You should have stayed the night there and started your journey in the morning. Shimoga to Manipal in daylight is a relaxing experience with scenic beauty!
I do this exact journey multiple times a year.

Travel safe man. I was in a bad crash last week entering Hyd. A couple on a motorcycle swerved into my line after making a u-turn. I was going at the left side of the road, at 60-70 as there was a u-turn coming. They were at fault for checking behind and I was at fault for not being more careful and watchful. I am fine but my Speed 400 is wrecked. It's gonna take time to get repaired. Ride safe everyone
