What a road. lol 4 lane road with intersections at grade, tractors imminent, accidents waiting to happen galore. wow. Hoping they get done everything they need to in order to upgrade this expressway to a safer highway. Wowsers. Love the video, and thank you for uploading it for us. 🤗🤗🤗💕💕💕😍😍😍📸📸📸🤭🤭🤭🐸
Eastern Europe drivers drive 120 on far worse roads. I remember oldschool road 1 from Łódź to Katowice (now A1), A18 from Wrocław to Berlin or the A6 from Szczecin to Berlin (the latter 2 ones were built by Fuhrer and remained this way to 2000s)... Then the drivers didn't feel any fear to drive at 120 or more, including myself. nOw the situation is far way better, but the speedy spirit remained in most of the drivers.
Fantastic Drive. I always wonder why is it there is often continous fenced railings/sidings on european motorways? Over here the roads are left pretty much open with no railings unless there is an absolutely massive cliff or something. That second portion of highway that you showed that is "not a motorway" is exactly like the Trans Canada Highway is like here in most places; divided dual carriageway yet still some intersections.
It varies a bit by country to what extent they use guardrails / crash barriers along roads, varying from almost total enclosure (Italy) to dangerous spots only (Netherlands). Many highways through rural areas do have fences to avoid wildlife accidents. Many countries have built wildlife crossings to enable wildlife migration (not many in Belgium though).
Wow, that's one of the few roads I've seen in Europe that doesn't have perfectly smooth pavement. I'm impressed that that road has street lights along its whole length too.
One of the most dangerous highway I'm used to drive. It's weird when you go at 120 kph with a distance of less than 4meters of a doorstep. Also : it's never shown the speed : 90? 120? But there is radars. Also : you can find agriculture tractors on it, enjoy the 60+kph speed difference. But don't worry the "highway" ends with a brutal traffic lights
Misschien een ideetje voor Wallonië om de tunnel/viaduct bij het begin van de video van verlichting te voorzien? Daar zie je in de avond laat helemaal niks door
It blows my mind the unnecessary amount of streetlights on Belgian roads yet a worrying lack of side rails and the poor state of the asphalt. I wouldn't feel confident driving at +100km/h on such roads.
I can never understand why to plant trees so tall on the side of the road even in the middle. Belgium is a beautiful country. They should let us enjoy it. Muchas gracias por este video y por todo el trabajo que haces. Un abrazo
Planted? I'm pretty sure most of these just grew, and they did nothing about it. I saw tree roots growing into the motorway several times when we drove through Belgium last year.
It's actually the largest item of the Sofico road budget 2019-2024. You can do a lot with 70 million if you don't need to replace bridges or acquire land / properties. I'm guessing they're going to replace all old concrete and maybe add a shoulder, as seen on some sections in the video.
They may wanna strongly reconsider the international designation number if they don’t want those signs taken as souvenirs by stoned tourists, maaan…🪴🥴 To USA standards, that one old concrete stretch didn’t look that bad… the worse off states let their original concrete get FAR MORE worn out before at least overlaying with asphalt… genuinely hope it’s my imagination, but prior to the 90 km/h zone at the end of the footage, those left turn lanes looked dangerously short…

That road actually looks better than most of the crappy roads we drive here in the USA.
It reminds me a lot of some of the non motorway sections of the A1 here in the UK, especially the bits through Sandy and North of Doncaster
120km/h on that seems like a deathwish
Think that your are in Belgium. Some drives on it at 140kph.
If you don't get distracted by your smartphone it's pretty safe.

Merci. Pouvez-vous me donner le titre de cette belle musique, svp ?
c'est Exostate - Easily I Fell (Ferry Tail remix, je crois)
İ love this Chanel and all videos
What are the songs used ?

The major problem of this fast express road/motorway is the part between Gerpinnes and Charleroi where it ends and become a simple overcrowded road !

Belgium has long been notorious for its poor road quality. Things have been improving over the past 10 years though.
Can you do one in Romania as well?

if there are no speed limit signs, the default speed limit applies. That is 120 km/h on Belgian four lane divided highways, unless otherwise posted.

@@Glenni91N Actually they do plant, usually a few years after the embankments have settled.
Me like the video very.
70 million to 'rehabilitate' the N5? They'll be lucky to resurface this stretch of N5 with that ridiculous low budget.

They should replace the old concrete with new concrete. That’s what they do here in the U.S
@Notger, Prince-évêque de Liège no I’m talking about the old section.

Like parts of Ontario Highway 11 north of Barrie. A lot of RO-RO interchanges.
