Mainely Hockey Cards here, and today, let’s go over the entire 2023-24 Upper Deck Series 2 Young Guns checklist. Overall, it's boom or bust!
I’ll be going over each Young Gun individually, as well as attaching a grade from F to A as my thoughts on their investment potential.

Still not appealing enough for $300 a box
It’s a gamble
SPA for $500 is even crazier!
True, I got a box for $225 CAD all in which I still think is crazy but apparently is cheap. Does have life changing potential if you somehow pull a high gloss or 1/1 bedard, $20,000+ for sure
@@Lethal210 you have to go to the right store at the right time good luck. Hundreds of stores and when did Upper Deck put the 1/1 Bedard or did they. Why would they put 1/1 early? Obviously they will wait in the late runs. Cause everybody chasing that.
@michaelprime7621 True, probably will take a while for someone to find it to sell boxes. Not gonna but anymore for more than $250 so gotta hope it drops but from past year what happens is young guns get cheaper after release but for some reason boxes go up. After a year or so they go down and settle fairly. We will see but the hype gonna be mad to start

Great breakdown as usual, enjoyed it. A little disappointing Fantilli or Cooley is not in S2 as regular YGs. I know that makes Extended much better, but if spending big $’s on S2, nice to get another strong name. I am lucky to get a few boxes before prices shot way up, but interesting to see where the prices of boxes will go.

The way they put together this crop of young guns, it should be a normal price. If they wanted to inflate the price like it is, they should’ve included Bedard’s canvas, Cooley and Fantilli at the very least. You could very easily get a box with 6 D or lower Young Guns and get so pissed off that you don’t buy any more product. I can see that happening with a lot of people. Of course, I’m a Blackhawks fan so I will be going broke chasing KK and Bedard

UD does not control the price of this-distributors and hobby shops do.

I have a question about Artifacts wildcard redemptions. How do I know who it is or where to redeem it? appreciate the videos!
You can redeem them on the Upper Deck website; lists for the wildcards are typically released pretty soon.
What do u think a bedard YG starts at? Marquee’s are going for roughly $100- id say $800 off the get? I can see it getting mcdavid prices
Yeah, it’s certainly possible. I was leaning closer to $600 after Day 1, but the first few to market… I can definitely see them going higher.
I think day 1 will be concerning sales pricing I'd day mcdavid for sure, maybe $900. Will then plumet days after to $500-600.
I know one of the fifty right now, its a checklist lol !

That is up to you. =) I would grade and then go from there, if it looks like a gem. If it doesn't, I'd lean toward selling.

New to hockey in the hobby. These videos rule! How does UD decide the release for Russian guys. Im a flyers fan and I’m waiting a few years for Michkov but would he be series two of the year he debuts or can they jam him into a product in anticipation of his debut?
Welcome to the hobby and thank you! UD does not have KHL rights. UD decides which product he debuts in, but he won’t have any pre-NHL cards unless he goes into the AHL first.
He needs to play in a NHL game before he can be in a set, can be preseason or regular season
Love your vids, but Bedard should be given S tier. Him, Matthews, McDavid all (at the time) S tier YGs Imo.
It doesn't really fit the grading scheme, but I get what you're saying.
C+ for Lohrei! come on man! Him and McAvoy for the next ten years lo
I actually had him higher, and brought him down. I'm not 100% sold on his offensive game.
Are the hobby box prices likely to increase after release?
There are a lot of factors that go into play with that. If this were a prior year, I would think the box would go down by the summer. But until that 1/1 Bedard gets pulled, I see these only increasing. Once that is pulled, I think we will see a dip, and then a longterm increase.

Edit: This guy posted a shutout to win the series. As I'm typing this he's going for $20.
It’s a great run so far. If Vancouver wins the cup on the back of Arturs Silovs, there are going to be a thousand questions going into next season.
That's a pretty poopie crop in all fairness. For that price they shouldv'e thrown in a Fantilli too at least
Upper Deck does not decide the price - Distributors and hobby shops do.
