    Thank you for the tips! I have this camera and love it, but I do find that my prints often come out too bright with the natural print setting. So I am going to try setting the exposure compensation down a little like you showed and see if that helps.

    Thanks. I think I may have been too quick to return this without really playing around with the settings, so I ordered another one. Im also picking up a Ulanzi that goes from 2500-9000k color temperature and can do all sorts of different colors. They also have one that has little mini grids, snoots, barn doors , looks adorable ha. I'll give this another shot and see if I can get the photos looking more lo-fi then over sharpened and digital.

      I hope you enjoy the second look at the camera. I have enjoyed using mine. I've been thinking about getting one of the RGB Ulanzi like the one you are talking about. Let me know how that goes. I've seen the snoots and barn doors. They are similar to the LumeCube. Pretty interesting for lights. Cheers.

      @@RobertHamm Are you using flash for all portraits? Even outdoors in sunlight? How well does it handle backlighting?

    • @RobertHamm
      @RobertHamm  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, Michael. Absolutely. Instax film is light hungry even at 800 ISO. The aperture is so small on the camera that Flash will help every time. SO I use the constant light cube on top and the internal flash on the camera. I wish Fujifilm had included a real hot shoe. they make strobes. Even a cheap one would have worked... but since there isn't a real shutter, then there could have been issues. Who knows. But yea, I use flash with almost every image and especially portraits. Cheers.

    Hi Rob,
    I have both cameras, mini evo and neo classic 90.
    Don't you think Evo is more blurry than mini 90 ? Mini 90 takes sharper photos as I see.

      I'm happy to hear that. For me, it's the EVO. I'm really loving this ca!era and it has replaced my mini 90. There are differences between them, and some reasons why I would choose the mini 90 over the Evo. But for the most part, it's the EVO all the way. It's my current Fujifilm Recommendation for new shooters.

      You're probably fine, although that is very cold. Instax does not have the same temperture dependent development issues as polaorid film does. Give it a shot, just keep the film in your pocket and stay warm. Good luck.

    Hi Robert, thanks for all the info! I'm getting my Evo tomorrow, but I was wondering how you transport it? I'm trying to find a lense cap for it. What or which cap would you recommend for putting the Evo in my backpack?
    Thanks ahead!

    • @RobertHamm
      @RobertHamm  2 роки тому +3

      Hi, Thanks for your comment. I am intentionally not putting a lens cap on mine, nor am I using a case or special transportation method for it. This is because I want to see just how durable it is. I wouldn't suggest you do the same. Good thinking on how to take care of your camera. You're going to love it when it comes in.
      I have a video coming up on accessories for the camera. I will post it when complete, so please subscribe so you don't miss it. However, you will probably need those items before my video posts. For that, I would suggest any of the lens caps on Amazon. There seem to be a lot of them. I have also seen a clear plastic snap on case for the camera, like a phone case sort of, and it looks interesting. My only concern there is that a lens cap would not fit well because there would not be enough of the lens sticking out after the clear case was on. That's something to consider.
      As for transport, a simple bag should do nicely. You can get the Fujifilm case for it as well. It looks nice, but isn't my style. It would be great if come company came up with a screw on half case. I would like that a lot.
      Cheers.

      @@RobertHamm Thank you so much for the elaborate feedback!! I really appreciate it!! I will look for some lens caps on amazon as I am not a fan of the fujifilm leather case, or the plastic snap case. Now I'm looking forward to your accessories and durability videos.
      I'm not a pro-photographer like you, so I will most likely use mine to capture memories in a point-and-shoot way. Also to have a nice keep-sake in the form of the instax film that I could also share with others. So this camera will be such a treat!!
      Keep up the great work! Watching your videos on the mini Evo made the wait for mine even harder haha.

    • @RobertHamm
      @RobertHamm  2 роки тому +1

      I'm glad you like the videos about the evo and found my comments helpful. I don't like the Fujifilm case either. Photography is all about memories, so you are already on the right track. I made a video a long time ago about being a professional photographer. I think the term professional is a misnomer. As long as you are creating, you are already there. Cheers.

    Can you print with that from an XT or other camera model? If so, does the better resolution and dynamic range of that kind of camera come through on the print?

    • @RobertHamm
      @RobertHamm  2 роки тому +1

      No, you can not print from another X-series camera. Yes, the analog film has a better dynamic range latitude than the sensor in the EVO. So, better input will result in better output. If you transfer an image taken from any camera to your phone, and then use the Evo print app to directly print it from the Evo camera, you will see a benefit from a sensor with better dynamic range. This can be easily demonstrated by printing any image from your phone camera using the Evo. If you were to take two shots at the same time, one on the Evo and the other on your phone, your phone will do a better job. This is why I say Fujifilm could have done more. They used a sensor that produces images only good enough for Instax film prints. As an Instax camera, the Evo is good. As a digital camera, it is horrible. Some people have difficulty holding those two concepts at the same time. Just remember that Instax film is analog film. There are no pixels. It's a chemical development process. The print process is digital. The printer uses LEDs to expose the film. Most, if not all, defects from the digital print process and small sensor dynamic range will be hidden by the analog development process of Instax film. That's why they can get away with that sensor in the Evo. When used carefully, you can get some really great Instax prints from it.

    • @RobertHamm
      @RobertHamm  Рік тому

      It takes a pretty sharp image most of the time. The image has analog characteristics due to the physical print process. It also has filters built in that can make it look more lofi.
