Opening Silver Jubilee

This type of show is sadly not being presented anymore. Cool to see. I grew up in Central FL & before going off to NYC to make a go of show business, my father took me to a neat couple of days in Miami & I was wowed with Les Violins & it's impressive transformation from low ceiling restaurant to high ceiling theater. The runways would rise up from the floor & the talent would take over. So nice to see this here & remember. :-)

I remember going to Les Violins as a child. I wanted to be a show dancer when I grew up. In my twenties I met David Wallack, owner of Mango's Tropical Café, and I told him about my dream to be a show girl. I told him about the Samba dancers at Jardin Brazilien at Bayside. He took those ideas and ran with them. That's how Mango's Tropical Café came to be. It's now known worldwide.

Some pretty talented male dancers, too! Someone went to town with their cast albums of Funny Lady, Chorus Line & They're Playing Our Song. SO late 70's! haha
