    As a matter of fact, Walter Davidson himself served as a factory rider, though all of the founders did test and cruised around in the bikes they made.

      In case anybody's reading this..
      After this race Harley-Davidson went on to win most all dirt track races until the Indians showed up and then it was Harley-Davidson in second place until then went out of business in 1953 and Harley Davidson one most of the dirt track races on XR 750 sportsters for the next 50 years against every major brand motorcycle made until now and the last few years the FTR 750 Indian has been laughing the Harleys in the 25 lap Grand national gnc1 mile dirt track races ... And I haven't checked this year yet but in 2015 the famous Indianapolis mile dirt track race for the Grand national championship was canceled indefinitely and then year before last they came back with any Mile and last year they didn't have the empty Mile and I don't know about this year but if you guys Marion Indiana I know you are dead serious about this famous race if there's something you can think of to protest the Indiana state fair board because they claim they don't make enough money off the Indy mile to allow it to run.... Hi claim if they want to be smart ass now they about it they need to make more grandstands because the place is usually packed and tickets sold standing room only every time they have a God damn race .. it was back in the 80s when they used to have back-to-back miles on Saturday night and Sunday night during the fair.... Talk about fights all night and no TV that's back when bubba shoburne turn defector and left Harley-Davidson racing team and hopped on a Honda has Honda had copied the xr750 but with a double overhead cam engine of the same and was whooping the Harley pretty bad... Let the Harley bagger riders were whooping the goldwing association pretty bad out in the parking lot you had to be there to see this a bunch of fat old men trying to smack each other with their fist but we're bumping bellies instead.. then literally here come two keystone cops on foot chasing a biker for smoking dope and 2000 fat old men beating each other up seeing the action and broke a truce for a second to let the biker run through the crowd and then close back up so so they block the keystone coppers trying to catch their grass smoking suspect... I don't know if it was a Saturday night race or Sunday night race but out in the parking lot I spied one of my favorite hot rod Harleys and that was the 1983-1984 XR100 all aluminum top end with the upswept tracker pipes on the left side and two Italian carburetors one on each head on the right side ... And this one looks box stock it was the gray one which I think was the 1984 and the red and black one for the 1983's but anyway on closer inspection the XR logo on the fuel tank look like the original except the number one in the number 1,000 had been exchange for the number two so it reads XR2000 like doublemint gum double your pleasure and double your fun.... So is the Sportster still rated as a girls bike today as it makes 121 horsepower and 94 ft lb of torque today .
      shade tree surgeon down in Florida makes money on the internet and libbing wise tracks about Harleys calling the new Pan American the dirt glide..
      But the new dirt glide wicks out 150hp from 1250cc V-Twin liquid cooled with four electronically controlled advanced and retard mechanical camshaft timing with four valves per combustion chamber to intention to exhaust two huge downdraft throttle bodies one on each cylinder head that are double overhead cam unit construction engine cases transmission with a 6-speed gearbox and the first motorcycle in the history of motorcycles to have an automatic ride height adjusters that lowers the motorcycle 2 inches when you come to a complete stop... Only after to automatically raise back up to the height where you had said it to take advantage of the long travel suspension for serious off-road riding and a highway top speed of 135 plus that's just so happens to be the exact top-end speed that was of my Honda Africa twin that if you want to really be surprised take a Honda Africa twin and go down your favorite trail with it off road or just do some back dirt road cruising and try some of the stunts you'll see in Honda commercials made for TV and I don't believe you're going to be able to do what's the TV commercials suggest... As I tried every setting with the ABS on or off traction control on or off lean angle control on or off and went through four different types of tires I have full Motocross in knobbies dual sport tires Enduro tires dual sport tires

    90mph...look at the state of the crumby track! ...Hell!

    • @donniebaker5984
      @donniebaker5984 4 роки тому +1

      The crumby track you called it was the public highways here in the midwest of central indiana as back in 1919 there were not many paved roads at all but more traffic than most as the cross roads of america existed here were us hwy 40 connected new york to L.A. east to west coast to coast crossed by us hwy 41 north to south canada to miame ..in terre haute indiana that is today 7th and wabash ...we are the crossroads of america and the racing capital of the world as 45 minutes east of terre haute is indy raceway park and from the terre haute action track of u.s.a.c. sprints and world of winged outlaws to Lincolin Park dirt track alcohol burning Modified late model stock cars to Putman Park 1.5 mile paved road course with a 0.5 mile straight away into a 90 degree right hand turn #1 of ten total with turn # 10 an off camber right hand 100 + mph back on to the 1/2 mile top end straight to indy raceway park home of the u.s. nationals then to speedway indy home of the biggest most famous longest running race ever of the world the "indy 500 mile race of 200 lapes around a 2.5 mile paved oval with 4 left hand turns and then there is Paragon where guys like Steve Kenser champion world of outlaw and Tony Steward got their outlaw wings and the mid-west racing goes one to a place in ohio called Eldora speedway home of the Eldora world 100 dirt track that pays $100,000 bucks to win . Today owned and operated by Tony Steward and takes a car that cost the same to build as the prize and same price to build a Daytona NASCAR anything and everything in automotive history was invented by or evolved from us hoosier hillbillies first as the rest of the world has only copied everything you see today from hoosier racing teams of indianapolis ...like the offys 1st built by the miller racing team of indy of the fastest cars in there day through the 1920s a 1.5L double over head cam 4 valve per cylinder 4 cylinder inline with front wheel drive as the miller team dubbed the "offy" after the team's mechinest fred offenhauser .after 10 straight years of winning the indy 500 , miller was ask to sell out by the hulman's which meant to say to give someone else a chance to win ..in around 1927 at an event in europe miller sold two offy powered cars to a Frenchman who began building a car company in france ..this frenchman's last name was Bugatti ..as in Bugatti Veyron of today 8.0L V16 thst is a modular engine of four DOHC 4V offy's on one V16 modular engine block with the whole world bragging how creative the french are of a car like the Bugatti ..even jay leno of you tubes jay leno's garage and Jeromy Clarkson top gear a british exotic car show , but neither one know us hoosier very well as we made everything they ever had , owned or raced as we done it first ..everyone else only have copies of the last
