Barrera was at his tiptop prime at this point of his career. Coming into this, he defeated Johnny Tapia, Erik Morales, and Naseem Hamed. All of them were the top dogs of the Division. The last two mentioned were undefeated and Barrera dented their records. Barrera at this point was the King of the Division. Pacquiao was unknown at this time. But on this night a superstar was born.

Not really. There were some Pacquiao fans cheering from the start but were drowned out by the Mexican’s boos. After Pacquiao TKO’d Barrera, the only thing remaining is the Pacquiao fans celebrating and the Barrera’s fans stunned in silence.

Despite all the odds against him, Pacquiao put on the performance of his career, beating the Lineal Champ and then a legend Barrera by TKO in the 11th round. His trainer jumping into the ring to stop the fight, crying and hugging Barrera was Iconic.

@@DensDaPens probably true if you look at it at popularity. It was dramatic in the sense that DLH was the biggest name in the Sport.
