course they pay taxes, its idiotic to say otherwise. Someone must pay taxes on any money that a business make (which 'illegals' work in). The employers pay them less to use the money to pay taxes for those 'illegals'. Again, stop blaming the 0.01% illegals and be a man nad own up to your own faults.
Unfortunately it's the American Way ... Work... pay bills... STRESSED OUT... not much of a social, family, religious life.... not much days off... work...work...work....work....work.... grow old FAST because you're stressed the f'u*k out.
But don't you understand it doesn't have to be that way? It's only that way because we allow it to be. Its like we are the hamster in the wheel. If you take a moment to just step away and take a mental time out from your life and jot down some notes about your life you will realize so many changes you can make to make your life so much easier better. When you do you will notice how much happier you can and will be. First and foremost why don't you have as many days off? Are you working at a dead end job that's not paying you enough? Start seeking a job a job that pays you better and makes you happy. There's endless opportunities out there for everyone if we seek it. Sometimes we just have to put in some work. As for the bills. What bills are they? Can you close out some of those credit cards reducing your bills? How about that cable bill? Do you really watch all of those channels? Could you go to a lower plan or go basic? Questions like that you should ask yourself. Try minimizing or eliminating your bills and make things easier. Then you will see the light at the end of the tunnel and see that life can be beautiful and you do not have to go by fast nor do you have to grow old fast because I am American and i do not see things your way. i am enjoying life everyday through the good and bad times because I follow these very guidelines. Remember we only live once. So you stress yourself out for what?? I choose to enjoy my life you should do the same.
@@lmjo4660 Not true at all. I am not rich. However I make enough money to survive and I am still able to enjoy life and I don't have to be stressed out about anything. I live a stress free life.

Ryan B Walmart wasn’t this countries largest employer either. Fast food jobs (as a percentage) were nowhere near as dominant either. I’m not saying your wrong but generations before ours could pay for house as an envelope licker for Christ sake.. technology has taken most low skill jobs and there aren’t enough high skilled jobs to give to lower class citizens who educate themselves.. The issue is a lot more complex than your blanket statement about fast food jobs.. retail jobs used to be considered a career as well...
Poverty is not just because you didn't go to school or because of bad decisions, Some don't go to school and end up millionaire . You are seeing it here, people who graduate from college and have high titles struggle to make ends meet. Leaving many with no choice but to receive government help. For some of us is not a choice but a necessity.
Estrada S Exactly. Sometimes I cant believe the comment sections.. People so want to believe that the world is a meritocracy even when the opposite is shown to them over and over again. It's a form of bias - when you've got it good you cant relate. I for one have learnt the hard way that excelling in school, having multiple university degrees in my field plus extra merits & work experience doesnt land me a decent job in my 30's whereas people with less schooling and merits get those jobs. But in the end I like to think of it like 'when a window closes a door opens' - the jobs I'm talking about arent that glamorous anyway so maybe it just pushes me towards something better. But it sure is devastating to find yourself in that situation! So I can totally relate and more, the guy on the video was doing the _right thing_ in helping out his family but nobody seems to even notice that here.. And saying he could just become manager overnight etc. - How do you know whose son/daughter walked over him with no credentials? Do you think he might have faced discrimination at some point? Again, if you havent lived it you wont believe it. Good luck to this guy and others in similar situations!!
They choose to work there. If a person is unhappy with that, then they should dedicate their time to entering a different, more lucrative career. Life is all about choices and hard work, there is no shortcut to success. Raising the minimum wage would just be counterbalanced by things becoming more expensive, and people would be ultimately left in the same position they started in. Unskilled labor doesn't pay well, and it never will.
Andrew that's a fallacy. Every job done well overtime develops skills. A fast food worker can give great customer service, be speedy, make sure food is fresh and prepared right and with care if they are appreciated and compensated properly. Aren't you sick of going to McDonald's and getting undercooked soft fries and lousy customer service? Well you get what the bosses paid for!
I agree. You can develop valuable skills working any job but that doesn't mean all types of work justify high pay. Soon enough McDonalds will be fully automated, and honestly I don't really mind if that happens.
@@Mohit-zn2rn , Just keep trying as you get older and hopefully your income goes up even if you can only save $5 / $10 here and there set it and don't spend it will eventually add up. I saved throughout the years but my biggest savings came after my mortgage was paid for and I applied that money towards savings. I also got a profit sharing from work and I tried saving as much of that as I could one year it had to go towards a new roof a different year that plus extra bought a new furnace and air conditioning. If you ever have a job that has a 401k contribute to that as much as you possibly can I think if you can at least put 5% in you won't even notice that missing from your weekly paycheck. I wish you luck
I believe there's no such thing as the "American Dream" anymore. We don't have time to dream because we are too busy working at least one job and struggling to take care of our families. Most of us are struggling just to survive. There's no point in hoping for more or wishing we could do something different. My husband and I both work & both of our mothers live with us(neither of them can work due to health issues) ....we were denied food stamps because we both have jobs but the only food we can afford to buy is things to make sandwiches with and soups. Almost all of our money goes to rent & utilities. It's a never-ending cycle of struggling to just survive in America nowdays
I speak from personal experience; besides, if the overprivileged & common people remet in between to share decision process fairly, then USA would be reasonably better.
American dream was a slogan created in the 50's for consumerism. It's a public relations creation to a feeling of self fulfillment and trap citizens in a world of needs. Fill the black hole with things.... in reality we don't need. Psychological conditioning to be trapped in foolish extreme consumerism. Basically making us addicts.

I'm driving a 19 year old vehicle with over 300k miles, and I'm typing this on a used phone I bought on ebay. Meanwhile my company owner took the tax cuts for himself while giving me a generous 15 cent raise. I did everything right. I have no student loans and no car loans, but I can't afford a 60k loan for a house. The rich will only learn once they run out of our money.
My circumstances are not out of reason. I am not looking for sympathy. I'm stating something to agree with a video. If you want a fight, go elsewhere. I'm happy that you could retire under ideal circumstances. If you have any more cutting remarks, kindly fuck off. My generation's cost of living is far higher than yours was. Wealth inequality in America is immoral while most other first world established countries have free healthcare for their citizens, plenty of paid sick days off, and higher wages so they can live respectfully and take care of their families no one should be too poor to live in the United States of America this is a damn shame.
just wanted to ask is that $17 dollars an hour Net Pay or Gross Pay? if its Net Pay sounds decent but if its Gross Pay then your not really taking home $17 per hour. because depending where you live & where you work then you have percentage of income tax taken out of your paycheck. so worst case scenario 35% of your pay check would be taxed so then $17 x .35 = 5.95 so $17 - 5.95 = $11.05

Well, I live in Germany and there you don't need to go to university to be successful, you can work there for 3 years, then you get a diploma, that gives you (it's limited tho) access to university! Germany is far better than the US! #WelfareState #FuckTheRepublicans

This reminds me of when I moved to Orlando. Took me a month to find a job minimum wage and only 8 hours a week. I finally found another job but they wouldn't give me more then 16 hours a week making 10.50 an hour because they didn't want to pay insurance. Got another job again only 8 or 15 hours a week. Making 10.50 they didn't want to pay insurance. I ended up sleeping in my car for two days. I had 4,000 in the bank that I saved before I moved to Orlando. But I didn't touch it. I couldn't prove I made enough money to get an apartment and I couldn't find another place to rent. I ended up getting a hotel because sleeping in my car made me sick. I have up and went home. Moving into a three bedroom two bath home with a job right away. It helps when you know people!
ya mom said I could ...Michael had such a genuine soul. He was so right too. Yet look at naive people who still think politicians are worth listening too. The right answers are out there if you listen closely, read a lot, critique yourself on your own past opinions (almost nobody knows how to do this objectively) and keep learning how to problem solve correctly. There's more...but can't write a book here). Big business doesn't care but use tricks to fool the naive. Politicians and the media are not on the working man's side. That great song is so true. Michael was one of only a few rich people who didn't sell us out. He was all about world unity. Just the opposite of "divide and conquer", which is what the powerful people want to stay in power. Why is this so hard for so many people to learn? They are truly lost sheep.
Can’t do that. If the employees get sick or something from the food, they can sue the companies. A lot of liability. Bet they would mind if they weren’t at risk for helping someone out.
Well, all the good jobs are mostly in expensive cities like NY, SF, LA etc. The smaller cities have all died out pretty much. If you cant live in a city with good jobs, look outside america. Scandanavia is a good bet, as their safety net and middle class is the envy of the world. Scandavaia actually invests in their people, while America invests in those who are wealthy.
just me while better jobs is out there some people just don't qualify for those better jobs some might say pick up a trade however if you working to jobs just to maintain basic living necessities than going back to school is not an option for that their isn't this available in your schedule
No it's not.. I bet there are a tiny % of Burger King employees who have been there for 11 years. Most move on to bigger and better things. Burger King is an entry level job for a high school kid... Nothing more.................... Unless you go into restaurant management.
I know lots of people who are working two jobs just to have a roof over there heads. Some have to live with roommates because it's impossible to live anywhere on your own if you don't make a decent amount. The prices on houses keep going up, rent keeps going up, grocery's keep going up, health insurance keeps going up, gasoline keeps going up, electric keeps going up, and the list goes on. If anyone makes under 15 dollars an hour they will struggle to live. School taxes go up every year so should minimum wage.
The system is not broken cause you can rise beyond your wildest dream. The question is have you ever tried? Alot of countries with communist policy keeps you to the lowest of the low. So count your blessings.
11 years at Burger King 🤔. I respect the hustle, but dam man u couldn't move up within the company? You couldn't find another job? Appears you been stagnant! Nonetheless I salute you man because that's tough! I pray your situation changes.
Wtf wouldnt you do construction instead of flip burgers if your able? In eleven years you'd have a trade mastered and being paid well. People act like those jobs dont exist.
11 years and he is not even an assistant manager. If retail is going to be your career you have to move up. You have to plan on at least being a store manager.
This is what happens when you vote against your economic interests. Since Reagan, working and middle class people have seen their wages shrink, while they're being asked to finance their own retirement and healthcare which leaves very little money to sock away.
Ive seen small business go under because of Reganomics but not the pay. That started when Nixon started and Johnson expanded affirmative action. Welfare fraud is out of control. I do agree about the 1 % taking all the riches but so do all the migrants coming from Somalia, etc.
The same Republicans fighting tooth and nail to block higher minimum wages are the same ones wondering and complaining about working families who have to rely on public assistance.
I make $14 an hour as a 22 year old, better than most people my age. But honestly i still find myself struggling with money sometimes. I'm beyond blessed for the position I'm in, but i know it can change in an instant .Its hard to make a living these days.
Aaron Fisher, im also in my 20's but making 15 an hour in a city that 11 is minimum wage. Now i do feel lucky making that much an hour but the people i work are quick to judge and label you as the black sheep ounce the boss doesnt like you....
Yep. $13 hour, about 35-40 a week. But my debt from school, medical, and rent etc take up over 95 percent of my income. The rest is struggling for transportation to and from work. With this, especially mainly rent being so expensive, I and my employees can't hang out with friends. A lot of us can barely afford cheap groceries. Definitely can't afford to buy clothes when we need it.
Housing, education and healthcare are significantly more expensive in real terms now than in the 70s. See lecture by Elizabeth Warren around 2005 on why the middle class is struggling. To me, the most appalling thing is the cost if college, it is 4x to 5x more expensive than just 15 yrs ago. Someone needs to audit our public universities and understand why.
@@BlueKrait1 I agree that it takes two to tango. Kids should be leary on amassing debt for a lib arts degree. College education should not be free. To value something, you need to pay for it, and treat it like an investment. However, no one has adequately explained why college tuition has skyrocketed. My guess - colleges jacked up rates as the cost of borrowing has been very low due to the Fed. By the way, Warren was not speaking on tuition, but on the other costs I mentioned. She is not a turd, but someone who actually gives a damn about the common person, unlike the banks that run both parties.
Higher taxes and handouts aren't a viable solution to anyones problems. Limited government and free market are the only hope of financial prosperity. The system rewards those who work hard and make the right choices, so just go do that.

Fuck no.
wtf 3k in car payment?
College is a trap(nothing is free). Very expensive. Reason why the American people have to follow to the U.S. constitution. Fiat currency will be gold/silver by 2020. And it will help through the inflation towards the economy. Also, minimum wage and government laws are apart of this oppression.
Leif C. Let me guess: taxation is theft
@@ShidaiTaino It is and it's history all over again. July 4th, 1776. I know for sure our tax dollars are stolen and given to the corrupt politicians who are helping out the NWO

@Sudhir Kakar correctly, mk

Their is "NO" such thing as middle class.
well there is, but it sure is a lot smaller than it used to be! And the amount you need to earn to be "middle class" is drastically more than it used to be. Now "middle-class" earners start at about 60 or 80 thousand. The middle class used to be in the 20 thousands and up...nowadays this is poverty.
Le Tinh Song it’s called inflation. $80,000 30 years ago meant you were in the upper class.
Robert Mendivil Not no more..😖
Meanwhile the rich companies can avoid paying taxes. Very uneven
Right? I hate it when people say the less wealthy take advantage of the system. Yeah some people may do that but the rich take advantage of the system.
When rent is $1200 for a one bedroom but minimum wage is $7.25 you wonder why more and more people live paycheck to paycheck.
That’s your fault for paying that much for rent while getting pay 7.25.
@@ianalan4367 Yes they were, Roosevelt intended them for this purpose, and people did just that back then.

"[N]o business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country. By "business" I mean the whole of commerce as well as the whole of industry; by workers I mean all workers, the white collar class as well as the men in overalls; and by living wages I mean more than a bare subsistence level - I mean the wages of decent living."

@@johnnyp3839 ...Correct. The more I keep learning, the more I learn about what is never taught! That's one reason why the most uneducated and/or naive people think so highly of their massively flawed opinions. They base their opinions on less than 10% of all the real necessary information they need to know, but don't have a clue about the 90% of information they don't know. Much of this missing information can only be learned by constant self teaching. This takes years of effort and also good problem solving skills to begin with.
Johnny P way to fave reality that you’re a loser
To people who say 'get a better job' I say no, the real issue is that they need to pay people more. Not everyone is ambitious or wants to go to university, or cannot afford it, but they still might work incredibly hard, the fact is they need to be paid more. The whole system is messed up, stop blaming the workers for not being ambitious enough. PAY PEOPLE MORE
why pay more when liberals provided them with cheap 3rd world people who will accept 3rd world wages?
blame government devaluing the $ , not business owners
Paying them more won't do shit. The free market balances itself out, and things will just become more expensive so they'll be left in the same position.
turnover profit , is different after wages and expenses
I think we need to cut a lot of social welfare programs actually. I just don't think increasing minimum wage is a viable solution, if anything we should abolish minimum wage entirely.

Veterans are discriminated against at McDonald's and Dollar Tree? I bet I could get them a job in less than 24hrs.

Stannis Baratheon Deport the illegals and sterilize those who are below the 75th percentile of IQ or wealth.

They choose to work there. If a person is unhappy with that, then they should dedicate their time to entering a different, more lucrative career. Life is all about choices and hard work, there is no shortcut to success. @1000 subs with no videos she not a dumbass, middle class is disappearing so people dont know how it is to live a fair life.
Yes their is.
Thank you!
This system is so corrupted! Smh
The system in the Netherlands is the best
@Andrea Mendenhall MAGA 2020. I don't vote democrat because purely of their history. High tax and high wage leads to Poverty!
The system is not broken cause you can rise beyond your wildest dream. The question is have you ever tried? Alot of countries with communist policy keeps you to the lowest of the low. So count your blessings.
It was designed that way
Typical. When idiots make the mistakes and can't come up with solutions they all blame the "system". Nice try.
11 years at Burger King 🤔. I respect the hustle, but dam man u couldn't move up within the company? You couldn't find another job? Appears you been stagnant! Nonetheless I salute you man because that's tough! I pray your situation changes.
OMG that's sad 11 year's
11 years u can be CEO or Manager for Mcdonald dude... lol he must wack asf in job
CEO of the entire company and manager of one restaurant are entirely different jobs, stay in school.
Wtf wouldnt you do construction instead of flip burgers if your able? In eleven years you'd have a trade mastered and being paid well. People act like those jobs dont exist.
to what? fry cook or CEO of Manager. Not much else to offer at Micky D's
11 years and he is not even an assistant manager. If retail is going to be your career you have to move up. You have to plan on at least being a store manager.
For real I would of been out of there. Once I found out it was a dead end. Gotta keep looking for something better.
Diane Sawyer...."college savings for the kids?" Oh please....
This is what happens when you vote against your economic interests. Since Reagan, working and middle class people have seen their wages shrink, while they're being asked to finance their own retirement and healthcare which leaves very little money to sock away.
Michael Alexander Bingo!!!!!!!! 🙌
Ive seen small business go under because of Reganomics but not the pay. That started when Nixon started and Johnson expanded affirmative action. Welfare fraud is out of control.
I do agree about the 1 % taking all the riches but so do all the migrants coming from Somalia, etc.
Michael Alexander Reaganomics destroyed Middle Class America
The same Republicans fighting tooth and nail to block higher minimum wages are the same ones wondering and complaining about working families who have to rely on public assistance.
I pray God blesses this man and his family.
Aaron Fisher 👏👏👏...and just try to..BUY..less🙇♀️ ...and Live a minimalist🙇♀️...Lifestyle🙇♀️👍👍😊
Definitely can't afford to buy clothes when we need it.
linne zebo w2 sucks.. find what you love and make a living
What the heck did you study and what do you do for a living (you doing the job you studied for in college) ?
Jere Here; FAX!
and you have rich people complaining they get taxed too much...smh
Higher taxes and handouts aren't a viable solution to anyones problems. Limited government and free market are the only hope of financial prosperity. The system rewards those who work hard and make the right choices, so just go do that.
Nolan Cruz Smith they are
Bill Clinton killed a lot of small business
Higher taxes in Australia , everyones equally poor and struggling
Nolan Cruz Smith - those rich people complaining are the ones who hire people. Ever get a paycheck from a poor person?
I’ve seen this video so many times over the years. And the problems are just as bad now as they were then.
Damn my job seems so much better after watching this. We get benefits and vacation time and really cheap great food 24/7 free drinks. All the good stuff Im gonna stop taking for granted after seeing this lol
Chris Wilson same. Shit this man takes 8 busses to work and im complaining about silly stuff
You know something...you have got a great point here!!
Chris Wilson you think?
It's because corporations don't give a crap about Americans. And this is also the fault of towns taxing the crap out of it's citizens
All I wanna say is that They don't really care about us...R.I.P KING MJ
why would they if you dont give them a reason
The matrix is 20 years old, I think as of 2020...
BACK IN 2005 in MICHIGAN,

Life is a cycle. Anything can happen to anyone.
Dam right it’s just incredible I’m a firefighter and can’t afford a home for my family
Mid level firefighters in California make $100,000
I’m not moving I love my city and California is expensive as hell living there you might make more money but you spend more money. Love helping my neighborhood if you had car problems I’ll be the one stoping and offer my help you if you on the side of the road I do it for love of my city.
Ed Mira yes you can go sign up for NACA I closed on my home last year...0% down ..you can buy your interest rate down to virtually almost 0% and no closing costs. NACA doesn’t go by your credit scores either. You just have to go through their stringent underwriting process and make sure you have the minimum required funds for your home. I suggest that anything on your credit you get it removed and sign up for the workshop in your city or nearest city that offers NACA ! Trust me I thought it was impossible but it’s not I have a beautiful 4 sided brick home with a lot of front and back yard space and my family and me could never be happier...go for it God Bless 🙏🏿
Thanks for that advice I heard of NACA I’m going to check it out thank you
Ed Mira you’re welcome 😊
No matter your race, color, creed or political stance we are all humans. We all have basic needs that need to be taken care of. We need to unite, to protect the interests of the people.
That's communism.
Vile Crocodile We need socialism.
basically, take from those that have, cause they didnt deserve it
Yeah sure try telling that to the rich people
ーアレキサンダ the Chinese could have taken over the USA at one point until the government decided to embargo on their importation
