I like your videos. My Greek husband is deceased (2009) and I appreciate all the tips you give. My SIL lived in Greece for 6 years but stayed mainly in Thessalonia. The museum was video really great.
i miss greece very very much ! i am greek and your videos bring back so many memories when i stayed in athena as a kid. i lived in larissa mainly but anything greek brings me joy! hope u are enjoying greece!
6:10 This is funny because I always end up getting things i didn’t think about too. Because actually jumbo is designed in a way where every step there’s a curve and a long distance to the exit so you will pass by all of their products;which will cause you to forget your original reason for going to the shop and buying things you didn’t expect you needed. Have a nice trip!!
LOVE seeing Jumbo! Looks like a fun store, a little like K Mart perhaps? Fantastic cafe you went to the cocktail list was impressive indeed, *and* the prices looked good :)
go to aegina marina. to north east part of the island. I had a lovely vacation there. Had a hotel just a hill walk down to a beach taverna. amazing food and drinks and yeah just had a great time there. Enjoy your mini break.
Hahaha! I LOVE Jumbo. It's FULL of junk and way too much plastic but you can literally find everything there. Lucky we can walk just 2 minutes to our local one but sometimes it's crazy busy in there and forget going near to Christmas.
Headed to Athens at the end of august - I’m so excited ! Do you have any videos of the best of ? Maybe best beach , best restaurant, thing you have to do ? , best shopping etc ?
Jumbo Rocks!! It’s like death by a 1000 cuts - always go for a few things and end up buying a lot more. Don’t let the pigeons get comfy….they seem to like to take up residency on the air conditioning and oh by the way jumbo sells a plastic plate with skewers and glue to deter them. Happy travels to Aegina!
I bought more than planned but all things I needed. I am not! I go out regularly to shoo them away. I al against the skewers. I think so reflective tape will work. Thanks!!
Thanks for another interesting video. I'm glad you are going to souvala in Aigina, I love it there very much. I hope you are going to xanthippi hotel it is very nice and if you are not staying there try their restaurant the food is delicious. Take care
Fruits of the season are melons watermelons cheries peaches and smooth-skinned peaches which are a bit more red in Color. I suggest trying the combo of watermelon with feta cheese and after tasting it tells us your opinion.
@@agirlandherpassport too pity 😪😪😪. Have tried to make juice of it on a blender and drinking it? It’s great for drinks many times better than orange juice cause it’s sweeter.
I was just in Greece and due to a canceled flight out of Milos, got an unscheduled stay in Athens. We stayed in Koukaki which we found really cool. (Comment totally unrelated to this video 😂 sorry!)
How easy is it to get a taxi in Athens if you're visiting? We anticipate doing a lot of walking while there and also anticipate being very tired! LOL. Love your videos!
I recommend using Uber, which calls a taxi or there is an app here that also calls a taxi, called Beat. But much of the main sightseeing areas are pretty walkable. Thank you!!
I’m a Tomato Lover / Gardener girl from the Garden State( NJ). I’m looking for Tomato Seeds unique to Greece - like Santorini tomato seeds or other varieties of Basil etc. Does Jumbo sell seeds? Or do you know of a store in Athens that sells gardening supplies, and or seeds. I’ve heard the tomatoes at the street markets are the best. I’d like to buy several packs to take home.
I found the Greek word for “ Garden Center” sorry I can’t type it in but 17 Leocharus Pireas - shows walls of vege seed packets on the wall. X-80 Bus goes there. or will take taxi . Staying at Athens Marriott in Sept- not too far from hotel. Will also try Leroy Merlin also it looks like our equiv of Home Depot or Lowes . I’m waiting for a response from US Dept of agriculture to make Sure they can clear customs in USA airport. Much appreciated. Looks like Jumbo is a neat store . Your videos make me feel like a local- part of my interest in a travel experience. Many thanks.
I will only be In Athens two nights and three days . We want to go to the museum and rented a car to drive to Delphi . My grandfather and his family was from there . Any tips for a short visit ?
Delphi is an easy day trip actually. I did stay one night but if you leave early enough in the day you can come back to Athens in one day. Here is my video, ua-cam.com/video/RqXM7Tw4g2I/v-deo.html
Athens I have read is apparently the only city in Europe where the suburbs are more expensive than the centre so for some people it’s a financial consideration as well.
That’s not my experience - we went at Easter and our apartment hosts brought us two baskets of eggs, honey and oranges and lemons from their family’s farm plus home baking. And almost always some small extra item is given; personally I’ve found them the most hospitable people in the world I’ve met to date. Even the word - philoxenia - is greek

I always love these “follow me around Vlogs”, thanks for putting in the 3rd job time for us! Can’t wait to see your weekend trip!
Thanks! You’re welcome.
Its so sweet how much you enjoy your balcony ❤️ Love the filming of the cats!!
It was a big factor in leaving my last apartment. I love the kitties and I always seem to meet friendly ones.
Thank you for sharing!
I’m moving to Greece in August 2024 from US, super excited!

It is more like a Dollar Tree. Yes the cafe was great
Jumbo is my fav store , and i know that they even opened many stores outside the country like in Bulgaria and Romania.
I wish there was one closer to me. It won’t be a regular things for me to go there.
That sandwich looked yummy I wanted to jump through the screen to have a bite!
It is so good!
I really enjoy watching your videos 😊

This one will help. It's older but still relevant. ua-cam.com/video/xBIpWInJHS4/v-deo.html
The buildings in the city center are older and have to abide by height regulations. I think it's connected to the Acropolis height.
Yes that is the case. They can’t block anyone’s view of the Acropolis.
The Greeks pronounce it as JAM BO 😃
Loved the huge store when we were there in 2019. 😉 Enjoy.
Thanks!
Love the videos!

You have your sweet tea in those plastic glasses ☀️
Haha. I don’t like sweet tea actually. I’m not a big sweets person. I am a water drinker

Koukaki is a nice area…😊
Hi,an alternative way to go to Jumbo is by tram.
The closest station is at Syggrou Fix.
Best regards.
The team would take forever. I would have to go down somewhere and make a change.
What is ordering from amazon like in Greece? Wondering if the selection and delivery is as good as here in UK as I use for so much!
We don’t have it here. You have to order from Amazon Germany.
Thanks for sharing, Tiffany! It was very informative. I'm curious about the Cuban now 🙂...looking forward to your Aegina video.
You’re welcome! You should try one.

How long is it for stuff to come from ikea do you have to pay for delivery
It depends on where you are having it delivered from and yes, you pay.
Big mistake I move from Greece to Brooklyn Ny.bringing lot of memories.best place on earth to enjoy and live
Considering the move. May I ask how you found your atty in greece .
He was recommended in an expat group I belong to on Facebook.
I have never been to Jumbo! Is there one close to Kolonaki?
The closest one is in Pangrati behind the marble stadium.
Curious, how much was the taxi back vs the bus fare?
The taxi back was around €7.50 and the bus is €1.40.
Buy some pistachios on Aegina! That’s all we heard about when we visited 4 yrs ago😉
Yes that is what it is known for. I won’t be buying any. I like them but would eat the entire bag in one sitting so I don’t buy them.
@@agirlandherpassport 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can feel you! Whenever I go to Eyeena, I make the same mistake! Proud of you!!!😁
I love Jumbo but living in Greece is a major downsizing from living in the US.I got rid of so much stuff to live there.
I had absolutely nothing here. I moved here with two suitcases.
You can buy all these thing through their e-shop... and they can send you everything via courier... which I think is free if you spend 50 euros.
I didn’t buy 50 euros worth of things. I wasn’t even planning on buying this much.
I can't understand why people stay in the center of Athens, what about Glyfada, Paleo Faliro, Nea Smyrni, Kiffisia, and many more?
We all like different things.

Wait until August, everyone practically goes on vacation at a beach where they own homes on the beach. Athens will be much easier to Travel in August.
Athens will be a ghost town! I kind of love it though.
@@agirlandherpassport A well known secret among the Athenians..😉the best month to be in Athens is August..
Exactly!
The Sea, they call the beach as Americans would say....The Sea. Beautiful clear water, but all so cold. Take some beach shoes, very pebbly.
We do say going to the beach not the sea. But that is because we don’t have the sea in the US. We only have oceans
🙏😊
😀😀
Lidl is much cheaper..Jumbo is not a greek discount store...just saying..
Jumbo doesn't even have food (except some small snacks), so it is a discount but not a supermarket.
@HTL REAL the jumbo I went to in Moschato has Groceries from the floor to the ceiling
Greeks don't give anything away
