Well said! I’m publishing a weekly UA-cam video on episodes from the life of Don Bosco, entitled ST JOHN BOSCO by JOE ZAMMIT. In this series I’m narrating events and miracles from the splendid life of Don Bosco. St John Bosco used to perform a miracle almost every day, through the intercession of Mary Help of Christians. From the lives of saints we can learn how to love God more and draw closer to him. Thank you.
This is why the deuterocanonical books are so important. How can any christian say they have the fullness of God’s word and not read from a bible with all the texts? Maccabees, here, helps to shed light on not just the destruction of the temple in the 6th century B.C. It also helps us connect to Revelation as well and where the new ark will be revealed, as Jeremiah had prophesied.
The apocrypha might have some value historically but they are not part of the canonical scriptures. We know a lot about the destruction of the temple and the Babylonian captivity from scripture. Don't need Maccabees for that.
@@ContendingEarnestly I’ll place my faith in what the church declared canonical during the ecumenical councils of the late 4th and early 5th centuries, in which the canon of scripture was discussed and rendered closed. Martin Luther’s decision to not include the apocrypha is arbitrary, and based on his personal interpretation of scripture. Where does one man derive this authority?
@@frankkienle8926 Virtually nothing is right here. First those late 4th century councils were all provincial or local, not ecumenical. So nothing was binding. And if the canon was 'rendered closed', why did Jerome declare your apocryphal books, apocryphal? And remember Jerome was at Rome 382. If he had heard of a closed canon why did he over a decade later blow right through that decision and say what the pope declared canonical he said wasn't? Can you answer that? Either Jerome is a really bad catholic or there was no binding canon. And Hefele, one of your roman catholic bishops of the 19th C, wrote 5 volumes called A History of the Councils of the Church. Vol 2 starting on pp 378 he gives details of Rome 382 and doesn't mention a canon of scripture once. And, trent session 4 gave the first dogmatic declaration of the canon by tying an anathema to it. There was no binding, dogmatic canon in your church for 1500 years. Secondly, Luther translated the apocrypha in his bible. When it was completed in 1534 it had every book any catholic bible has today; 27 in the new, 46 in the o.t. He didn't cut anything out.
@@ContendingEarnestly First off, I misspoke in referring to those early councils as being ecumenical. Councils are binding if the pope approves them, not just by them merely being ecumenical. The councils/synods at Rome, Hippo, and Carthage all addressed the canon of scripture as part of its gathering, among other things. The fact that they were not ecumenical, or provincial in nature doesn’t detract in the least from their importance. Provincial matters specifically dealt with issues within a particular see. Scripture is for the edification of all christianity, hardly a local matter. Secondly, it was at the council of Rome in 382 that Pope Damasus asked Jerome to begin translating the Septuagint into the latin vulgate. Despite Jerome being against the apocrypha, he still began to translate the greek into latin which speaks to the unity of the church and the importance of the papacy. Over the course of the next councils/synods, ending in 419 at Hippo, the canon of scripture was decided upon. It included the apocrypha. The church decided what the canon would be, not Jerome. Lastly, to say the significance of the apocrypha only became relevant at Trent belies a common aspect of the church that those outside of her, don’t want to believe in. And that is tradition. Your own statement regarding Luther including the apocrypha in his first bible publications speaks to this. It was only after years of protesting the church that scripture had to be made to fit his theology. If you look at what made Luther so upset with the church in his time, you’ll see those admonitions in the apocrypha.
@@frankkienle8926 *The fact that they were not ecumenical, or provincial in nature doesn’t detract in the least from their importance.* It certainly does if youre going to bind the entire church to it. *Provincial matters specifically dealt with issues within a particular see. Scripture is for the edification of all christianity, hardly a local matter.* Again if its a local council it has zero binding authority on the other churches. Secondly, many ecf's had lists of the books of the bible that were every bit as accepted as those from hippo or carthage. Athanasius is just one. The Palestinian canon didn't have the apocrypha in it. And it was accepted. *Secondly, it was at the council of Rome in 382 that Pope Damasus asked Jerome to begin translating the Septuagint into the latin vulgate.* I'm guessing you haven't read Jerome on this huh? With respect to the o.t. including the apocrypha he translated the hebrew into latin. If you have read his Prefaces you'd know this. Which i encourage you to do. Its free. *Despite Jerome being against the apocrypha, he still began to translate the greek into latin which speaks to the unity of the church and the importance of the papacy.* Hebrew into latin. And if unity was such a big thing on his mind why did he go against the pope (if your version is correct) and say those apocryphal books are NOT in the canon? And he did it repeatedly. What youre saying doesn't line up with what he actually did. *Over the course of the next councils/synods, ending in 419 at Hippo* You mean carthage right? The fifth council of carthage was in 419. *the canon of scripture was decided upon. It included the apocrypha.* It wasn't decided in 419 if it was for the first time dogmatically declared at Trent in 1546 right? Trent declared an anathema for the canon not Carthage. *Lastly, to say the significance of the apocrypha only became relevant at Trent belies a common aspect of the church that those outside of her, don’t want to believe in. And that is tradition.* I never said the apocrypha was insignificant, just not canonical. Jerome said if you want to read them go ahead but not for doctrine. And there is no such thing as sacred tradition, since i'm sure thats where youre going. *Your own statement regarding Luther including the apocrypha in his first bible publications speaks to this. It was only after years of protesting the church that scripture had to be made to fit his theology. He translated it but you say he was upset and didn't like it but he translated it anyway....?? Huh? So a guy hates the church, hates the books that disagrees with his theology but is nice enough to spend who knows how long actually translating it into another language? Does that make any sense to you?

This 14-15 years old woman is not just the new Ark of the Covenant, and GOD’s Holy Mother. She is also the new Tabernacle. She is our Holy Queen, and Holy Mother. Jesus gave his own Mother to humanity. I wish more people understood the importance of Our Blessed Mother in our salvation. She is co-redeemer in GOD’s plan for our salvation. We need to pray for our heretical Protestant brothers and sisters who deny the true church and deny the truths of The Church. We need tp pray for these lost children of GOD to come back home. Do you not have eyes to read? Why did he omit verse 9 and 14? Because if je included them you would see that it couldn't have been Mary! Mary became pregnant when Elizabeth was six months pregnant. This woman in heaven is pregnant 2,000 years before Jesus was born. How do we know This timeline? Because she is pregnant in heaven before Satan was cast down. Then when she is set down on earth she is given giant eagle wings to fly like a superhero. Have you read a single verse in the gospels telling us of her wings? Probably not because from the creation of the first Christian church thru Revelation not a single Apostle, or writer of any book teach about Mary, preach about Mary, even mentioned her by name one time! She had no role in the church. She like John the Baptist pointed us to Jesus, they never wanted any attention for themselves. Jesus never let anyone focus on Mary. If you read the bible from Pentecost til Revelation 20 you would not know Mary even existed! To pray to Mary is to deny the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us when we pray because we dont know how to pray. When you give to Mary you are taking from God! Return to Jesus, to God!
@@glennherron9499amen indeed. When I watched this video it caused me great concern and sadness that Catholics are being taught such heretical teachings. Bad exegesis of scripture here, even though he makes it sound believable, and several assumptions (even acknowledged by the speaker when you listen carefully to him) which lead you into seriously bad theological & doctrinal issues regarding Mary being a queen of heaven and the ark etc. I don't doubt the heart and intent of Catholics but they are so seriously deceived. Sola scriptura.
Thank You Dr Pitre.Love watching your videos over here in UK.Of course all the theology behind the Assumption is true and valid but there is another reason for the Assumption I believe.Quite simply Jesus wanted to be with his Mother in heaven.Just as when Jesus was born Mary greeted him with a kiss so I believe Jesus greeted his mother with a kiss when her Assumption was complete.
@po18guy You catholic will go to reach for any thing you can fabricate stories about Mary , Christ`s birth was not a normal birth , He did not have her DNA or her blood , she was a sinner with the blood of Adam in her and she died like all sinners , she was a woman , a vessel that God used to bring his son in to the world Gal. 4 : 4 ; yes she was blessed but so are all who do the will of the father Luke 11 : 28 ; which mean all saved believers are blessed as much as Mary . Mary has no part of Christ`s deity . she was a woman who was a virgin , God used to bring his son into the world to save sinners . that was her mission ,nothing else . she has nothing to do with our relation ship with Christ or with saved believers worshiping God . she is not mentioned after Acts 1 : 14 ; and she is never mentioned in the letters to the Churches . she is dead with her spirit in heaven with all other spirit , there is not one above the other . She fulfilled he obligation as a married woman by bring other sons and daughter in to the world . again she had nothing to do with the Church which is the body of Christ made up of saved believers . she is a member like all saved believers. nothing else , she is dead with her spirit in heaven and she has no authority there or on earth . prove me wrong by scriptures ,
I wish he provided a more detailed exegesis on this passage. For example there are several details in the passage that dont seem to apply to Mary. For example the woman being given two wings, and the Earth helping her, etc. None of this stuff happened to Mary. GK Beale for instance argues very convincingly that the "woman" is Israel/The Church and explains: "1 After the temple scene of 11:19, John sees a great sign which appeared in heaven. He first sees a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. Vv. 2-6 reveal that this woman is a picture of the faithful community, which existed both before and after the coming of Christ. This identification is based on the OT precedent, where sun, moon, and eleven stars metaphorically represent Jacob, his wife, and eleven of the tribes of Israel (Gen. 37:9), who bow down to Joseph, representing the twelfth tribe. Song of Solomon 6:10 was used in later Jewish literature to describe Israel in terms of the sun, the moon, and the stars, and restored Israel (which in Revelation is identified as the church) is described similarly in Isa. 60:19-20. In fact, in Isaiah a woman often represents the picture of restored Israel (e.g., 52:2; 54:1-6; 61:10; 62:1-5), and Isa. 62:3, 5 prophesies that restored Israel will be like a bride wearing a crown. The brightness of the woman’s appearance (clothed with the sun) reflects the same brightness in the face of Christ (1:16). Her glory is the reflected glory of Christ. Just as the sun, moon, and stars appear far from earth and immune from destruction by any earthly force, so also true Israel of the OT and NT epochs is ultimately indestructible on earth because ultimate identity is in heaven (mention of Michael, Israel’s heavenly representative and protector [Dan. 12:1], in vv. 7-8 points further to this). That the woman represents both the old and new covenant communities becomes even clearer in vv. 11-17, where her seed or offspring is not only Christ but also the entire community of His followers. The crown on her head is best defined from within Revelation itself. It represents the saints’ share in Christ’s kingship and the reward which the true people of God throughout the ages receive for their victory over opposition to their faith (i.e., over persecution, temptations to compromise, and deception; so 2:10; 3:11; 4:4, 10; cf. 14:14). The stellar brightness of her appearance reflects the powerful and pure sunlight arising from God’s and Christ’s glorious image (as in 1:16; 10:1; 21:23; 22:5). 2 The woman is in labor and in pain to give birth. Catholic commentators have written an immense amount of literature arguing that the heavenly woman symbolizes Mary, the mother of Jesus. Though the mother of Jesus may be secondarily in mind, the primary focus is not on an individual but on the community of faith, within which the messianic line ultimately yielded a kingly offspring. This is evident, not only from the discussion of v. 1, but also from observing in the remainder of the chapter that the woman is persecuted, flees into the desert, and has other offspring than just the Messiah, offspring who are described as faithful Christians. The woman’s birth-pangs refer to the persecution of the covenant community and the messianic line during OT times and especially the intertestamental period leading up to Christ’s birth. The idea of persecution is expressed in the phrase in pain (literally “being tormented”), since the verb (Greek basanizō) is used in the NT of the suffering of punishment, trial, and persecution (Matt. 8:29; Mark 5:7; 6:48; Luke 8:28; 2 Pet. 2:8). The suggestion is that the woman is being tormented and suffering as she attempts to give birth, which fits with a picture of the faithful Jewish community being persecuted in the period leading up to the birth of Christ. It was a trial to continue to wait for the great deliverance which the Messiah would finally bring at His coming (cf. Luke 2:25-38). In John 16:19-22, Christ compares the grief of His disciples over His impending death to a woman about to give birth who “has sorrow” and is about to bear a child. There, in line with our view of Rev. 12:2, the disciples represent the mother, the messianic community, in the midst of which the Christ was born in resurrection, and which would later present the resurrected Christ to the world. In Rev. 12:2 it is, however, Christ’s first birth that is in mind and not this later resurrection birth." - Revelation, a Shorter Commentary, GK Beale, 2015
Hello dr Pitre, good bible study as always. But I know a priest who says the woman clothed in the sun is not Mary because the woman in the vision cried in pain but that Mary didn’t give birth in pain. What should I think about this?
The birth pain mentioned in this passage is related to the pain she suffered when Jesus was crucified. Keep in mind that Revelation says that after her birth pains, her child is caught up to Heaven. Jesus was not caught up to Heaven right after he was born. He was caught up to Heaven in the ascension, following the crucifixion and resurrection.
Galatians 4:19. Paul uses birthpains as an expression of great pain. So you could say here to in revelation it's not literal birth pains but an expression of great pain. Now what is that great pain. I would suggest one possibility is the 7 sorrows of Mary.
Uh, the woman in Revelation 12 isnt Mary because Mary became pregnant when Elizabeth was six months pregnant. This woman is pregnant in heaven 2,000 years before Jesus was born. How do we know this timeline? Because the verse he skipped told us she was pregnant in heaven before Satan was cast down. Then a few verses later, right after he stopped the woman was given giant eagle wings to fly like a superhero. From Pentecost through Revelation no Apostle, no writer of any book taught about Mary, preached about Mary, even mentioned her by name a single time! She had no role in the church. The Woman of the Apocalypse (or woman clothed with the sun), is a figure described in Chapter 12 of the Book of Revelation. 853 Mother of Salvation: Just as if a miracle has taken place, the false prophet will seem to rise from the dead Thursday, July 25th, 2013 @ 18:52 My child, it is important my children do not lose courage when faced with the hurt they will have to face, as my Son’s Church will be cast into the wilderness of the desert. I am the Woman in the Book of Revelation, clothed with the sun, who gave birth to the Child. The Child is Jesus. The Mystical Body of my Son, Jesus, is His Church on Earth. My Son’s Church is being stolen and soon His Body will no longer be present therein. This desolation will tear the hearts of those, who follow the Teachings of my Son, in two. Those, who will have nowhere to turn, will find themselves cast out of the buildings which have, up to now, housed the Holy Eucharist. But, while they will have been thrown out, with little mercy shown to them, they will be filled with the Holy Spirit. This means that they will be guided and will lead fiercely the Remnant Army, which is made up of those who are loyal to God. Others, blind to the Truth, will follow the false prophet into disarray. Their hearts will be deceived, and soon, when the false prophet will be seen to be at death’s door, they will sob. But then, just as if a miracle has taken place, the false prophet will seem to rise from the dead. They will say that he is blessed with great, supernatural powers from Heaven and they will fall flat on their faces before him in adoration. He will be loved and adored by those who cannot see. Soon the antichrist will appear and his rise to fame will start in Jerusalem. Once he appears in public, everything in my Son’s Church will change, quickly. The new rules will be introduced. New relics, changes in the garments worn by priests and many new regulations will be enforced. At first, people will say that all these changes stem from a need to be humble. And, while these abominations enter the Christian churches, the persecution will begin. Dare to object to these Satanic rituals and you will be deemed a heretic - a troublemaker. Many cardinals, bishops, priests, nuns and ordinary people will be excommunicated, if they do not follow the new rules or adore the false prophet. At this stage you must seek out refuges, which will have been created, so that you can worship my Son, Jesus Christ, in peace. Priests must continue to administer the Sacraments and provide my children with the Most Holy Eucharist. You must never give in to the deceit, which you will be asked to take part in. Those who do will lose their souls to the evil one. Your beloved Mother Mother of Salvation
Many interpret this (in a literal sense) as a reference to the escape of Jewish Christians from Jerusalem when they fled to Pella. During the Roman conquest of Jerusalem in A.D. 70, mass numbers of Jews died while many Christians of Jerusalem fled safely to the Transjordan town of Pella.
I'm not a Bible scholar but I understand that it will take place in earth and heaven at the same time, the woman, the Messiah reborn and the devil as heavenly and physical beings. Because Messiah will be born and directly afterwards assumed to God. But also will there be a big sign in heaven showing all this to the whole world at the same time. It will happen in heaven and on earth simultaneously, first in heaven then on earth. The devil gets cast out from heaven to earth and the woman also flees to a wilderness where she is nourished. No need to eat and drink in heaven so the wilderness must be on earth. I would also like to know what Dr. Pitre says about this.

Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant because she carried the Lord God Jesus in the NT, The Manna/Bread of heaven; The Stone Tablets/Living Word; Aaron's Staff/High Priest of the New Testament. MARY THE ARK AS REVEALED IN MARY'S VISIT TO ELIZABETH (In Scriptures both OT & NT): - GOLDEN BOX: ARK OF THE OLD COVENANT (OT) Traveled to House of Obed-Edom in the hill country of Judea (2 SAM 6:1-11) - MARY: ARK OF THE NEW COVENANT (NT) Traveled to house of Elizabeth and Zecharia in the hill country of Judea (Lk 1:39) - GOLDEN BOX: ARK OF THE OLD COVENANT (OT) Dressed as a priest, David danced and leapt in front of the Ark (2 Sam 6:14) - MARY: ARK OF THE NEW COVENANT (NT) John the Baptist of priestly lineage leapt in his mother's womb at the approach of Mary (Lk 1:41) - GOLDEN BOX: ARK OF THE OLD COVENANT (OT) David asks "Who am I that the Ark of my Lord should come to me!" Interestingly, Jews believe in this too. If you look to the Tarot cards (which were developed by the Jewish people while they were being persecuted by the Romans, in order to practice their faith inconspicuously), look to the 2nd card of the major Arcana: The High Priestess. A woman who resembles Mary in the traditional sense. She has a horned diadem on her head, resembling cow horns and a full moon orb. She is cloaked in blue and white robes, which cascade down like water to her feet where her feet rest on an upsidedown crescent moon, in her hand sits the scroll of the Torah and a cross on her chest representing balance between the 4 realms of Jehovah. She sits between the pillars of the temple of Solomon, and behind her is a veil with palm leaves (the divine masculine) and pomegranate (the divine feminine) behind her. This means the Jewish Messiah was always meant to be a woman, who keeps to the moral and ethical code of the Torah and brings balance to humanity. She is the Ark of the covenant.
Well, no, the Jews do not believe this, as they would hold Mary, the mother of Jesus, to absolutely no esteem, considering they reject the very idea that Jesus was/is the Messiah. Also, there is no scriptural basis to support your contention that the messiah was/is female...literally none. If so, can you cite the chapters and verses from the Old Testament that run counter to both the Jewish and Christian conceptions of the messiah? What you wrote sounds like a hodge podging together of misinterpreted Biblical imagery, occultism and New Age spiritual practices and concepts. In other words, it's just theologically, historically and factually inaccurate.
Also, you stated that the Jews invented tarot cards while being persecuted by the Romans. Can you provide a credible source from a reputable historian or scholar to substantiate this claim? Tarot cards seem to have an ambiguous origin and first appeared in Europe in the 14th century...long after the fall of The Roman Empire.
I'm not disagreeing with what is being taught here but I do have a question 🤔 Mary was the ark for 9 months because Jesus was in her womb for 9 months give or take , does Mary still remain to be the ark even after Jesus was born and grew into an adult?
All women carry the dna of their children until they die. So yes, she was the fulfillment of the Arc and always will be.Jesus will always be the crucified one even though he’s no longer on the cross
She will forever be "The Ark of the Covenant" because in her blessed body she carried God Himself. Her blessedness does not stop, it is innate for all eternity. God bless.
It's important to remember that the OT is the NT concealed and the NT is the OT revealed. The OT 'typologies' were a mere shadow of what God had planned to be done through Jesus. If you are trying to compare Mary to the OT wooden ARK then you are going backwards. It would be like comparing Jesus to the contents of the Ark as if the contents were the more important thing. Just as the OT Ark would still hold religious value even when God's presence is not directly in it; so much more would Mary's role and place of Honor that God has granted Her is to be respected even after the God-Child had left Her womb. Just as Jesus told the disciples, the places of honor at His left and right were the Father's to grant. Our theology holds that outside the Trinity, the highest place of honor has been granted to Mary; His Mother. This is not something to take lightly.
OR.... you can simply read and realize that the woman clothed in the sun is the nation of Israel, which gave birth to the Messiah, and in the end days must flee to the wilderness 3.5 years were she (the Jews) will be miraculously protected by God from the AntiChrist.
Woman means FEMALE PERSON, not a country/kingdom/nation that got destroyed 2000 years ago together with their temple of Jerusalem for rejecting the Son of God Lord Jesus! How can a kingdom called i_srael soaked in wickedness and evil birthed The Son of God Lord Jesus? First and foremost, the woman referred to REV 12 is Mary because she is the woman who birthed The Lord God Jesus Messiah King, she is the first believer of Jesus (disciple), without her consent, there is no salvation in this world because Jesus would not have been conceived in his mother's womb. 2ND, REV 12 is a clear description of the battle between the woman who brought forth The Messiah King Jesus, The Seed (Mary) and the dragon (devil) by John by witnessing Mary as the Ark of the Covenant of the NT (REV 11:19) revealing itself as the Queen Mother of heaven (crowned with 12 stars) battling the dragon in REV 12 in the end times. This war was foreshadowed in the Old Testament in GEN 3:15 when God gave enmity between the woman (Mary) and the serpent (devil) meaning they are in perpetual battle eternally because Mary is the mother of the Lord God, the NT Gebirah, all mothers of the Davidic kings of Israel were rightfully called "Queen Mothers". The queenship in heaven is in PSALM 45:9 SIRACH 24. This is why Mary is the queen crowned with 12 stars seen by John in Revelation 12. Mary is the WOMAN of Revelation because she was always addressed as a woman / lady by his Son Jesus (JOHN 2; JOHN 19-25-29), Gnyai in the original Greek, a title of respect given to her office. @Luca Jesus and Mary were both prophesied in the O.T. and such were revealed in the N.T. - I don't think Jacob was prophesied any role to be realized in the N.T., that's obviously the difference.
ARC OF THE COVENANT: Spelling can make a world of difference. Joan of Arc is the woman of Revelation 12 per my understanding. France is her son. "Joan of Arc is the GLORY of France and the Universal Church, and her France is the Tribe of Judah of the New Covenant." -- Pope Saint Pius X, paraphrased. Joan is the Holy Spirit incarnate in human flesh. She dwells in the Outer Courtyard in the heavenly tabernacle with Mary Magdalene. Both are High Priestesses unto Jesus who dwells in the Holy Place. Mary Magdalene is represented by the brazen LAVER and Joan is represented by the brazen ALTAR OF BURNT OFFERINGS/SACRIFICE. Joan is conjoined at the hip to Saint Michael, so to speak. Joan is the final LORD's goat atonement sacrifice for sin of Yom Kippur. CHURCH MILITANT VIDEO SHORT: ua-cam.com/users/shortsdo0AdPKRuEk
I have no issue of Mary as the Mother of Jesus, who calls himself the Son of God. I have a bit of an issue with calling her the Mother of God since God the Father (Jehovah) is Supreme, God above all, and actually created Mary to be, among other things, the Mother of His Son. I think one of the things which gives Protestants pause is the sense that the wording, "Mother of God" sounds like you believe she came before God (the Father, the Sovereign God, the Creator).
If you deny that Mary is the mother of God, you effectively deny His divinity, the heresy of Nestorianism! Mary gave birth to Jesus who had two natures!
The woman clothed with the sun is a reference to Israel as a nation. It has absolutely nothing to do with Mary. Talk about twisting the scriptures!!!!!
It does refer to Israel... AND to the Blessed Virgin. (We're a 'both/and' Church.) But you want to hear something funny? I was in a Baptist Bible study group a while back, and myself and one Baptist were discussing this. A Baptist deacon who was half listening and half reading stopped us, looked at me, and asked how can this mean anything except that it is about Mary? I smiled recognizing that he had lost the battle lines, and pointed to the guy with him I was talking, he sheepishly explained Baptist tradition this verse from Revelation means something other than how it reads. So please consider that when you talk about twisting scripture.
The problem is the absolute obsession with Mary. It IS JESUS WE NEED TO FOCUS ON. MARY NEEDED FORGIVENESS OF SINS LIKE ANYONE ELSE. "THOU SHALT NOT HAVE ANY OTHER GODS BEFORE ME".
Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant, the woman of revelation, the NT Gebirah-Queen mother/Daughter of Zion that is why we pray for her intercession/protection because she leads you to the real Jesus of the Trinity not protestant fake zi00nist Jesus. Intercessory prayers are instructed by St. Paul in 1 TIMOTHY 2:1. What does EPHESIANS 6:18 says? MAKING SUPPLICATION FOR ALL THE SAINTS ! PHILIPPIANS 4:21 Salute ye every saint in Christ Jesus. Saints and angels in heaven interceding for us in REVELATION 4, 5, 6, 8. "Mediator" is Christ alone in one sense. As intercessors all members are " mediators". according to Catholicism and Scripture: 1- The Church is the body of Christ 2- There is only one body of Christ, not one on earth and another one in heaven. 3- Death does not separate the members of the body. 4- Christians are bound by the Law of Christ to love and pray for one another.
No, The Woman in Revelations is Israel. St Mary did not go through birth pains as that was the result of sin for the Woman giving birth to natural humans, not the divine. The entire topic of the birth pains in old and NT refer to Israel being restored back again into faith in Messiah which St Paul says brings on the resurrection of the dead.
@@geoffjs To say that is to insult St Mary and Christ himself actually. The Woman is clearly mentioned as not having the testimony of Jesus Christ but her remnants are - ie Christians. So Saying St mary didnt accept the faith is very bad, also saying St Mary had birth pains means she is giving birth to sinful man - which is why women have birth pains, so its saying Christ was born in sin also...just so you know.
Why does it have to be her, though? Why isn't it Jesus within her that is the New Ark of the Covenant?!?! He said he brought the new covenant in HIS blood!
The Ark carried the Lord God (Covenant between God and man). The Ark was created / build, therefore it cannot be the Lord God Jesus. The Ark is the Sanctuary of the Lord.
She fights the devil and all his demons she's on the Earth right now. She's real upset that everybody keeps rebuking her. The Lord's going to come and take her off the Earth and everyone can just figure out it on their own. You can fight the devil on your own.
Wow thats a lot of eisegesis! First the ark is NOT mary, its Jesus. He is our propitiation; Romans 3:25. The word propitiation in the greek means mercy seat. The mercy seat is the lid of the ark of the covenant. He is the ark. Secondly, Rev 12 says he saw the 'sign' of a woman. Not a literal woman. Just like he spoke of the sign of the dragon. Its not a literal dragon because satan is an angel. There is nothing about marys assumption in the bible. Because its a man made doctrine.
Where in the Bible does it explicitly say that the woman is Israel? Don't you have to have biblical support for that contention? Or is this a protestant tradition to interpret it this way?

The queenship in heaven is in PSALM 45:9 SIRACH 24. This is why Mary is the queen crowned with 12 stars seen by John in Revelation 12. Mary is the WOMAN of Revelation because she was always addressed as a woman / lady by his Son Jesus (JOHN 2; JOHN 19-25-29), Gnyai in the original Greek, a title of respect given to her office. And, just by the way. Jesus is the true Ark of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies. Plain and simple. It's all about Jesus.
6:30 Saint Mary is the Ark of the Covenant ? The Ark is described in the Book of Exodus as containing the two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments of the Old Covenant.
@Martin Beck, the Old Testament contains prefiguring of New Testament truths, thus there are many things that are fulfilled in the first century AD that were prophesied and foreshadowed in the history of the Chosen People, Israel. The word "ark" simply means container. The first "ark" carried a man, his family, and two of every living creature that lived on land. It passed through a great flood that prefigured baptism and washed away the sin of the world and brought new life. The second "ark" carried a baby through the flood of the Nile river and brought a savior to God's chosen people by rescuing a doomed infant to be raised in Pharaoh's household to lead the People of God from slavery into freedom. The third ark contained the Commandments, God's word written on stone tablets, the Manna, the miraculous bread that sustained the life of Israel in the wilderness, and the staff of Aaron, the dead stick that bloomed and grew almonds to show that the priestly leadership of Israel rested on Aaron and his sons, giving them exclusive rights to serve at the Tabernacle and to offer sacrifices to expiate the sins of the people. Mary's body carried the Word of God, written not in stone but incarnate in the flesh. Mary's body carried the Bread of Life, not an inanimate material but the living, breathing God-man. Mary's body carried the person who was to carry the office of Aaron as priest and victim, offering himself as the sacrifice to take away the sins of the world. Mary's body carried the child who would step into the Jordan River and sanctify the waters of baptism, the flood that now washes away our slavery to sin and raises us to new life. So, yes, Mary is the New Ark of the New and Everlasting Covenant, not written on tablets of stone, but Jesus Christ alive and active and written on our hearts. As prophesied in the Old Testament, "I will take away your heart of stone, and replace it with a heart of flesh." (Ezekiel 36:26b)

*The fact that they were not ecumenical, or provincial in nature doesn’t detract in the least from their importance.*
It certainly does if youre going to bind the entire church to it.
*Provincial matters specifically dealt with issues within a particular see. Scripture is for the edification of all christianity, hardly a local matter.*
Again if its a local council it has zero binding authority on the other churches. Secondly, many ecf's had lists of the books of the bible that were every bit as accepted as those from hippo or carthage. Athanasius is just one. The Palestinian canon didn't have the apocrypha in it. And it was accepted.
*Secondly, it was at the council of Rome in 382 that Pope Damasus asked Jerome to begin translating the Septuagint into the latin vulgate.*
I'm guessing you haven't read Jerome on this huh? With respect to the o.t. including the apocrypha he translated the hebrew into latin. If you have read his Prefaces you'd know this. Which i encourage you to do. Its free.
*Despite Jerome being against the apocrypha, he still began to translate the greek into latin which speaks to the unity of the church and the importance of the papacy.*
Hebrew into latin. And if unity was such a big thing on his mind why did he go against the pope (if your version is correct) and say those apocryphal books are NOT in the canon? And he did it repeatedly. What youre saying doesn't line up with what he actually did.
*Over the course of the next councils/synods, ending in 419 at Hippo*
You mean carthage right? The fifth council of carthage was in 419.
*the canon of scripture was decided upon. It included the apocrypha.*
It wasn't decided in 419 if it was for the first time dogmatically declared at Trent in 1546 right? Trent declared an anathema for the canon not Carthage.
*Lastly, to say the significance of the apocrypha only became relevant at Trent belies a common aspect of the church that those outside of her, don’t want to believe in. And that is tradition.*
I never said the apocrypha was insignificant, just not canonical. Jerome said if you want to read them go ahead but not for doctrine. And there is no such thing as sacred tradition, since i'm sure thats where youre going.

This makes no sense. He translated it but you say he was upset and didn't like it but he translated it anyway....?? Huh? So a guy hates the church, hates the books that disagrees with his theology but is nice enough to spend who knows how long actually translating it into another language?

@po18guy I believe what you wrote .
@po18guy You catholic will go to reach for any thing you can fabricate stories about Mary , Christ`s birth was not a normal birth , He did not have her DNA or her blood , she was a sinner with the blood of Adam in her and she died like all sinners , she was a woman , a vessel that God used to bring his son in to the world
Gal. 4 : 4 ; yes she was blessed but so are all who do the will of the father Luke 11 : 28 ; which mean all
saved believers are blessed as much as Mary . Mary has no part of Christ`s deity . she was a woman who was a virgin , God used to bring his son into the world to save sinners . that was her mission ,nothing else .
she has nothing to do with our relation ship with Christ or with saved believers worshiping God . she is
not mentioned after Acts 1 : 14 ; and she is never mentioned in the letters to the Churches . she is dead with her spirit in heaven with all other spirit , there is not one above the other . She fulfilled he obligation
as a married woman by bring other sons and daughter in to the world . again she had nothing to do with the Church which is the body of Christ made up of saved believers . she is a member like all saved believers. nothing else , she is dead with her spirit in heaven and she has no authority there or on earth . prove me wrong by scriptures ,
Mary said,'All nations shall call me blessed',and Jesus gave Mary to us as a Mother from the cross.@@donaldcooley897
I always love the insight Dr Pitre about the Bible.
I love bestfriend Mother Mary.
I wish he provided a more detailed exegesis on this passage. For example there are several details in the passage that dont seem to apply to Mary. For example the woman being given two wings, and the Earth helping her, etc. None of this stuff happened to Mary. GK Beale for instance argues very convincingly that the "woman" is Israel/The Church and explains:
"1 After the temple scene of 11:19, John sees a great sign which appeared in heaven.
In Rev. 12:2 it is, however, Christ’s first birth that is in mind and not this later resurrection birth."

She, like John the Baptist, played a role but that was in the past!

Mother of Salvation: Just as if a miracle has taken place, the false prophet will seem to rise from the dead
Thursday, July 25th, 2013 @ 18:52
My child, it is important my children do not lose courage when faced with the hurt they will have to face, as my Son’s Church will be cast into the wilderness of the desert.
Your beloved Mother
Mother of Salvation
Many interpret this (in a literal sense) as a reference to the escape of Jewish Christians from Jerusalem when they fled to Pella. During the Roman conquest of Jerusalem in A.D. 70, mass numbers of Jews died while many Christians of Jerusalem fled safely to the Transjordan town of Pella.
@@DrChaunceyBlevins Very interesting Thankyou

Amazing!! So since Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant and the first and highest member of the Church, having borne God in her body, does the Church share in that “arkness ” in some way since we also bear him in our bodies in the Most Holy Eucharist?
Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant because she carried the Lord God Jesus in the NT, The Manna/Bread of heaven; The Stone Tablets/Living Word; Aaron's Staff/High Priest of the New Testament. MARY THE ARK AS REVEALED IN MARY'S VISIT TO ELIZABETH (In Scriptures both OT & NT):

Mary returns home and eventually ends up in Jerusalem where she presents God enfleshed in the Temple (Lk 1:56; 2:21-22)

Interestingly, Jews believe in this too.
Most definitely. Remember once she was covered by the Holy Spirit and conceived Jesus, the Holy Spirit became her spouse. Beautiful indeed.
Thanks everyone great answers indeed 👍 God bless you all🙏
OR.... you can simply read and realize that the woman clothed in the sun is the nation of Israel, which gave birth to the Messiah, and in the end days must flee to the wilderness 3.5 years were she (the Jews) will be miraculously protected by God from the AntiChrist.

Try Mary, as the Ark of the New Covenant!

The woman clothed with the sun of chapter 12 is the nation of Israel. John was not the author of Revelation. The author of Revelation is Jesus Christ. The Revelation of Jesus Christ was given to John by the Angel of the Lord. The catholic church is described in chapter 17. The catholic church is that great harlot.
Remain in your ignorance!
The woman clothed with sun is persued on earth for 3 1/2 by Satan in future prophesy for all in Revelation after chapter 3 is future priphesy. That would be after 100 AD. Mary was not on earth after 100 AD. The catholic church is described in chapter 17 of Revelation.
To not mention the constellation Virgo and its significance to this story is a crime. Too many people will be mislead by this literal explanation without its spiritual component…..all the reason why Jesus was so frustrated with the ‘priests’ in his time. Tell the TRUTH!!!!!!!!
The woman clothed with the sun is in Revelation she's not Mary she is a woman that we do not know her name. She's not God's mom you people don't know anything!!!
Woman means FEMALE PERSON.
GALATIANS 4:4-5 4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent his Son, made of a WOMAN, made under the law: 5 That he might redeem them who were under the law: that we might receive the adoption of sons.
ISA 7:14 Jesus (IMMANUEL) will born from a virgin (VIRGIN BIRTH).
@@alfray1072 Rev. 12 ; the woman is Israel , the child was born to the tribe of Juda to the root of David

LOL! Another lie! Christ Jesus do not have a mother in heaven and will never will. 🤣🤣🤣
Appreciate you labeling your comment as another lie
like I said, waiting for the comments....so explain Revelations 12:5, which specifically identifies the Woman (John here obviously harking back to Genesis 3:15 and John 19: 26), as the MOTHER of Jesus Christ
@@glennlanham6309 repent from your sins and pray for the Holy Spirit to teach you as you study the "uncorrupted" bible then you will understand that biblical passage about the "woman" because Christ Jesus, the GOD and CREATOR will explain it to you and not humans, nor priests, nor church leaders, nor doctors, nor pastors, etc. ONLY GOD teaches the truth and HE WILL NEVER EVER LIE!!!
