Australian Army Infantry The Truth

- Australian Army Infantry The Truth is a overview of the qualities and the stoic requirements to serve within the Australian Army Infantry the Royal Australian Regiment and the School of Infantry that is the home of the training of the Infantry soldier and its specialist courses as well as promotion courses and the Infantry Regimental Officers Basic Course.
The video presentation is called the Truth as it does not gloss over the current watered down nerf version of recruiting ads on main stream ads for the Australian Defence Force the ADF.
The Royal Australian Regiment is one of one and we need more to be honest and this is a way as an Australian Infantry Veteran I can do my bit to welcome the next generation of capable, brave and resourceful young adults to try a career of adventure and mate ship as well as sacrifice of luxuries such as warmth, comfort and safety.
Create a legacy and see all that you can be within the Royal Australian Regiment Ecn 343.

From a US Army combat infantryman, R E S P E C T !!! Aussies are your ride or die type, glad they are on our side and we get along Hell yeah to every word you spoke. I hope to visit Australia one day and soak it in, all good things brother!
Mate thanks for your support and glad you found us, it has always been my pleasure to serve beside US forces in the middle east as well as compete against you lads in exchanges...
I lost a street fight with a massive black marine in 1996 but I didn't back down and now it's a great story over a beer lol.
Stay strong and true mate Aussies are your brothers and have proven this over the last 100 years of combat on foreign lands..

Australia is the last place I would visit. As a US citizen we have it made here. We have the 2nd amnendment and the bill of rights. Austrlalians habe no rights. They qre treated like criminals at every turn by their own government. The US is changing also but its still the most powerful and the greatest country in the world. It is appalling that the ADF tells women they can do this job and be equal when their physical fitness requirements and IMPS are lower than males. More people need to speak out against this before this ridiculous social experiment goes too far and a woman gets killed on operations because she was put there for the sake of equality. It is really not on

Hey John Doe, I am Australian citizen living in Australia, Born USA, Served time USA special forces, there are women who can achieve and perform. Stop being sexiest and sad to see you make such a statement behind name John Doe.
@@HougeyOz mate if they can do fitness standards that the man can do yeah put them in but if they are lowered that is dumb and will lead to unnecessary deaths
True that only if they make the standard it’s not about sex, if they make the standard for that unit great let them have a go, to be in that unit. If they fail male or female they may find another sweet spot that they can contribute…
@@HougeyOz sorry Terry, but the fact that there are lower standards to begin with is proof that the Department of Defence knows full well women are not suited for the job. I can only imagine how many women would want to leave if they had to do the job for more than two years, let alone the lasting injuries they would sustain from the rigours of infantry training. How many men do you know with crook shoulders and backs?
Mate!!! That was the best inspirational video I have ever seen on infantry. You should be working for DFR now & letting the candidates know the truth.

Hey Senor James, what an innings your Grandad spent at the crease and I know it feels or sounds weird but I bet those things Mrs of war were also his greatest memories it’s funny the sweet and sour memories only living on the edge can give..
I suspect he loved his mates more than his own life..

@@inthetrencheswithcas1762 Thanks Cas :) A funny family story from WW1,,, he was wounded in France and evacuated to a hospital in England. Discharged from hospital but still not fit enough to return to France he was billeted in a family home in Kensington in London along with a British sailor, and both were vying for the attention of the owner's daughter. The Aussies won, and after the war, my Grandmother came out to Australia to marry Grandad. And two generations later, here I am :) It's now a bit of a family pilgrimage if you're ever in London, to go and see the house where our Grandmother grew up as it survived both wars and is still there. I've even been to the closest pub to have a beer, assuming that's the one Grandad would have gone to. Cheers.

Fantastic vid Cas. To any young punks out there, 16-17 yrs old, making THIS decision is one of the biggest you can make. G'day Kaz. I come from a long line of veterans, and served in the RAN and 9th Btn RQR last century. We often worked alongside 8/9 RAR. If I could, I would do it all again, but as a reg not a chocko!
i had the rare privelage if working in an army reserve training unit, preparing new recruits fresh out of kapooka training them on weapons and platooon tactics. Then when required uppingthe training and getting them ready for deployment with the regulars. I was lucky that part of the unit was regular army , SGTs WO1s and officers who had been around the block and told me the stories of their deployments. Being in the army is my dream job but my academics are holding me back.
Hey Nik, what year are you currently in?
Australian Army is not wavering on minimum educational standards mate and you still have plenty of time with 2-3 years before your able to enlist if year ten results are a wash then you need to make year 11-12 a life mission to listen, learn and apply yourself..
Avoid distractions and ask for extra homework that may allow you to improve on the basics..
Get a tutor
When I joined up in 1987, on the first day, my section's DS, a Vietnam veteran, told us, "Get used to being cold, tired, hungry, overworked, underpaid, pissed off and far from home. If you can't enjoy your soldering, then fuck off now. Pack it in and piss off. If you want to stay, then stand bay to give 100%, all the time."

As a non army man, I don't understand a lot. But when I watch the news or read an article, it's always special forces O.S. Do our infantry not or have not served in Afghanistan for e.g?
Our SF are put on a pedestal as all Western Countries do but these guys do an amazing job of almost everything they touch and because they are unconventional in dress, equipment and mission the cameras love them.

Can you make a video on the commando role?
Sorry mate it's out of my lane man
I would probably have joined already if we were REALLY fighting for country. These days it seems more like we are fighting for the profits of bureaucrats. If there was really a threat to Australian soil then I'd have no issue joining, but I'm not going to die or be maimed physically or mentally for anything other than a genuine threat to home and country. There hasn't been one for a very, very long time.
There is some truth in what you say I agree but I didn't enlist to fight I enlisted to serve and have been lucky to have lived an amazing life helping some in foreign lands but also living life to the fullest.

Hey Nicole, mate great to hear from you but I must be honest with you from the start and let you know I’m against females in Infantry and I have many reasons for that from experience and also caring..
I probably can’t change your mind Nicole but I’ll never bullshit you either but sadly recruiting will..
But to answer your question the very best thing you can do for Infantry prep is a CrossFit gym and let them know your plans and you can’t afford to be injured..
You have time do use that time but also don’t be naïve and think biology won’t matter when it’s time for the hard yards consider Armoured CORP’s maybe or even engineers but Infantry be smart…

@@Nicole-jl7it unless it has changed in the last few years, your pack will be a minimum of 20kg for a field ex. Can be more if they throw a radio, extra ammo or a 66 at you. Very true Alan but we have to keep the Navy honest and give a pathway to LGBT or whatever to know where they have the least chance of breaking a nail while getting the best backdrop for their romantic interests..
Flip side imagine how well soldiers would look after and stop missing home if they got everything they need from the shadows of the trenches..
Transgender are the only ones I don’t want to fight beside if they they can’t tolerate their own biological self what chance do I have of getting along with them🪖
@@inthetrencheswithcas1762 :-) It's a complicated issue that's beyond me. Anyway, all the best.

Whats the average age for infantry? Thinking of joining reserves and im 28
I’m hearing that a lot of 18 year olds are joining active so most likely 18-23
👍
I’m aboriginal I’m black but I want to join because I want to be strong and defend my country my home land I might join in 7 years but I’m only 14 but still I want to join 🫡 :)
Great to hear mate there is a place just for you like there has been for over 100 years, I’d just say completely drop the identity politics and indigenous privilege and just enlist in the same lane as everyone else…
You can do this Michael, even if you hate school it’s your mission to stick it through to get to your goals and join the brotherhood that doesn’t care about skin colour just that you are as ready as the guy beside you to walk with purpose into the fog of war beside them..
You can do it mate I look forward to hearing more about your journey..

The dismounted infantry has no part in future Australian security
You are 100% incorrect mate
I suspect you may not know what your talking about mate
Greg can you explain why you believe light infantry has no use considering its light infantry that holds ground
@@inthetrencheswithcas1762 The principal future threat to AU is in the North. To do anything useful there, the infantry must be mounted, i.e. light horse (dragoons). Light infantry deployed to an archipelagic terrain are too exposed to various munitions, and they cannot lug heavy weapons with them. One has to understand the utility of various types of troops in combat and their operational setting.
