Flores's lawsuit forces the NFL to prove its stance that the"Roony Rules isn't a shame, a farce. It forces the NFL to present documentation. Not good for the NFL. Exposing their their"dirty laundry isn't what they want. And without legal confrontation in regards to racism and bigotry, change can't happen. You can't force people NOT to racist or bigoted. You think these owners care what color their coaches are if they win and make their team money? There's more black people in all levels of coaching today than there ever has been. Settlement numbers from my firm are guessing somewhere in the 40 to 60 million range depending on how much comes out in discovery.

As a lawyer who works on employment discrimination cases, I don’t know why people think this is a loser case. 1) why would the NY lawyers take on this case if it’s a loser of a case; 2) the burden of proof in title VII cases (civil rights act of 1964) is “preponderance of evidence” or more than 50% (not definitive proof, not beyond a reasonable doubt); 3) the sham interview is enough evidence to make out a prima facie case of discrimination in the employment context. I think the NFL and particularly the giants are in trouble here.

The case study for me is Pete Carroll, who had a losing record with the Jets in ‘94. He then was hired 3 years later by the Pats and had an average record. He THEN was hired 11 years later in 2010 by the Seahawks where he’s had success. Not saying that Carroll shouldn’t have had these opportunities but we ALL know that the average Black applicant ain’t even getting the FIRST opportunity and THEN have to be at LEAST as good as Carroll in his 3rd stint just to have a chance to KEEP the damn job! Bill Belicheck had 4/5 LOSING seasons as the Browns coach and then landed the Pats job 5 years later….so, read that as you will..!

He might actually have hired Jose Baes if it were a criminal case. Jose has quite the track record and isn't afraid to go against the big guys. The team Flores picked doesn't seem to mess around, either, and they have a personal relationship with him from what i have gathered. Definitely agreed regarding Brady. He isn't the victory lap kind of guy. That said, I dislike that insiders feel the need to announce retirements before athletes have a chance to do so. I'm no lawyer but I don't think you have to prove your case in the complaint phase. And at that part of the lawsuit, everything the Plaintiff states has to be taken as true.
