2:11 to be fair, Blitz didn't say _no-one_ in Hell speaks Spanish - in fact, Carmilla Carmine AND Vaggie both speak it natively. He only said _he_ doesn't speak it. though you'd think he'd at least recognise it.
Moxxie's hallucination also says "Satan's Plain English" in Truth Seekers which implies that native hellborn also know different languages....
And that Satan is behind english specifically

the demographics (right down to just the raw population numbers) of the afterlife raise /a lot/ of questions the shows will almost certainly never even consider addressing.

FINALLY, I saw people talking crap about this short, saying the animation was bad compared to the others and I was like "...... Are we watching the same thing???" I've been genuinely looking forward to watching you break this down in particular.
I agree man. This short is a lot more slap stick comedy so they do more goofy animations but there are still stellar animation moments.

Honestly ever since I learned how the online forums talked about the Simpsons' golden age (S3-S9) I've learned to disregard 90% of online discourse.
Some of the best television ever and they where saying the show was going downhill all the time, its insane to me.

The object handling -farmer picking up goat, petting, letting it down- also gives the background character "something to do". Amazing Digital Circus did something similar with a few of its characters, honestly gives something for the audience to spot.
So glad someone else also has that specific fixation with the movement of the goat’s head when being pet
5:50 I will note - somewhat anecdotally as a Midwestern American - if anyone is going to love a goofy Mexican Stereotype, it's most likely going to be Mexicans.
When Warner Bros. was planning on retiring the character of Speedy Gonzales out of worry for offending their latino audience, the biggest push to get Speedy back came _from latinos,_ who absolutely loved the character - hence the TVTropes Trope "Mexicans Love Speedy Gonzales."
On the stereotype thing: it's pretty mild tbh, and Brandon himself is of Spanish descent (not Mexican, yes, but Hispanic), and has been the target of racism before. Not saying that a joke being okay to him = okay to everyone, but many mexicans (myself included) you meet are ok with tame stuff like this. And the voice actor for the character created The Book Of Life.
Also, Vivianne herself is Hispanic, isn't she? But yeah, most reactions to things like this from people of Mexican or Hispanic heritage finds it in good taste.
Anecdotally, I knew one person from Mexico who thought that something like Speedy Gonzales was hilarious and took more offense from people calling it offensive than anything.
Not my place to decide of course, not my heritage, just that's been my experience with other people's opinions.

@TomSketchit Most of the staff on this were Latino, voice actors included. Monica Franco is Latina, Viv is Latina, Brandon is Latino, and Jorge is, too. Basically everybody who would be giving input, aside from Millie & Moxxie's VAs.
@TomSketchit Yes, same thing with going to Mexico in a huge sombrero. Mexicans do not find it offensive, it is a piece of the culture. It is more offensive to call any common representation an offensive stereotype. Many mexicans cartoons will have these same character archetypes, and it is true to life (though exaggerated). Viv might be Hispanic haha, I would not know.

His design is not that offensive, the worst would be LA Hoods existing in places that aren't LA. Like a Latin hood existing in Quebec with the SoCal Dailect. This guy is basically the Mexican Redneck stereotype, but a pretty inoffensive one. He doesn't even have the Bottle Opener Belt Buckle. The Tequila with the straw is bad, but the Worm with the Cowboy Hat loops it to being very funny. It's basically as edgy as The Adventures of Many Rivera
The sandle thing is a Latin Mom thing. To the point that a pirate lady in KOF is considered a Honerary Latina because she has a super where she beats you to death with a sandle.
And I had to look up the 100 Pesos, at that moment it was $5.14. But conversations fluctuat so it could go up 55 cents.

To be entirely honest, I grew up being taught that Mexicans love being racist about Mexicans. (I'm like 50% a mix of Mexican/Native) And everything I've seen from Mexican-American culture suggests my family was pretty typical. So, you really have to dig deep if you actually want to offend a Mexican with racism. We usually find the stereotypes funny.
Vivienne Medrano, the creator, is Latina (Salvadorean). I am too. Trust me, there was nothing racist, at least no more than the way citizens of LA were portrayed.
The goat headed god you might have been thinking about could be Ammon from the Egyptian pantheon. I remember him because ammonites (the prehistoric cephalopods) are named after him since their shells often resemble ram horns. 🐐🐙

@@chongwillson972 they use to toast them and eat them as part of an appetizer while drinking or making tequila during harvesting the agaves, then 1 company start putting a worm on the tequila to show that was an agave worm which meant it was real tequila, some other thought it gave you allucinations which meant it was "good" tequila but in the end it was mostly taking an old custom from farmers and turn it in to a marketing ploy.
In 1977 they banned it mexico to use worms in tequila, so if you see any now its most likely a cheap mesqual in some case an adulterated one so care.

I agree that we shouldn't assume he's completely worthless in the sack just because he is bad at one specific thing, but there's a wide spectrum of sex proficiency in-between. He doesn't have to be on the extreme ends of the spectrum, there's room in the middle for someone to *both* be bad at eating out *and* dating a succubus.

HELL YEAH i love when you spend lots of time slowly going through animation. Ever since you started doing these i find myself going frame by frame when watching movies and shows on my own, it definitively elevated my already high appreciation of the craft :)

I’ve noticed the problem with Blitzo and cages/prisons, because they love having his head outside of the bars, but his body inside, yet his head is the widest part of him, so if it fits out, so does the rest of him.
One thing is that I am unsure where this short set at. The DHORKS are there but the guy is asking for Mexican Pesos. He speaks english and spanish with a northern Mexican accent. While his wife speaks in a Caribean accent, most likely Puerto Rican, or Cuban, which is odd. It is a dessert with no huge cacti which is more Nortern Mexico rather than Arizona or New Mexico. So my guess is northern Mexico but it is not ideally set up
Woman born in Cuban or Puerto Rico marries a man from North Mexico and joins him on his goat farm. Seems perfectly cromulant.
