This is a beautiful document of my favorite pianist of all time! His awesome ability is amazing but what’s more remarkable is his sweet manner and composure after such a strenuous concert!
@@FutureAbe I believe Yevgeny Kissin is the reincarnation of Chopin himself. Hearing him play Chopins 24 Preludes convinced me of what I have suspected for many years.
@@789armstrong I don’t know about reincarnation myself, but I do believe Kissin plays Chopin perfectly. The same way I think Lang Lang plays Mozart effortlessly and playfully. Kissin embodies Chopin in his playing

It is special to be alive to hear so gifted a young pianist, much like it would have been to hear Horowitz in the mid 1920s, or Lipatti during the war years. He is alone - at present - in his mechanical command of the instrument.

This vid was 3 years ago and I am just now in 2020 seeing it for the first time!! In 2020 he has been playing to his credit in the Verbier Festival in alps from the beginning and it shows his evolution from when I first saw his playing as with everyone else. While I like this wholly I dont think he is the best just one of many bests now. He has really changed but I noticed he still rocks his body while playing. Also he still looks into the void while playing. He is truly an amazing person!!.
@@robertflynn6686 My copy is a VHS tape which I bought in 2000. I believe the dvd actually came out a year or two earlier. The film is a Christopher Nupen film that came from Allegro films. My VHS tapes are packed away somewhere. I may find time to look for it later but the content is freely available on UA-cam.
There is no such thing as a greater pianist, that is nonsense. If you like it most than others that's it, it is your taste. Kissing is in my top 5 for sure.
