A missed opportunity.
If I had a dollar for every time Russell Crowe acted in a movie about a possessed exorcist, I would have 2 dollars, which isn’t a lot but it’s interesting that it’s happened twice…in under two years.

This was actually filmed before The Pope's Exorcist and when covid happened it got shelved indefinitely. It used to be titled "The Georgetown Project" I'm honestly super excited and intrigued by this one more because the talent behind it is amazing.

Awards are mostly political in their bestowals. A lot of Hollywood isn't as concerned about telling good stories and hiring people based off talent anymore. With low interest rates no longer a thing, I think movies will have to become better because of increased financial risks. We'll see what happens.
Director & co-writer Joshua Miller played Homer in "Near Dark". His father played Father Karras in "The Exorcist" & his half brother played Michael in "The Lost Boys". He is definitely going meta and having fun with this concept.

Honestly, I wish the trailer didn't reveal so much. If we got into it geniunely not knowning if Crowe's character is just off his rocker or is actually possesed it would make the movie a tad bit more schocking.

I liked the movie!! I always go to every scary/horror film that comes out & to have one come out in June not even during the fall i’ll take it :) I didn’t think it was boring whatsoever. There were a couple jump scares, the story was written well, the trailer shows enough but not all of it. It was different then other exorcism movies, as far as the plot! no other film has had a man possessed on a movie set… I enjoyed him in Pope’s exorcist more but this was good as well. He’s a great actor. The daughter & him were equally involved in screen-time. Definitely a jab at the Catholic Church like many other horror films!

I think a different title for this movie would have been a good idea as there have been so many exorcist movies and movies with exorcist in the title that it’s both confusing and also prevents the film from standing out. And some will wonder if this has any connections to the pope’s exorcist with Russell Crowe starred in but I believe there’s no connection but it’s going to confuse audiences.

Just watched it. Absolutely terrible. The entire movie was painfully boring and literally almost nothing happened. Little to no plot at all. I watched it with 2 other people and they also hated it. I highly highly recommend you do NOT watch it. 😅

Why can't movies be award worthy anymore. The exorcist won awards. Most movies now just feel like b grade bollywood movies
'The Exorcist', 1973, was adapted from a pretty good book. It's still, very easily IMO, the very best title in this sub genre.
