Dogs that bark only when there is an actual stranger at the door. I started my life pretty early with animals but they were mainly wild Animals, In 1975 when I was about 10 or nearer to 11 years old our family moved next door to Yarrawonga Zoo near Darwin were my mother ran a large Boarding Kennel for Dogs and Cats, I had one pet though more a partner being my Horse that I was learning to play Polo Cross on . My Dad always being a bit wild from living in Arnhem Land and Groote Eylandt ( An Island ) and was a 1960s / 70s Steve Irwin Type he decided to go back to Animal conservation and Breeding by catching any type of animals needed by the NT Government and to supply EVERY type of animal needed by Yarrawonga Zoo,. Man I love the Vaquita so much I’ve been trying to educate more people about it because it is very unknown especially up north but what an amazing video 👍 thank you.
The vaquita is amazing! What seems silly to me is the habitat range is so small it seems so easy to do something like just ban human activities near that area. And provide other jobs for the fisherman.
Forrest thank you for all you do for conservation. How many people would love to see an Autobiography by Forrest about how he grew up in South Africa, and how it made him the conservationist he is today? 🖐🖐🖐
I've been watching Forrest for long, and I love the Extinct Or Alive series. It brings hope to many animals, and it what inspired me to become addicted to animal knowledge, as there is so much we don't know about animals, and so many that are nearly extinct due to human errors. Your show is by far my favorite series to watch, because of the passion you put into them.

I absolutely love your passion for animals. You remind me of Steve Irwin in your passion and knowledge. Obviously no one can ever replace the great Steve Irwin but I see his passion in you and it’s awesome. My wife and I love all of your content whether it be TV shows or UA-cam or whatever. Keep it up brother.
"Decimate" is a very poor description of what happened on Lord Howe Island. Annihilation is much more accurate...extinction is more accurate. "Decimate" doesn't mean complete annihilation, which is how you're using it, it originally only meant 10% specifically, because it's the name of a Roman punishment, where they would kill 10% of a group that needed punishment. But the way it's currently used still means less than total destruction.
It originally ment 10 percent now it means the large majority. Many words we use have a different historical meaning or reference. You’re not smarter than anyone you’re just being annoying over correcting somthing he will never so or care about.
The headline and the point of the video leads you to put two and two together. Even more so with everything else said. Sure better words can be used but that can always be the case when talking about many things.
Forrest we need more regular content outta you! Wish I could have a short video everyday! We all know you got enough animal knowledge to produce at least a short film every day
For the Veito - Does anyone find it strange that conservationists are giving millions for conservation efforts, and it's always put towards breeding the Veito, even though it has never worked? Like, that plan obviously won't work because the locals need to overfishing to survive. Soooo... give the locals some money instead, right? It's not the best solution, but if it stops overfishing, then surely it's worth it...?

Forrest is a well rounded biologist. He acknowledges that illegal gill nets are the source of Vaquita population reduction, but he also acknowledges that it's not realistic to completely ban fishing altogether to solve the problem because many individuals livelihood depend on legal fishing in that region. It's hard to still find people in this field of interest today that are like Forrest.

Your passion for wildlife conservation is truly inspiring man. You’re one of my heroes.
I was a marine mammal vet tech with the Navy Mammal Program and learned about the Vaquita. The veteran marine biologist I was working for basically wrote that "the species is consider to dumb to survive".
OMG !! I CAN'T BELIEVE I FOUND HIM AGAIN!! I love this man & i loved his show " Extinct or Alive ? " His grandfather discovered & identified , a primeval ocean fish called a
Coleacanth" ( sic ) a lobe-finned
fish, appearing in fossil records dating back millions of years.
I would definitely watch a movie about a cartel boss buying up a close to extinct species of bird and saving them.
Hey bro, if all cartels saved a near extinct animal, I'd almost be inclined to support them. I'm not sure why that makes sense, but it would truly be a yin and yan moment. It'd be very confusing, too. Would make for great movies.
@danielvermeer3363 "we support the non extinction of this bird but we also don't want you to know we murder people"
I started watching Extinct or Alive in 2019, and as the series progressed I grew to love your work with the saola and fernandina island tortoise. It was just so inspiring and I hope you can continue your incredible work. ❤️
You truly brighten my day with your amazing videos of the unique and excellent creatures of our Earth.
Forrest - you're a real one sir.
Thank you for your commitment to wild life!
Stay blessed!
Forrest thank you for all you do for conservation. How many people would love to see an Autobiography by Forrest about how he grew up in South Africa, and how it made him the conservationist he is today? 🖐🖐🖐
Not yet. Sooooo much more to add! *At least* 30 more years of incredible stories to come.
Forrest is the new age GOAT of animal education and conservation! I would LOVE to fish and learn from him! Thanks for all you do!!!
Extinct or alive is honestly this generations crocodile hunter forest do an amazing job of capturing wildlife and giving accurate information for all ages to learn
21:29 what scares me is.. what if removing her from this habitat means there’s no more females to breed in nature? Like if she was there, we’d have to believe there’s a chance there’s at least one male around.
Yeah maybe but we still don’t know but I like your idea
I love the preservation efforts for these animals!
I really hope all of these animals can bounce back every species of living creature deserves a chance they are all wonderful in their own way.
I was just done watching you in want of the episode extinct or alive, and its one of the best tv shows I watch ❤️🔥
Forrest! Huge fan, followed you for years now. From looking back at your appearance on Disney channels survival show to you're docu-series! amazing.
If the capybaras are extinct, I will die with them
We wouldn't care, we'd just go on with our day tbh and of course, chill
i would to❤
Forrest, my man!
Forest, if you’re in Florida in October, I would love to come help you!
That’s true, to verify

All the way from the UK very big fan of your channels, you are changing the world, you should truly be proud to achieve your dreams ❤
I love your channel so much it’s such a interesting and educational style that makes me want to learn! Thank you Forest

I just have to say I respect Forrest Galante! He is my idol! I've always wanted to go on adventures to save animals from extinction and learn from experience!
I just discovered your channel today! You are awesome! I really felt the passion for animals and on your mission.
You should watch his old to show! Extinct or alive it used to be on animal planet and discovery, Good show
FG is easily the best guest ever on the JRE podcast!!! need to get back on there again asap!!! pleez!!!!!
What a good video. You can tell someone knows what they're talking about by the way they articulate and put the passion on the content. Love this sh!
I found out about this youtube channel a few weeks ago, but i have been watching his show for years and this video made the connection. But, this man is amazing and what he's doing is amazing!
This guy is amazing! Forrest, you should have a show on Animal Planet or Nat Geo! These ch. Dropping the ball!!!! You are amazing. We miss you and all your knowledgeable info! We want shows like your producing on U-tube. Nobody wants the crazy stuff they have on there now!
If the dolphin or tortoise goes extinct, I’m gonna cry and hide in my room for two years
I don’t think I’ve ever went from smiling, then tearing up, then being furious, then back to smiling and repeating the whole thing this much while watching a UA-cam video. Lol
Me and my father would love to come spearfishing with you. We have always wanted to do that but we just haven’t had time too. It would be the highlight of our life to come and do this with you. I love everything you do Forrest I support you 100%❤
As an Australian that grew up watching and loving Steve Irwin, I'm incredibly grateful for what Forrest does and am kind of saddened that Steve Irwin isn't alive today because i believe that Forrest and Steve together would of been able to really change the world together in terms of wildlife conservation
I really enjoy watching these vids there so interesting... I love animals and seeing that people are trying to bring them back from being endangered or extinct is amazing
- 19:01 I'd love to join you to do that. I saw your other videos. That would be awesome. Again, I live on the east coast.
Love watching your vids! I am only 13 and I have already decided that I want to go into a profession that helps animals. Keep on doing what you do!
Extinct or alive is literally my favorite show ever and I just discovered your UA-cam channel this year
Bow fishing with you sounds like an absolute blast!
You're an absolute legend, I hope you keep on raising awareness for those beautiful creatures
Awesome video!! I really hope they’re able to find a mate for Fern at some point…save the Fernandina Tortoise!! ❤
Thank you for what you do Forrest. Its so important to inform people about these endangered animals.
I get so pumped watching these videos, and I sincerely hope that enough of us will care enough to solve the problems that continue to affect endangered species around the globe.
I absolutely love this channel, I wish we could buy merch and it would fund your expiditions.. we are all with you!
I first saw Forrest on JWE podcast and then I looked him up and I absolutely love what he’s doing! Love his shows and his efforts of conservation!
thank you for all the animals that you save and the work that you put into the environment. You’re doing a great job and people are listening.
I truly hope the giveaway is still available. Forrest I’ve been following you for years now and you have given me the strength to go back to school to become a marine biologist. I am also a single father and I had to take a couple of years off with school for right now to be able to support and make sure my son has an amazing future. Once I am able to go back to school I will achieve my degree and be able to take my son with me on adventures! I hope it can start with the first adventure being with you! Thank you again! 🙏
Great video, been watching you for a long time. You are the main reason that I am working to become a Herpetologist. Keep up the great work.
absolutely the best guy to learn anything from, i have so much fun watching you and love everything you teach me
Thank you for another interesting and informative video Forrest! Your passion for conservation and saving species from extinction is contagious!
Discovered this amazing man on Animal Planet, and he just recently appeared in my UA-cam recommended. I’ll be playing catchup for awhile.😁
You are my hero Forrest . Your passion is infectious. It would be amazing to spend the day with you 🎣
Woodsman here in Illinois loves your show. I've been watching you since you went on Naked & afraid with a snorkle mask as your survival tool. I said to mysel I'd go bow fishing with that guy!
Forrest gotta say, you're living my dream, I always dream of going out looking for endangered species or searching for the extinct. Keep up the great work
Such a intriguing video I love your work Forrest, I’m all the way in Australia 🇦🇺 but liked commented and subscribed to go in the Draw, would be a once in a life time experience fingers crossed 🤞 keep up the great work mate, I want to get on board with a conservation organisation, recently pondering about ideas on road barriers to help with our native wombats here in Australia so much roadkill it’s unbelievable
Imagine chilling on your own for years on an island to have a group of men pick you up and start cheering 😂
I remember watching the episode where u found that tortoise!!!!! I was celebrating in my living room, along with all of you ☺️. You always made each find so exciting!! I loved that show and was happy to see u on UA-cam….. We’ve gotta get you back on tv with your own show 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Absolutely love your work in the protection and preservation of all wildlife but especially those with dwindling habitats and negative human intervetion. Please continue to spread awareness and educate the rest of the world with your contegious love of the natural world!
This is a great video, with great advice and information on very close to extinction animals!! Thanks bro keep up the great work!!
Found Forrest through the joe Rogan show and cannot get enough. I grew up idolizing steve Irwin and Jeff Corwin, this guy is now up there with the best! Would love to join you in Illinois! New sub!
Like, commented, and subscribed. Let’s do this Forest, I’m ready to go bow fishing
This guy is so amazing and his love for animals is just amazing his love for animals is so wonderful
Forrest, you are doing what I can only dream of doing one day, keep saving the world one animal at a time man!
I have now become hooked! Started with the video with the possible photos of my Thylacine. It's kinda sad that there are so few, I guess that means they will go extinct because there wouldn't be a big enough population to sustain them? Or maybe they are just really good at hiding. You have earned another sub, and my kids will probably enjoy this channel too, they are really into all kinds of animals , extict or not.
