Project Leap - Smart City (Capstone/Final Year Project) - ECEE'15 Best Project Award Winner

Project comprises of Parking System, Traffic System, Smart House, Monitoring System, Street Light System, and Mosque, where each system uses independent microcontroller along with multiple sensors, LCDs, GLCDs, Camera, Speakers, NFC reader, RGB Leds, Servo and etc.

Hey Haq! How do you control those car stoppers and how it detects if the part is empty?

car stoppers? are you referring to boom gate at the entrance? if so, i have actually used servo, which get triggered by the pushbutton at entrance to open the gate for 5 sec, and then get closed automatically after timeout. you may use IR sensor (GP2Y0A21YK0F) instead of pushbutton if you really want to attain automation, but obviously it will be bit costly. hope this helped!

What did you use to detect if a car was in a specific spot?

We used IR sensor on each parking spot. if you are developing the prototype then i would highly recommend to use LDR, as they are breadboard friendly and output analog data just like IR sensor so not much adjustment is needed in the code either.
