- Bunkers base builds are essentials for the core of any base build in Rust. There are many different kinds of bunkers to choose from but In my opinion these are the best ones out there! If you're looking to find out how to build a bunker base in Rust I've got you covered as I'll be covering offset bunkers, 2 kinds of conditional roof bunkers and the double stairs bunker!
Each bunker base offers different value and has its own risks/costs so it's good to know them all!

In the first bunker its possible to place a barbecue and line it with the stair pillars, that way You can jump on the barbecue to leave the base -> No ladder hatch needed :)

You can upgrade the wall facing the base with the 2 triangle stairs to high quality it doesn't effect the stairs but buffs the base

When you end the video. The foundations you are standing on. You can make those pixel gap bunkers to secretly hide two large boxes and a small box in the floor.

1) Still works
2) Works but can be opened by a single Molotov from the outside
3) Patched. Can not build roof off of frame anymore

there is also the classic stability bunker which imo its the best and the cheapest
Stability bunkers are always great!
It’s neither, multi-tc roof bunkers are the best and the cheapest because all it requires is a twig triangle roof to open. Most good bases have multi tc so it’s easy to implement, and you can usually hide them really easily and put in more then 1. He didn’t put it in the video idk why

For the Floor Triangle bunker, is it possible to set 2 door frames at the bottom where the gap is to out Vending machines so you can have more storage?

Stability bunkers tho.. Great video, but for my money nothing beats the good old fashioned stab bunker.
The conditional bunkers are 10/10 better than stab bunkers, can be self sealing if you use a shotty trap, dont cost hq to reseal every time and faster to seal in an online

Awe sick! that's a slick bunker design! I don't use it too often because it is slightly clunky but it's solid AF Well done my dude
you only need 1 stair, and you can also put it at half height thru the honeycomb so you can have a door above and also below.
Yeah but the 2nd stair doubles the hp of the bunker and makes it harder to throw explosives/molotovs through to open it from the outside.

i did roof bunker 2 and have a pancake layer above it. core walls and foundys are sheet and roof is hqm, but the walls above in pancake are stone because i cant upgrade. is that what’s preventing the bunker from sealing ?

the triangle staircase bunker doesnt work anymore since last update. the triangle twig will disappear when u remove the twig halfwall. so basically you can not open it anymore. so be careful folks.
Even if you make the twig stay it won't effect the stairs, kinda sad since this bunker is so cool

@@chriz9959It was my favorite as well. I hate facepunch for getting rid of this bunker. The players that rely the most on bunkers are solo players and obviously facepunch can’t have solo players having any sort of equal opportunities.

for the offset bunker I only build out 15 triangles and no problems

Roof Bunker 2 still work? seems like I cannot place second roof piece anymore on frame to open bunker?
could u combine the double stair bunker with the offest bunker as well as ur hidden under the floor TC with the pixel gap?
I tried doing a triple bunker style with a pixel gap and the gap keeps breaking offset set bunkers
U can do the offset bunker with the pixel gap loot room bunker. Maybe it dosnt work if u create the pixel gap 2 wide. I used alone in Tokyos way of creating pixie gap loot rooms and it worked with the offset bunker as well
I do wonder, can you access the base if you destroy the two half walls blocking the way down the stairs?
For the first bunker design you either need to destroy the stairs, or the wall behind the stairs. Optionally, you can destroy one of the two roof (floor) triangles above the stairs to be able to get down and place a bag (assuming tc has been taken care of). I use this design nearly every wipe and have yet to be raided through doors lol
Could we get a tutorial on the final base with most of them combined I love the combination of them all and the hidden loot rooms/tc
Right now I'm focusing on small base designs and mechanics! But I love combo ideas so I'll see what I can do!
I was trying to make one using the last design+pixel gap unfortunately the gap broke the bunker.
But I'll figure it out!

The keeper is an amazing design, many people have been living their wipes in it safely now!!

Yes but that would defeat a lot of the purpose and show raiders where tc is

offset bunker is best bcus it doesn't rely on twig to seal the bunker, protects from splash.
Nah, the offset is actually terrible. If the outside foundation that you place your roof on gets destroyed the whole bunker and the walls goes with it. Any experienced player knows this bunker if he sees it
@@Russos3 any bunker design will fail if the stability of the foundation gets removed. I'd like to hear which you think is the "best"
@@dohope4554 Yes, that is the case for stability bunkers. But there are other that does not require stabiltiy or cant be soft sided. For example a simple roofbunker or a floorstacked roof bunker.
The last base there is a better way to do that and cheaper and it will work the same and you can make it a trip bunker out of that one
The first ones not working and I don’t know why the twig bit that holds it open get destroyed every time I get rid of the half wall

I've been building a pixel gap bunker base that from the outside looks exactly like a very normal wafered 2x1, and it's been a lot of fun! so far I've done it on 6 wipes..
3 wipes the pixel gap didn't ever get raided (but the doors did, on all 3), yay! it works!
1 wipe the raiders realized it was a pixel bunker and came back, raided every single wall that could have been a bunker! Woah!
but 2 wipes.. 2 wipes raiders came, blasted straight through the 1 wall to my TC and boom.. and then didn't blast any other walls.. or even the doors..
They didn't even go inside the base... I don't know what to make of that except for ESP cheaters.
Has me a little bummed, but I think I'm going to keep building the pixel gap bunker, because it's fun!
If you placed a triangle roof next to your tc, then they can use a building plan to see where your tc is
With the first roof bunker, isn't it possible for someone to soft-side up through the ceiling in front of the stairs and expose the wall creating the seal?
it is which is why I dislike this bunker type, true it can be hqm and softsiding through hqm is pain in the ass, but I know some people that are ready to do it xD

The first roof bunker sucks I was raid testing it and u can literally shoot an hv in the intersecting parts of the roof and break the seal
for the second bunker it would not let me place the roofs, does anyone know how to fix that?

how come I can't do the double stair bunker
My offset bunker always stops working after a couple days. I read somewhere that server crashes and restarts can cause the sockets to get messed up. Anybody have experience with this? Did I break it by building something or is this a server restart issue? Seems like the offset bunker isn't viable for this reason
I've not ever experienced this issue myself and I use bunkers frequently!
I've had this issue a few times, so I stopped using the offset bunker showcased here years ago.
likewise I built several on vanilla server half of them locked out after a couple of days. console vs pc possible as out servers crash often and reset.

For the final bunker I am unable to place the roof peice to break bunker. I enclosed the foundation with 2 walls and a double door and now when I attempt to place the roof peice it refuses to place
face away from the base like he did in the video when you go to place the roof
You can't place anything on that side of the foundation that the roof needs to build on. A wall or wall frame takes up the socket. Has to be free for the roof piece.

The way I see it, such bugs are what makes base building in Rust interesting and fun. It adds a lot of depth to it.
the last combo bunker was kinda waste of space as people tend to rocket their way in from the side of the base anyway and 1st bunker stops any door raiders.
It was mostly a proof of concept. Add honeycomb and it easily becomes much more secure than the previous 3

FYI the double stairs bunker doesn't work as anyone can place a twig frame without build priv.
It does if you build it how I did since you can't place the frame without the half wall
Fyi you can place a chair making it impossible to place a frame
You can do it one of two ways. Either build it how he did, requiring the half wall first, which a raider wouldn't be able to do. Or build it the "standard" way which only requires the triangle frame, but you then have to place a deployable underneath it to prevent the twig from being placed (sleeping bag, chair, etc; or a sensor/light on the socket). But if you're going that that route, the triple stair bunker is a better bet.
The triple stair bunker is without a doubt the best bunker in the game. Cheap to build, no HQM to seal, can be auto sealed in a raid, completely hidden (no raised foundations or roofs etc showing signs of an obvious bunker), very inconsistent to get through with splash damage (try shooting rockets at it.... you'll most likely only hit one of the three stairs even if shooting straight down on it). Hands down the best bunker.

@@randomutubr222 you can actually do a single/double stair bunker with the "standard" way by putting the stairs on half raised floors with a door frame, that way you can have a door between the deployable and the stairs that will have a gap. you can put either the hfbf sensor or a spinning wheel on the ceiling behind the door to prevent twig. in some scenarios raiders could technically blow the door through the gap and then blow the deployable, but depending on where the stairs where placed it might not be possible (havent tested enough yet)

I don't get how the offset bunker is in any way shape or form secure. Anyone can place a twig roof down and bust it open
They will need TC privs for this which is tucked away in the core. If they already have your core then the bunker is no longer helping you anyway

you really should mention the servers that restart will lock your bunker if youre socket stacking like the last bunker does. if server restarts when its HQM... rip bunker
Ah is that what some people are having issues with? I'd not had that happen to me with this bunker personally but some people have mentioned it breaking
@@Reksmore yeah, i'm not sure if it happens EVERY time but we tested it a wipe ago with wood cause we heard its buggy, and sure enough it locked up after the restart. not sure if theres other socket stack methods that will prevent it from locking, but AFAIK socket stacks lock on restart
Interesting, I use this is my triforce bunker regularly but have never experienced the lock up myself. Will have to test more
@@Reksmore not sure of that build, my buddy built a triple socket stacked bunker on rustified us long and thats where this happened. again, maybe theres a way to prevent it x amount of foundations out or it only affects certain builds. if you manage to make a video out of figuring out the bug and a way to prevent it, i'll be watching

When I try the double stair bunker on console it says there isn’t enough room for me to be able to place the stairs is there a way around this?
I'm not able to test, but I'd first make sure you have removed the lower half walls, and did not accidently fill the place space above where the stairs go! (they need that full wall high area to be built
This is on PC. Console is running a different version of the game.

1st bunker you showed is not correct, the triangle frame you should make of armour because if it destroyed raider can be pushed in, 2nd error the 3rd half wall you can also make armour it will not interfiere to stairs work. But other 2 half walls should be different material of stairs. Also this bunker has a nice bug, the railings of stairs 70% time get no damage from rockets and exp ammo. It means you faster will destroy everything arround but not stairs.

I would not recommend the first bunker at all. Seal can be broken with f1s, hvs ect
No it can't. The seal is HQM stairs.
With that said, I still wouldn't do it like how he did it. I prefer a standard triple stair bunker.

fit bunker isnt good because some parts have to stay metal the second takes one incindiary rocket to open the 3rd doesnt work and the 4th can be made better by making a roofless offset bunker or "god bunker" if you prefer

First bunker with 2 step ladders is not a bunker, anybody can crack it open since you don't need tool cupboar authorization to build the triangle frame to crack it open
You can't place a triangle frame without the twig half wall.
Specifically, a raider can't reach the socket to be able to place the half wall first which is required to place the triangle.
It's funny how many people talk about bunkers not working when they have clearly never built it even once...

This one doesn’t work anymore, but when it did, it was arguably the best bunker in the game, but you’re obviously not a good enough builder to understand this. Firstly, it wasn’t prone to any glitches like stability bunkers are to server resets which usually end up breaking the bunker and sealing you in. Secondly, you didn’t have to spend any resources other than a little bit of wood for the twig triangle floor frame. Thirdly, it was one of the easiest bunkers to build. Lastly, it was the only bunker design that essentially took no extra building area since it utilized honeycomb space meaning you didn’t have to build a base around a bunker, but could simply utilize this bunker in an already designed base. Meaning more efficient floor plans and less cost. If it wasn’t the best bunker in the game, facepunch wouldn’t have removed it.
"Most cost effective bunker" yet you burn materials every time you open and close.

Dude, it's a bunker. If you want more security on top of the 6 rockets for hqm bunker, build a second layer and put down walls. This isnt meant to make your base unraidable, it's a deterrent.
