Faith is not a substance, bad translation. That word was already 250 years out of date over 400 years ago when the KJV borrowed it from the vulgate because it “sounded good”. Faith is a solid foundation, that’s what hypostasis means, the thing underneath that gives solidity. That’s why if you have faith, you don’t need to fear, because you’re on the firm foundation, the unshakable One, Jesus Christ - the solid rock
