So I just did this section thanks to this guide. At 10:44 if you drop down northeast from here you find a smithing stone 7 on a corpse. Also from the spirit spring that you use to get up here jump of the cliff nearby. Then head south/southeast. There’s a cave with a runebear and a lot of goodies inside.
There is also a small plateau to the south of the boss arena. You can reach it over a branch and while I don't remember if there was anything important to pick up, it allows you to drop down into the cave with the runebear and cheese him from a ledge :)
Something missed here (besides the little plateau others have noted), or maybe it's normal and I just didn't realise until I was here..taking down the mausoleum will remove all of the spectral enemies in the area, leaving it nice and peaceful. There's also another b*stard of a rune bear napping just down in that area in a little cave. Loving the channel; these vids have just been the best accompaniment to my playthrough. Keep up the stellar work mate, and all the best for your much deserved success going forward.
Friendly reminder that the Beast Repellent Torch works great against the Basilisk enemies! You can also access Deeproot Depths through Leyndell's sewer system, there are two secret walls across from the Frenzied Flame Proscription, one leads to a chest containing a Rune Arc, and the second one is behind the Rune Arc chest leading to the Deeproot Depths. As a side note you can get all the way to Astel without ever interacting with Ranni and starting her questline.
Such a small map and yet I missed so much. I have to head back here ASAP and get me some Rune Arcs. I was watching your video on the DLC when I randomly decided to watch this one. My mouth dropped open when I realized how much I missed.
10:07 the drop rate here seem to be higher than usual, so a good place to farm Mausoleum gear _before_ you bring down the walking Mausoleum and cause the knights to permanently despawn.
Rune bears. Blinking Rune bears. I cheesed these ones using Loretta’s bow spell and just staying out of aggro range as I hate them. Squishy spell blade.
Actually there's a way to access the area without fighting the Valiant Gargoyle pair. You can access from the Frenzied Flame Proscription grace. Nearby where Hyetta stands at the end of her quest, there's an illusory wall with a chest inside. Then, behind that chest is another illusory wall that leads to Deeproot Depths. This is the more efficient way simply because there is a grace site and items you cannot access if you came in using the coffin.
@@tsunamiaz2101 you dont need to progress Hyetta's quest to get this access. She's merely used as a reference for the rough location of the illusory wall IF you had progessed her quest.

to the right of the sog before fia you can platform across to a small area where there is a giant hole in the ground you can platform down. at the bottom is a somber 7 which is directly above the rune bear you fought earlier. You can then cheese the rune bear if you want.
Thanks so much for this video Dom! I was trying to figure out how to reach that hidden cave. You were absolutely right about how fun it was to go through there and kill all those ants. Can't wait to see more of your awesome Elden Ring videos man!
Damn! You missed *ALOT* just by not doing Ranni's questline. I didn't realize it was a prerequisite for Fia's. Sans spoilers there's a whole armor + weapon set, a dress, two legendary incants., and a Great Rune for the ending. You just saved my Journey 3 by letting me know, i want to experience the Death Rune ending this go around and if i skipped Ranni's quest, i would've been piiiiisssssed.
The bug with the rune bear falling through the ground happened to me in the first area you showed in the last video! I haven't seen it with this one though.
If your like me and avoid rune bears as often as possible, you can cheese that first one if you drop down through the hole at the top of the waterfall and use ranged attacks
In the part where Dom goes over the spirit spring to jump up to the roof of a building to get arteria leaves, there is a golden centipede on the very bottom part of the building. Hope this helps anyone.
I love Dom and his channel But I definitely recommend completing all the subs to Fia's and D's quest line before going into her arena. You miss out on a legendary boss and item that changes the game ending plus a lot of lore and armor. When I got to this area I went back and did everything that led up to interacting with Fia. Definitely worth it
Dom, you are by far one of my favorite Elden Ring creators! Your sincerity and gratitude shines through with every post.....and not to mention that wit.....thank you good sir! Cheers from Colorado! Please hit me up if you're ever my way so I can buy you a pint and thank you in person!
Nice one Dom. I particularly enjoyed tackling hte deeproot depths and concluding Fia's quest. I however, missed out on getting the knights armor pieces as I first took down the mausoleum and that made all the knights disappear.
Golden land is actually one of the best ash of war. You can clear lots of enemies around you with the slam and hit enemies from a distance by locking on. Plus it staggers so well
Super awesome tip for those who have the faith investment to pull it off. Walk into that giant cave full of ants, jump off the ledge, and halfway down use Placidusax's Ruin. It is so satisfying
I'll have to go back and grab those ashes!! 😅Ironically that Crucible Knight was the easiest one out of them all for me. I think the two CK's that were in the heros grave were the hardest ones to fight for me. I'm also glad I got a chance to see the boss fight for this area before actually walking in to that lol I would've been soo unprepared for 5 bosses lol. I'll have to go back and talk to ranni or something because I still have yet to retrieve that statue for her. There are alot of quest lines I royally fucked up during this initial playthrough. At least I'll know for next run through to take my time and really research each quest line. I already messed up Volcano Manor because I killed Rykard before the last red envelope.
I was scratching my head as to where you were at 8:00 when you said all the way to the north west, when you actually are all the way to the south west 😅 took me a minute to figure out where you were 😊
There is also another way thru Leyndell> forsaken depths, to the three fingers frenzied flame and most of all you must pass the hated jumping and dying, I mean it's easier to deal with Malenia than that. but has more loots along the way.
One tip for the area around the mausoleum, if you bring down the walking mausoleum (by climbing the roots to the top and destroying the crystal skulls) i think it stops the mausoleum soldiers from spawning.
If you drop down where the 3finger god rest, one of the walls in there its a magic wall... so you can reach the deep roots without make any quest. Just get to the capital and travel all way to the sewers and fight the first Mogg. (Ng+2 when i remember that lol)
Earned yourself a subscriber with this one man. This has to be the best underground area by far! Really excited to test all this stuff out including Fortisaxx's incants. God tier video, thank you!
woohoo, thanks Dom, been waiting on this one, I can see a item when you first enter the deep but I still can't figure how to get it 😭🤣 great guides man, thanks 👍
That exact same bug hit me as well (with the Rune Bear)! I though I lost the drop for good, but he just respawns and I had to fight him again. But man, I was so pissed/worried about it in the moment! Btw, I can’t wait until your Haligtree video, because I fell SO MANY TIMES in my first play through…and I feel like a damn parkour champ most of the time. 😂
Dude this game is huge is amazing. I literally missed this place on my first playthrough and rn on my second playthrough I suumbled upon this new area. Crazy how I’m still discovering mew things
Thanks for producing and posting this. Just below the rooftop with the 5 Arteria leaves, that required a Spirit Spring to access, is a lower platform with a corpse with a smithing stone 6 I believe.
I've suffered the falling bear bug too many times to count. Sometimes it does fall to its death and I'll get the runes. Sometimes it just stays in limbo forever.
Wahey! This is the first vid I've watched where I hadn't missed anything and I was able to get the secret boss as had advanced the necessary questlines. All chuffed with meself.
4:05 Assuming the translation of Melinas dialog is correct, Torrent is male. When you receive the whistle from Melina, she ends the dialog with "treat him with respect" ;)
Yeah riding the coffin down to the lake of rot was a dope cut scene, riding the magic floating coffin upward to get to Deeproot was so corny I laughed.
Im pretty sure you can still go and do the necessary step for bohmth rannis and fias questlines. I was up to the upside manor, but did this first. I just went back, finished that, and continued with fias quest. You might be lockdd out of fias at this point though if you didnt do the darius and d step, I'm not sure tbh.
i think you are able to summon in the graveyard area because the knight on the horse patrols near it. he isn't insanely hard to beat just annoying cause they teleport and if magic user he seems to often teleport when casting. He does hurt too maybe 3 hits and im dead the mosuleum knight that dropped the 2 gear for you also dropped 2 gear for me i think it was the shoes and a great shield. Eclipse great shield or something. it was purple. also a tip for any casters struggling with them let them run at you and then cast. just be ready to dodge. I used comet and just charged it and when they respawned after teleporting they would charge at me and it just does more damage since they are not shielding themselves. you can open as well i think it works but if they see you thats when they take less damage since their shield will be up. when you jump on the 1st building with the spring there is a gravewart to the left if facing the entrance of the building i think a 6. on the 2nd building with the spring if you jump down to the middle section there is a somber stone 6 i think on a dead body. the gargoyles that breath fire also seem to return 1 flask of each as well at least the ones towards the end do per kill. so if running out of flasks just kill them decent runes 3kish and easy kill so no point not to kill them If having trouble with fia's champions as a caster just switch to rock sling. rogier dodges a lot. they are pretty easy to kill otherwise. think the purple glintstone spell will work too since supposedly they won't be able to see if so they dont dodge it at least that is what is said in another video regarding that spell. does less damage i believe though Unrelated but if in nokstella/outside you can take the Below the Well grace site lift if you unlocked it up to Siofra River well grace site in caelid or vice versa. go to your left you will see a giant rune bear. kill it and go towards the edge of the cliff is a stonesword key. dont think this was mentioned in your Caelid video. If your having trouble with the rune bear kite it to the building and hide inside just watch out the roar it can still hit you unless you clip it against the doors. if you hug the wall to the right towards the end of the guide there is a small cave with a rune bear. kill it you get somber stone 6 or 7. other 2 items in this cave is worthless for the most part. a rune 8 i think and some throwing knives. if you head by the waterfall there is another item forgot what it was Lightning bolt arrow. by the mausaluem soldier ashes to the building is a archer guy. there is an somber stone 6 i believe next to him.
There is a somber smithing stone 7 you missed in the rune bear cave that you can't reach from the cave. You need to go all the way up on a secret section atop the rune bear cave. You can see the hole on the map of the section.
12:50 ther is a Boss after this Invaders. talk to hir, reset time, talk to hir, reset time, and at some Point she is sleeping. you did give hir the Mark of death right? 🤣 have fun with the Dragon of Death. haha gl. ah yea. he got a Remembrence too.
This area is a complete cakewalk if you take the beast repellent torch for the first bit (ants/basilisks) and then rush towards the walking mausoleum in the second half (mausoleum soldiers) as they all despawn when you get on its back and knock the crust off. Then you can just wander around picking up items with little care in the world
below the roof you pick arteria leaf, there is smithing stone 7 from the corpse. behind the walking mausoleum the cliff beside the waterfall there is another rune bear, big one
The mausoleum royal knight is actually luthe the headless summon on a horee, unless you kill his horse, then its kust luthe. Either way, hes a great summon, probably top 5.
Quick tip: if you put the Walking Mounsoleum to sleep, all the headless knights and soldiers will disappear. They come back if you rest at the site of grace thou...
Here's a tip, if you find the path that leads to the top of the walking mausoleum in this area and clear the skeleton growths around the top area, it will fall down, and all of the mausoleum knights in this whole area will disappear.
Dom great video as always. You should do a dark souls things you missed, I'd love to see you playing through the whole souls series. Thanks again for your hard work and awesome videos dude
I built up loads of Smithing Stones before I started new game plus. I had duped 7 remembrances and was saving them for NG+ to dupe the others. Ah! They all disappeared and I didn’t even get the equipment from them. Nevermind I got a little work now lol. EDIT: Just beat Reenala for the 2nd time and all my remembrances are back but I can’t dupe them unless I beat the boss again. I just choose which equipment I thought was best and will go for the Bosses I need again.
You don't need to keep the remembrances to dupe them btw; you can dupe any remembrance you have obtained in this playthrough, even if you have already used them.
So right about 2:45 when you begin to jump on the tree branches, have you noticed a branch with ants going up to reach a high spot,I've tried to reach that branch to see if there's anything up there but I cant get to the branch,it goes up high in the opposite direction your supposed to go. Does it go anywhere if not cool, but if it does please help a guy out. You can look up and see the ants going up the branch, just out of reach. Ty
Lol.. Oh hell no man, The same sh!t happened to me 4:57 after I finished the 'Auriza Side Tomb' on the Northern most outskirts of Leyndell! I saved the clip and everything bcuz how stupid and how hard laughed.. (out loud and by myself even felt dumb) it catching me offgaurd, plus my character was pretty week at the time.. So im not gonna lie, It was turning into a heated battle between us an then he went to grab an I tried to roll but he caught me anyway, threw me to the ground... and then... !!Shhluuunnk!! The damn earth munched him!? Lmao
Dont know if you know already but the super chill area lets you summon because the grave at the edge of the water takes you somewhere im just about to jump in
There is also another rune bear cave that Dom missed with a bunch of somber smithing stones and runes in it The bear is easy to cheese cuz he doesn't come out of the cave so just hit him with some scarlet rot I'll let it do its thing. The bear cave is on the lower level of the deep roots close to where the walking mausoleum is
There's three ways to get into the Deeproot Depths, Gargoyles is just one of them. BY THE WAY: The Spirit Spring you died at is bugged and you will die dropping to it, cause you don't get the small cushion.

Found this channel bc I’ve been binging elden ring. Super high quality in every respect. Love what you’re doing
We will be covering Questlines separately so we will do a video solely on Ranni's questline 😁
@@DomsRoundtable sweet, i'll give it a look even though that was the ending i chose for Journey 1.
The bug with the rune bear falling through the ground happened to me in the first area you showed in the last video! I haven't seen it with this one though.
I'm glad I'm not the only one with a disappearing Rune Bear 🤣
In the sewers below Lyndell you can get down to the frenzy door. there is a hidden wall down there that takes you to the deep root depths as well.
Plus it staggers so well
used to be, pretty sure it got nerfed into oblivion
I'm so glad I found this channel. Just love your enthusiasm and personality! (Also like seeing how much I missed too...)
Super awesome tip for those who have the faith investment to pull it off. Walk into that giant cave full of ants, jump off the ledge, and halfway down use Placidusax's Ruin. It is so satisfying
The bug you get with the bears happened to me. Once with a rune bear, and with 2 remembrance bosses.
I felt robbed
I cheesed him with a great bow from the building next to the spirit spring
the gargoyles remain one of my fave farming spots. immobile and rewarding ~3500 runes each in my first run.
Ur elden ring video are my absolute favorite. Informative. Thorough. Accurate, and entertaining. Always, well done.
I can’t figure out how to get it either :(
Starting a teams meeting the way you start the video.
I think there is also an aeonian buterfly behind the building that you get the crucible night armor in
I cackled out loud when you grabbed the golden rune 1 🤣 someone on the dev team has a hell of a sense of humor
Or forgot to replace the placeholder.
Love your content bro! Really saves me a lot of time tryna find items and such that I’ve missed on my first go around
Thanks for producing and posting this. Just below the rooftop with the 5 Arteria leaves, that required a Spirit Spring to access, is a lower platform with a corpse with a smithing stone 6 I believe.
Quick tip: SIluria is a woman. Always read the items descrription guys!
again, literally just got there last night! its like we are playing on the same schedule
Thanks Dom!Tips:There are two rune bears in this area, and if you bring down the mausoleum, all the mausoleum soldiers die/go away?...
The ST. Trina sword you pick up in Caelid is very good for handling runebears. Stay close, hit em a few times and it's night night forever.
Holy moly I missed so much. Revisiting tonight. Thank you.
This is the first time I found all the items. Usually I explore then come back to Doms channel and see what I missed
4:05 Assuming the translation of Melinas dialog is correct, Torrent is male. When you receive the whistle from Melina, she ends the dialog with "treat him with respect" ;)
I just thought this cause torrent has horns
@@RowdyRego Well, yeah but some cows also do grow horns, so its not an exclusive male feature ;)
Great video. Pointed out a number of things that I missed. Thanks!
Hey, just wanted to say great videos. Your videos definitely made my journey more fun.
Yeah riding the coffin down to the lake of rot was a dope cut scene, riding the magic floating coffin upward to get to Deeproot was so corny I laughed.
Love the content you put out brosepth…keep it up!
He does hurt too maybe 3 hits and im dead
the mosuleum knight that dropped the 2 gear for you also dropped 2 gear for me i think it was the shoes and a great shield. Eclipse great shield or something. it was purple. also a tip for any casters struggling with them let them run at you and then cast. just be ready to dodge. I used comet and just charged it and when they respawned after teleporting they would charge at me and it just does more damage since they are not shielding themselves. you can open as well i think it works but if they see you thats when they take less damage since their shield will be up.
when you jump on the 1st building with the spring there is a gravewart to the left if facing the entrance of the building i think a 6. on the 2nd building with the spring if you jump down to the middle section there is a somber stone 6 i think on a dead body.
the gargoyles that breath fire also seem to return 1 flask of each as well at least the ones towards the end do per kill. so if running out of flasks just kill them decent runes 3kish and easy kill so no point not to kill them
If having trouble with fia's champions as a caster just switch to rock sling. rogier dodges a lot. they are pretty easy to kill otherwise. think the purple glintstone spell will work too since supposedly they won't be able to see if so they dont dodge it at least that is what is said in another video regarding that spell. does less damage i believe though
Unrelated but if in nokstella/outside you can take the Below the Well grace site lift if you unlocked it up to Siofra River well grace site in caelid or vice versa. go to your left you will see a giant rune bear. kill it and go towards the edge of the cliff is a stonesword key. dont think this was mentioned in your Caelid video.
Beast repellent torch not good for these basilisks or not interested ?
YOUR VIDEOS ARE LIT! THATS ALL! THANK YOU!
Love ur guises man. I’d be screwed without them
The best thing about your videos is you’re not afraid to show your failures 😄
@@bjornseine2342 Great tip I cashed them all in for equipment lol. I have the Platinum but I’m trying to get 100% of items.
The greatbro knight, who always shoots you off your horse 😂
Lmao
0haha that RUNE BEAR.... kicked your ass. hahahah
Man. You are awesome some of the stuff I new about already bur not all thank you thank you take care
2:43 my favorite mini cave in the game
boi who the hell is holding you at gunpoint to say that
thanks for the like Domestic Gaming!!
The bear cave is on the lower level of the deep roots close to where the walking mausoleum is
I never knew nokstella could be entered from deeproot lol you can actually access deeproot in the very bottom of leyndell where the three fingers are
that bear disappeared on me as well
Was actually going to ask when you were doing this one!
would be nice to have seen the site of grace on the map,
You can reach the Rune Bear from the site of grace near the boss, you drop down and can cheeze it
There's three ways to get into the Deeproot Depths, Gargoyles is just one of them.
BY THE WAY: The Spirit Spring you died at is bugged and you will die dropping to it, cause you don't get the small cushion.
I landed in middle and died, had to climb roots again to retrieve runes. Good farming area though.
wooo love it!
Use the Beast Repellant torch when dealing with basilisks. 2 EZ mate.
Things I missed in Deeprtoot Depths: Deeproot Depths
