When you throw all realism out of the window:
In reality,even if the C651 were retrofitted with motor that would beat what's found on the TGV,the structure of the train would simply be unable to withstand even 100mph.Not only does the body lack the structural strength and shape to go to such speeds,but the glass wouldn't be able to tolerate that much pressure(even the Shinkansen,for example,isn't able to go too fast in the tunnels as the pressure might simply shatter the glass).And then,there's the power supply.At 750 volts,there would be insufficient electricity to feed the motors.
All that said,I'm no engineer and I'm sharing what I do know.And besides,I came here to enjoy a quick bit of a disconnect from reality.
